Might have only been a 5 day trip this one but dang was a good one, the more lost and middle of nowhere i get the better and this area was spot on for it, hope you enjoy this one guys have an epic week take it eeeasy and stay stealthy uNo 🙏
Really liked this one Adam. Another good video. Excited to see more Scotland, I like the evergreen trees. Any updates on the Kia build?
If you're heading up to the northeast highlands, I can recommend some lovely isolated car camping spots (evening during the hols)... Hope you're well my man. Keeping it real!
A great video Adam the scenery was amazing we going to northumberland in Sept and we like to hike and drive long roads so thanks for sharing guess you didn't like the rice lol😅 keep them coming and have a good week x
Hey Wondering Where😀
Just wanted to ask you a question.
Okay so i myself do trail walks and long distance walks with Alltrails App.
When im done and back at the van one of the first things i need is a good shower and wash. So obviously once you get home you do that..
So what do you do to wash and keep feeling fresh when you out in wild and car camping?
Thanks WW 😀
I imagine it's not easy finding cool camping spots as often as you do! Being someone who has never been out of the U.S. I live vicariously through folks like you. I absolutely love watching all your videos! The scenery is something out of a movie! And just seeing how close you were to the Scotland boarder! No, matter how tough it gets for you out there just know it's much appreciated! Stay safe my friend! ❤
Oh wow thanks SO much, yeh spend quite a bit of time planning stuff but i love it to bits, maybe one day i can get over to the U.S. so many top spots id like to visit there
@@wanderingwhere That would be fantastic! I spent a lot of time through out my life tent camping in the U.S. and we do have some epic places here. You should come on over one day! ♥
I'll take you down to my Ole stomping grounds. And pitch a tent on Lake Guntersville down there in Alabama! Which, has a crazy history as to how Lake Guntersville became a huge lake to begin with. Oh, yeah! Pitch a tent, unpack the cooler, light the bonfire, some fishing poles and catch some of the biggest catfish you've seen by the moon light! Stay up too late and sleep in too long! Just to get up and do it all over again. While surrounded by the most gorgeous woods and hiking trails. Or up to Bucks pocket. Where to deer come right up and poke their noses to your tent door in the wee hours of the morning just to say hi and ask for a bite of something to eat. Where the hiking trails are insane! Straight up or around the mountains either way! And when you reach the top the view is just gorgeous! You may run into a bob cat or a black bear but a little bear spray and they tend to get to go the other way.
... i need to get over there 🙏👍
Great video Adam, don't worry about military ranges, they don't just close them so you wont be stuck. They normally close the access 48hrs before and will patrol before they start any training.
yeh makes sense, good to know for next time, even if it was back here would deffo bag a coupleof those spots i passed
@wanderingwhere keep the videos coming. I normally watch them on the day they come out. But been Blackpool for a few nights. But got home and watching this video was first thing I did, whilst the Mrs unloaded the car, put washing on and made something to eat. She's been on holidays time for her to work now lol 😆 😂
hope u had a great trip buddy 🙏
@wanderingwhere we did, recovering now at home lol 😆
The scenery looked absolutely incredible! Makes me want to go and check the area out
well worth it top spot and ur on the scottish borders, wait til you see the park up i found in the next episode less than 20 clicks up the road, the whole area is amazing and next to no people
Yet again an epic adventure. Great video. Cheers.
Think those bits of wood at the bottom of the door at the Bothy is to stop sheep getting in and making a mess of the place if someone forgets to close the door or if the wind blows it open.
That location is certainly out in the wilds these trips just get more and more wild by the day. That Jet boil is a great piece of kit my old stove takes ages to make a brew.
Ive always said it mate 'big kahunas' ever sinse you went down some massively long pitch black cave. Wild car camping to the max mate
👍
I love the way you hand-talk to the camera as you’re driving!😁
Adam I have finally watched all of your videos and I have come to the point where i find myself checking every few hours to see if you have uploaded anything new! You are by far mate the best channel on RUclips mate keep up the great work!!!
that some serious binge watching m8
Ay up.
I was told the wooden slats across the doorway were to prevent sheep from entering if someone leaves the door open.
