Gameloft will literally do nothing about it. Every single game they bring out always starts good then they get money hungry and it turns into something very pay to win it’s sad to see

How appropriate to have Donald Duck in the thumbnail, since this year will mark the 90th anniversary of his debut cartoon; "The Wise Little Hen (1934)". I'm hoping Donald will get his own Star Chaser event this May in honor of it. That would be a great way to earn shards for both himself and his Epic crew members, Jose and Panchito.

Hey gang I made a decision the other day. Since I love GameLoft's production values and representation of the Disney lisence in SpeedStorm while I hate the greedy grabby loot boxxy Free to play pay to win:" aspect. SO, I am switching to Dream light Valley. Its paid upfront and there's optional DLC you can buy if you wish. It gives you that Disney feeling without trying to constantly conn you!

Believe me, I'm not happy either (completely ENRAGED). And if Gameloft won't get their act together, this game will become a shell of itself.

Ok, guys. I think i have an idea how to fix these Golden Pass changes with the Vault Pass too so the game is not doomed:
Golden Pass: 9.99$ reduced to 6.99$
Golden Pass Bundle: 19.99$ to10.49$
Golden Pass can still be purchased with Tokens, but the Bundle can only be bought with money
Reduce the EXP requirement increase per repeat on Tier 50 to 500 EXP
Vault Pass Premium: 7:99$ reduced to 4.99$
Vault Pass Bundle: 15.99$ reduced to 7.49$
Vault Pass Premium can be bought with 495 Tokens

It’s been 3 days since the announcement!!! I don’t think any company can move that fast to change/undo that policy…
I mean, a day to get feedback, a day to think about a rollback, a day to undo it… that’s way too fast for a response.
Thank you Skyliner for keep making videos about this. Right now there is still a chance Gameloft will have to have walk back the Golden Pass changes, but we need to keep the pressure up. If we succeed, than your videos might have been a big contributing factor.
They thought of it this way: "The situation is not very good. We could make more money and we have a chance. We are going to launch the new season with something that people were asking for a lot and we know they want it, we are going to make it Ralph's seasson but it will be accompanied by a complete change of the battle pass and so on, to increase the revenue as much as possible. We don't care about the negative comments from the players. We won't say anything and we'll wait to see how the revenue increases thanks to these changes."
For me; the “premium” currency is even more useless now. The only other reason that I would play ranked aside from leveling up characters which isn’t even worth it once they’ve reached tier 13 imo, was the currency. It felt like after all the grinding at least it could go towards the golden pass. But now it’s just for cosmetics and a handful of shards which imo isn’t even worth it when it’s just a pallet swap and 5 shards at most. Not to mention the fact that there’s going to be seasons that people may not even be interested in at all. Like I liked inside out but I’m looking forward to that season let alone spend actual money to get those characters. I just might completely stop playing during that season especially if I need those characters to complete it…
We need to boycott it for at least this weekend so we can deliver the massage
I don’t expect to hear a statement about this change until the new season or about a week after.
Either way I’m sure the community managers know how the community feels right now. They’re most likely waiting or thinking of how they can word this out properly without making more people angry. Of course doing this is a double edged sword & whatever they do next will still be met with upset fans. What’s done is done and now all we can do is wait for the response.
Its no secret gameloft cares about money, not players. The community can be as mad as it wants. Everyone who pays is gonna pay regardless. And let's not forget the vault passes. They're asking for 28-44$ a season from 10

The fact that Gameloft is still ignoring like come on they need to taking this seriously all of us are getting hurt by this news. They better fix it or else I’m leaving the game permanently those last 5 days are going to be their final again. I’m so done with free to play games they’re a time waster. They delayed just for nothing, they’re mostly doing it so we can pay more ridiculous money they should be ashamed of themselves, we have the right to be mad, all we do it waste money for nothing, they don’t deserve my money. I couldn’t care if Gameloft banned me from the server but they banned my friend too when they were speaking the truth about the game.

Honestly imo, the only way we’re ever going to improve the future of Speedstorm is to vote with our wallets and let Gameloft know that this type of practice should never be allowed in any game period, including free to play games.
They don't care about the community, they care only of money. Not buy golden pass. For me it is also hard, because I love to collect characters, but the new 3 epics characters I will not have. it is a only way. What we say doesn't count. Management will look like Netflix at how many people bought golden pass. It is a war with gameloft.
I just want them to release the game physically for around $60.

Or, GL made the announcement knowing full well the reaction it would receive to get a ton of “spread the word” free publicity. Then on Monday make the announcement the fan’s voices have been heard, and release season 7 like they were planning to a couple weeks ago.
I am curious how much of this is Disney themselves who demanded this change because they need more money what with there stocks dropping rather then Gameloft deciding this on there own.

Don't blame AJ. I know we've gotten silence, but I highly doubt it's his decision to not inform us, I suspect he was told to do this. Our community managers are doing all they can to inform us, and aren't responsible for the changes in the game

Disney Speedstorm is possibly my favorite game, but now I'm not so sure. I'm so scared this game is gonna die, even before we get a Lion King season which I want so bad. Oh well, lions can't drive anyway.

the last season events are really good: Stitch, Gaston, Pete shards... right before the season ends to keep the numbers of active players up when the worst season ever will be live...

