It's really sad when historic buildings are in such a state, it would be such an honor to repair a Chateau like this, but it must be costly to get just in a decent state.

I am so in love with these old chateau’s and estates. They’re what dreams are made of. It’s so incredibly sad to see these places abandoned and ruined, especially knowing the history they carry with them. Unfortunately, it costs so much to try and maintain a house like that, and people don’t have that kind of money anymore. I would love to live in a restored place like that.
I loved this video. My sister and I and a friend found an abandoned house when we were younger and found a way in through the basement. We went in and there was a racoon sitting there growling at us. It was so much fun looking at old family photos of the people who had lived there. That was many years ago and I still remember the sense of adventure and danger.
@@alex0589 its not jus the purchaseing cost, but lso the renovation. If you take renovations into account you wont really find a chateau for under 1mil.€. Let's be honest, there are not a lot of people who could afford it.
I can’t even imagine how a building like that is abandoned !😱 If my small town had a building like that it would be an attraction for hundreds of miles around.
In France they have a law that you can’t just leave your property to one child. It has to be left to all children and then they fight over whether to keep it or sell it and then it just gets abandoned. Then most people don’t have money to restore before they become unrepairable. They are then either left to rot or get torn down.
You took Billy's new expensive camera into that place? You're a brave man, Michael. 🤣😅 Wouldn't look good if a new Petherick was born, just to have another taken out. We're rather fond of you, you know. Be careful out there. 🤣🤣🤣

One problem is that the bank loan system, the taxes and other set coststhe owner can not realy affect connected to running a chateau in good condition are horribly high in France (and a lot of other parts of Europe), i don by any mean say one shall not pay taxes, in fact taxes are extremly important in order to cower up the cost for hospitals, childrens aducation, caretaking of elders, etc, it is just that parts of the currentt system if outdated for this type of objects. I had easily bought a castle if i could afford all this, the renovation and mainteance it self is not the big issue. But binding up for loans is deffinitly.
