it's about the sad process of losing your youthful sense of wonder and endless possibility. that transformation is bittersweet because while you gain knowledge and responsibilities as you grow older, you come to terms with the fact that your parents don't know everything, and eventually you come to know more than them in some ways, which is a good thing which means you assume more responsibility and become your own person.

Just because their songwriting formula stays the same and their songs can sound similar it doesn't necessarily mean they're trying to recreate another A Real Hero. The Best Thing takes me on a better drive than A Real Hero ever did.
