Don't get me wrong this track is amazing, but the riff that starts at 2:25 is a riff that messes with the whole song. It was and is a heavy song but that riff is off putting and I feel like I would listen to this and Death songs in general more often if not for the "progressive" part to it.
Their(Please tell me if that's the right one) first 4 albums were not really progressive. If you want a heavy Death, go listen to those. Just giving a man advice, no rudeness intended.

I'm not familiar with time signatures and whatnot, but perhaps it was put in as some sort of aggressiveness?
