Epic. First the chainsaw, then the cherry picker, then the scaffold and a supporting role by the digger. Your dad and Sean's smiles say it all. Hooray for Mick, Sean, Billy and Michael.

Ok, so, I’ve already seen the new stairs installed, insulation and upstairs walls go up, but watching this had me audibly gasping and thinking “is that wall going to cave in?!?” The drama! Kudos to the whole team that made this happen. My heart is still pounding… Also, your dad never ceases to amaze me with his dexterity and strength.
Absolutely brilliant and what teamwork. You are one lucky chap Michael to have such help. Everyone so competent in the job that had to do. A beautiful beam that will add such character to your future home. Fantastic.
These times you are spending with your dad will be with you forever. You are very blessed to have him so healthy and able at his age and you will never, ever regret spending time with those you love. Enjoy them!
It seemed like forever waiting for this story to come. I don't think I breathed once the whole time- well done guys that was precision workmanship. Onward and upward now Michael in leaps and bounds !!!
Seriously this series should be nominated for a Daytime Emmy award and win. i literally just found this channel yesterday and I've watched every episode to this point. I'm hooked!
What suspense! Scaffolding waving in the breeze. Debris flying. Billy flying. Sean teetering at great heights. Mr. P. manning the digger as gingerly as a maid delivering a basket of fresh eggs, cracking nary a one. An incredible feat worthy of a Rube Goldberg construct, except this engineering accomplishment is real. If there were an Emmy Award for RUclips the Doing It Ourselves team would win, hands down.

Ok I’m thinking, whose more excited about this beam going in, them or us? Let’s face it we would all, at this point love to be there helping in this project. Then it would be all our project and dare I say a better use of our time than staying home. Thanks gentlemen once again for the distraction. Bloody exciting.....

Beautiful job fitting that beam. Just a recommendation for future beam sliding. When the rollers are to big, get a large plastic cutting board. Lay it on the scaffold, set the beam on it and it will slide nice and smooth. Just a recommendation from an old contractor in the states.
Holding my breath, what a team, had a good laugh when Sean said the beam was upside down, my late husband and father built our house from the ground up, got a phone call at work from my dad, saying my husband had finished all the brick work and realised he had laid them all upside down, after I had a total break down and my dad had stopped laughing said that had made his day and hung up on me.
I love the comments about the Chunnel. I remember when it first opened, I read in The Sun that you could "smell the waft of garlic from the French side."