I have been playing this game for average of 2hours each day and completely f2p but I'm sure if this changes happen i have no choice but delete the game!
I struggle with a gambling and shopping addiction (specifically connected to video games), i know if i start paying for speedstorm i wont be able to stop. Not going to be buying any Golden passes and continue to be free to play

Do you think they've gone into panic/lockdown mode with the amount of backlash? Maybe they've pulled the community managers back with everything going on and they're either trying to figure out the best way to respond or alternatively just hoping it will blow over and waiting for that?
To be fair every single golden pass on any mobile game it cost $10. Once you give player to obtain that type of chose any later start changing it for real money was going to be an issue.

I wonder if Disney is giving Gameloft an earful, They threatened EA to take the license away because of EA's greedy tactics when they did a similar thing with Battlefront 2. I REALLY hope this backlash is what will finally be the kick in the butt that will make Gameloft change their greedy ways with this game.
The question needs to be posed to Disney if they want their IP to continue to be associated with this. They are a relatively reputation aware company - so maybe they might care about this at some point.
Yo hey, these last few days there's been a lot of news and videos, so I'm a bit lost lol. Have they said anything about whether there will be an unlock pack for the season pass characters? I'm a F2P player and I know I'm not paying them 20$ for a season pass, but I do have around 5k tokens from grinding ranked. I'll only get 10 shards instead of the usual 30-40 , but I can work with that
There will definitely be an unlock pack for the first premium racer, but it’s unknown how much they’ll cost
People flock to free to play friendly games gameloft is basically slowly killing off there own game by making you pay directly for the goldenpass heres the thing if they make a free to play game free player friendly people are more then likely gonna play the game if you make players have to buy things directly they are basically slowly putting disney Speedstorm in an Early grave but who knows maybe when it realeases on mobile it will get a surge in plays but that is yet to be seen
I was reading some of those articles yesterday but I don't think those refund lawsuits proceed cuz they haven't broken that part of the agreement YET. My guess is that their updating that agreement when new season launches. My surprise is that no one complains about the money they made isn't being used to fix the bugs the game has cuz at least that could justify a bit the increased paywall.

Upgrade tokens are what's replacing the upgrade parts, when season 7 starts the upgrade parts will be gone

The facts is, asphalt 9 legends is way more tougher than Disney speedstorm for F2P players, but still ends up very successful, so I don’t see any problem with speedstorm.

In my opinion… for a Game to keep updated and new stuff coming out it supposed to charge at least something! World of Warcraft charges us a monthly fee! And every expansion you actually have to buy it! If they don’t get money they will fail like Disney Infinity! In my humble opinion! 😊

If anyone played dreamlight valley, this same thing happened when there was an outrage about the premium store. Full radio silence, and the premium store to this day is still not really talked about. However, I do feel that it eventually took a good path and dreamlight valley is in a very good state now being paid expansion based and not f2p. As crazy as this may sound, maybe Speedstorm is trying to now push in that direction.
We need more info to tell if pricing will feel more like a "season subscription" based cost, where the paid golden/tournament passes include almost everything, shards and all, for the new season of racers. Sounded like the cost was around 28 dollars. Or if there will still be bad, extra cost gacha based mechanics, where one has to keep dumping money in, which would shoot the theory down. Either way, I feel that they no longer want the game to be f2p, I just can't tell what pay model they are attempting to do.

DDLV devs are different from SpeedStorm devs... I hate to say this, y'all, but this could be part of the software's planned obsolescence as the income from the software decreases over time while the cost of operation remains the same. This is why a publisher or developer might begin actively reducing the player base.
If there's going to be no changes to the battle pass. I will not be logging in when season 7 launches. I'm going to use that extra space to download honkai Star rail instead.

Vanellope and Wreck It Ralph have been some of the most anticipated racers and seasons that could come to speedstorm. Its fine you prefer other seasons, but this was highly anticipated for many

Aj did go silent for weeks on the reddit group, so it's known that they go silent and then pop back up later. Also the changes to me are not even that bad, it's live service so if you stack tokens thinking a would happen it's your fault. Understand live service and then you'll know anything can happen over night let alone in months time

Here's my probably unpopular opinion, the damage to alot of people has been done already with the changes, so people are gonna get angry with GL no matter what statement they put out (unless they go back to Golden Pass bought with tokens)
As for me, im gonna move on, wait for season 7 and continue to have fun playing! I'll leave the this whole situation to the rest of the community.

since 2 month i donte have fun @ speedstorm... befor i play every day. the changes destroy the game. HOW can a not chasher play the season??? parts i cant play and i have all racer and most 2 star, so how its to mange for free to play players, if i (200€ since season 2) cant play it full...

Honestly, aside from having to pay $10 a month for a battle pass and not being able to use past tokens, the game is fine. Its going to get tons of updated features soon which will be very helpful for those who have already completed everything quickly. And we get the season we always wanted. Along with an easier currency for our racers. I think people are looking at the $$$$$$ part before they see the changes. Which is why Gameloft is being quiet bc the community is ranting and raging over something they haven't even tested out yet. If it rly is a terrible change, itll be addressed. But dont try and sue a company for something they haven't even put out yet. Its not like its a crazy amount anyway. The game is still FREE to play. You just wont Win everything you want compared to those who put money and time into it.
The community just needs to chill. Fornite charges for their cosmetics and characters. Along with tons of other games out there. But they wannna sue a Disney game because they created content that is similar? Honestly people are just getting crazier for no reason anyway. Everyone wants to be catered. Its not just a one time buy and comeplete game. So get over your selves.
The only people I've met that are mad about this change are the ones that bought a bunch of premium currency while it was being advertised as a deal. Now that currency can't be used for the golden pass. I understand their frustrations but, I don't believe it's going to stop many people from investing in golden passes in the future.