Nothing more stressful than watching you cook in the crib 😂😂. Great vid though mate as always 👍
Love your videos. You have a great energy and humour. Beautiful Northumberland. I love that there are off-grid places still in Britain....can I just say, though, that until not that long ago, we used actual maps to navigate. Might be an idea to have a backup to devices as well as reacquainting with "vintage" skills such as map reading ;-). You never know (you know), such skills may be required again...in the not too distant future. Good to keep the neural pathways firing. Brilliant that you get out there, though, and have such pleasure in the landscape.
yeh deffo with u on the paper maps, i spend alot of time 'out here' really should start learning and having them as back up, its not often im this far out with no ppl but would be good for these now and again jaunts
If I was like this guy I’d always have a paper map. They’re easy to read and navigate to. I did a few thousand around America with one. Sometimes a satnav will take you through places you really shouldn’t be going.
Excellent video as always Adam. The slats across the bottom of the doorway, are to stop sheep pushing against the door and damaging it. That road is defiantly motorway quality 😂😂 . Keep them coming.
ahh thats cool cheers didnt realise, ... the road lol deffo 70mph all day long 😉
Probably some people don’t shut the door properly, stops you walking knee deep in sheep ‘ dip’ I suppose.
Hey Adam, please can you do a video on your (navigation app) and how are you go about setting routes/destinations etc??? Thanks, Ben 👍🏕️😎
yeh will try to include some of it in future videos good call
@@wanderingwhere Thanks buddy 👍🏕️😁
This is my back yard your in a area of the pennine way me and my m8 lundyswildcamp/ bushcraft frequent the area regularly, your at just a mountain refuge hut as you get 5 seasons of weather there in one day . Hope you enjoyed it over the fence is an old drovers road for cattle . also whiskey used to be smuggled into england aswell ,
great area cant wait to come back 👍
Love the videos man! Convinced my girlfriend to go car camping, we're from Scotland, loads of beautiful places 😍
ahh brilliant m8, phw scotland well ur in the right for it 😀
Keep doing what your doing, your fab and we love watching you xx ❤❤
Loving the isolation you found, apart from the passing car with Kermit & miss (squealing) piggy of course.
Great looking area that is & that Dere Road was built only 3 years after my own name!
Onwards and upwards.
loved it m8
@@wanderingwhere I mentioned this last week but it was buried in a reply to another reply...
There's the Persied meteor shower next month that will peak on the weekend of the 12th / 13th August, best viewed from a dark location looking to the north east around midnight (although you can still see them leading up to & after that weekend too) so if there's clear skies around then it should be quite the spectacle.
Another great video mate! That road looked proper sketchy coming in but was worth it at the end for sure! That was cool being right on the Scottish border too!
love these roads though just middle of nowhere and no one, not often u hit roads like that in england
@@wanderingwhere that is true to be fair yeah! Will be looking forward to your next video as always 🤩
Brilliant as always Adam x
Great scenery Adam.
love it Adam! That boffy is killer pal. I found one of these kind of roads in Wales through a forest! I love roads like that, even though I have a 4x4 I don't go too crazy off road
yeh love finding these little bothies, nearly always in awsome spots, these werent too bad the roads some of the ones in wales cant get pretty intense with their high hedges and fast racing locals that know the roads
@@wanderingwhere yeh I know what you mean, like Cornwall / Devon! I’ve got a cracking spot for you though pal, I emailed you, have a table for you as well
Going to watch this later with a cup of tea, I look forward to every episode mate 👍
I have a theory about the wooden planks across the door, to stop the sheep getting in if the door is left open?
yeh think ur right
Belter as always. Thank you stay blessed
Great video as always 👍
O yes good video in great locations out there on your own. You can’t beat it. Cheers. B. K
You should have checked out the tarras valley nature reserve when you were on the Scottish border. Great little park up next to the river. The wild goats have their kids just now and it's a great place to see birds of prey .
oh wow wish id know, one for the next trip, gotta say loving this scottish borders area, not sure many ppl spend too much time round here and theres so much to see and explore
Yeah it's a shame people always continue up the m74 at Carlisle instead of turning onto the A7 when they come to Scotland.
The what3words park ups are
Kilngreen carpark(it says no parking but ignore the sign) treaty.unfilled.stands.
Hillside park up. finer.lecturing.indirect.
Nature reserve park ups.
Hardstanding park up. trams.wires.pattrolled.
Grass park up. motored.wiser.dull
Great video again, fantastic scenery ❤
Thankyou 🙏
Love the videos!
Big scissors aleays at hand, sliced the cheffy way, second cook every time, not even touching, is my camping method 😅 great fun as ever Adam your a legend. Harry
yeh used to use scissors have to hunt them out think they got 'removed' from their box
Great vid Adam 😁 Beautifull place 😁 Uno uno stay stealthy ave a good one 😎
brilliant video as always bud. one of the biggest worries is always leaving the car these days. has some right strange ones stop and chat late at night too but for the most part they are just out for a smoke or sommut 👍
yeh, dont mind if there a couple of cars there overnight but always a bit wary to leave mine alone parked somewhere like u say always a worry
awesome video.
