I like the clear way she shows the way she is working, and also, I think it's better to use the wider binding and miter the seam for joining as per C Fleyfel below. BUT, I would not recommend sewing with pins on the underside in contact with the feed dogs. This could be disastrous for the machine. I also suggest using the Clover clips, as I find them much easier to use than pins, but if you are gonna use pins, place them on the top, not the bottom so you can see them and pull them out before the needle passes over them and possibly breaks.
Use Clover clips instead of pins and cut your binding 2 1/4" wide and fold in half so it is not that fiddly to turn to the other side. To sew the ends of the binding together, sew the binding at a 45-degree angle so that you don't have all those layers in one place.
I love this foot! But I have a Husqvarna 400 computer sewing machine. It's from the 90s. Very hard time finding walking foot. Had to buy Husqy brand but only after trying several of their feet. Do you know if it's compatible for my machine?
GREAT tutorial! No distractions, clear and concise. Thank you Ana and MadamSew!
Thank you!!
Love MadamSew, love these videos. So helpful
