- Our friend Shawn showed up to No Prep Mayhem this year with a new build! His 1967 Chevy II, The Mistress. This car impressed us on multiple levels! The car went out and won it’s first event (the car had 9 passes on it by the time we saw it here), it has the BIGGEST turbo we’ve ever seen (yes, bigger than Larry’s somehow), and we watched this thing go A to B insanely fast and it took down Daddy Dave! We are pumped to watch this car wow us the rest of this year!

That engine is basically just a fuel pump for that jet (turbo)

It's completely stripped right now. 2weeks from NPK3 and it's got no drive train or axles anything. Checking every nut & bolt😎💪

It's a 481x motor so it's probably a 572 ci. I don't think it has any issues lol

Yeah maybe a good pass for the mistress but not a good race at all. The whole interview was a bit awkward, Fred came off a little to fan boyish.
It's 1/8th mile there is no "big end" it's a slightly larger end if anything.
@@NitroAuto77 with 3500-4000hp there still a big end man these cars can come from 300 plus ft back or more and win if there's just a tad bit of wheel spin so yes the big end its just as important as the 60ft

The company where Larry Larson's turbo came from build big bad ass diesel tractor pull setups. I imagine his came from the same guys and probably a 145mm I'm more interested in knowing how big the exhaust side is
Wait till the discover tug boat engine setups theres one i seen being worked on and they used a 5 gallon bucket to plug the intake compressor
Yep both turbos are from hart diesel machine.
They are talking about exducer size which doesnt have much meaning. But it sounds bigger that way.

You can get insanely huge turbos meant for large diesel engines that typically go on huge generators or ship engines. Only challenge is getting the turbo to spool up fast enough at those sizes.
Phy Yep that’s what I was thinking. I work on big diesel generators. That turbo can easily be from a CAT or MTU 1meg.
We out here, strapping engines on to our turbos XD

As I've been shopping for enormous housings to fit my new project compressor wheel (it's a 7" Garrett Industrial wheel), let me tell y'all, your options are rather limited once you get past 165mm... Marine Diesels have a few, but good luck getting them in a car!
