keep in mind, parents also don't know how to be parents. They were just like us when they were younger and they teach what they've been taught and what they liked or didn't like about their parents.

I resonate so much with Joie, being an only child of divorced parents. The guilt I have had as I have been living abroad for 8 years and that my parents are getting old. I've recently made the decision to leave the life ive lead overseas to go back to Sg and spend time with my parents before its too late. I worry about my mum being alone. I am afraid to go back to a new life, sacrificing my comfort zone here in London but I know that this is what I need to do for them right now. Thank you for such a wholesome episode, enjoyed it as always.

I only moved in with my mum at 17. And so we never truly understand each other - she's very traditional and simple, my brother and i are quite liberal. So having no privacy is a thing, bit it's better now that i'm in my 30s. She still comes in to throw things away or keep things in my room and i'm just an organized mess kinda person, so we have regular tiffs about it because when i can't find something... It gets extremely frustrating.
At the end of the day, the only resolution is my mum saying "it's my house and you're staying in my room" and i'll have to live with it until I move out. I can't wait to move out!

Last time right, when i came home with a sixty marks, I will use the red pen to change it to 80 marks. Then right, my parents go count the section marks then they say " how come add up to only 60 ah " . Now that I think back, it was really funny and nostalgic. But then again, I really love my parents . If not for their contribution and unconditional love, I would not have what I have today ! I am really grateful to them.
