Great video. Clear, concise and no 12 minute preamble like some channels. This is the 1st clip I've watched from this channel and I've subbed as a result, keep up the good work mate 👍
Just replaced my factory original timing belt after 16 years and 177k haha It was still in operational condition, but had a few cracks developing and the water pump was weeping in the same place as this one, with a lot of dried coolant starting to build up below it... The cam chain rattles for roughly one second on start up, but I've heard this is relatively normal. I will add that the timing belts pretty much never fail in these. They have a rare occurrence where the belt will strip the teeth, but this is caused by the hp fuel pump locking up on the opposite end of the camshaft.
Would you say thet the 2 pins is enough to lock the crankshaft if you dont have an airgun , some say the torque is to high for the pin alone and recomend to lock it on the flywheel gears.
How did you get the crankshaft pulley bolt off? .. I've read some horror stories about that snapping off in the block.. .Now I'm paranoid it's gonna happen to me when I do this in a couple weeks time.
howzit Baz, nice one i have been wondering here, my Ford Focus tdci need a foot on the gas pedal to idle otherwise its wont idle instead it will die could it be the timing being off?
Hi Baz I have a leaky front crank seal is there much more work involved after timing belt is removed, crank pulley pulls off easy enough from my experience, love the content keep it up 😊
tried heat &air wrench pully bolt wont move .thinking if i put car in gear break on will i get away with not having lock fly wheel up or is that asking for trouble?
Don’t worry, you’ll see the Peugeot/Citroen TU 1.1 and 1.4s, I’ve had the belts break lots of times, one time I got away Scot free without bending the valves but the head gasket did fail a few thousand miles later
Hope you’re feeling better soon … how you keep pushing yourself when feeling so rough , is incredible 👍😁

Hi Baz. How many hours of labour would go into this belt replacement procedure (from your end)? Thanks in advance.
you dont Have to LOCK the flywheel to remove the pully bolt "first time"?
Question, do you need to replace all the bolts with the timing belt kit?

Conclusuion.. I bought a Map torch and heated it up just enough to melt the loctite and not the crank seal.. came straight out.

Straight forward buddy and thank you 🤙
Great Video. If I took my Mondeo to Ford for the same job, how many hours would you estimate. Thanks
2 or 3
Done a few of these not nice getting crank locking pin in lot easier on 1.6 on front reluctor ring
tried heat &air wrench pully bolt wont move .thinking if i put car in gear break on will i get away with not having lock fly wheel up or is that asking for trouble?
Hi, does the Ford Mondeo limousine 03/2003 1.8 110ps has a timing chain or belt?
Don’t worry, you’ll see the Peugeot/Citroen TU 1.1 and 1.4s, I’ve had the belts break lots of times, one time I got away Scot free without bending the valves but the head gasket did fail a few thousand miles later
What would jib cost to be done??
Hi,anyone know what the time schedule is for this job?