I bought pretty much everything I need and more to go car camping.
I ordered some of it online but it should arrive soon.
so I'll see if i can go car camping in the near future.
have a great day everyone.
ah brilliant your going to love it, really
Loved the vid and have a good weekend,🏴⛺️🚙
cheers buddy u too
Brilliant video the scenery was amazing you are a legend
An American tourist in Berwick backpacking towards the border asked me, how will they know when they're in Scotland?
I said when everyone starts calling your husband Shagger instead of mate 😂❤
Enjoy your trip around the Scottish Borders
you know you know you’re in the right with its breathtaking beauty x
loved it cant wait to get back
@@wanderingwhere I live Hawick in Scottish Borders some lovely hill in the surrounding area to explore Melrose,3 and Rufus law. It’s a favourite & unforgettable greys mares tail x
Big love back and thanks again for another great video😃x
🙏
Loving your videos. Making us think 🤔 as we have just got a Ford Galaxy 😊. We will let you know 😂😊
Not sure how long uve followed the channel but i used a ford galaxy for nearly 2 years car camping .... its Very doable 😀👍
I wouldn’t be saying “fire” that loud.!! 😂
Another great one 👌🏻👍🏻😎
I was in that car park at the start a couple of weeks ago and I thought i had seen it in one of your vids and managed to track the vid down.
😀 good spot that one 👌
Fantastic vid as always 😊❤. Love ya cooking, its legendary 😂. No wonder ya so thin when all u eat is charcoal 😂😉. Ya know ya know 😁👍. Xxxxx
lol 👍
Keep them coming mucka 😊
Inspired me some months back to live in my van love the vids always
fantastic m8 😀
Willing to bet it gets more stinky in the back of my Peugeot van than when your cooking mate (dogs fault) honest 😂
Great video as usually buddy. Maybe you should get some maps? They would help so much with the navigation. And don’t run out of batteries 😂. Do both, os maps on the phone, print them out.. sorted. I have saved so many people over the years lost in the hills with flat batteries..
never thought to print them out not a bad call, its one of the reason ive not bothered with os maps as of their price and need for so many but to print the area out im going to not a bad call
Love your videos you have so much energy 😄
thank so much
When we go northumberland we tend to stick to the coast
yeh its great coastline, i still need to visit seahouses
You’re an absolute joy
another quality spot and great video and keep up the great cooking skills master classes ;)
cheers buddy
Wow that place looks amazing but like you said alone is pretty scary as in when and if you need help brave man but fantastic adventure ❤
Can be but can also be very cool away from it all and everyone
Always do enjoy your videos haha :D Big fan here.
lovely views mate and i always end up having a bigger smile from ya vids =]
I got inspired by you, when i went to Wales... I found some nice squeaky gates is all i say lol.
I hope to travel Scotland myself one day looks so magical and lovely.
Peace 'n' Love
I like the way you never panic about time, i m be worrying about running out of light, which was the nearest town, was this kielder area?
lol, im always running late so why worry ..... yeh just above kielder
Adam.. I’ve been looking for a video of you putting a floor into one of your vehicles. Were they vids or just notifications…just asking, keep up the great work (and I don’t mean ‘the grind’ 😂😂
Just a notification but i think on facebook, hoping, hairy toes crossed to have 'that' video out next wednesday, everythings ready to put the floor in just waiting on the rain to stop at the minute so i can get it done 😀
Hi Adam, part of my Scotland trip at the end of August is visiting the Isle of Harris. Have you ever thought of going there?
yeh been looking it, mull and bute also .... the island over there look amazing 😉
I love your hiking videos more than camping in car...make more of that..big up👏
Ah brilliant thanks, i usually get comments the other way round and a personal level im really glad to read this one i love getting out on the hikes and it why i go car camping, always tried to include both for that exact reason so its always nice to hear people enjoying that part of the video aswell, thanks
Adam just keep doing what your doing love watching all walking and car camping 👍
Hi Adam, this is a great video. The scenery looks fantastic In the middle of nowhere. A real lonely place. If the food smells funny maybe you should’n eat it. Take care of yourself. See you in your next video. Greetings from Berlin Germany. It’s very hot 🥵 here at the moment. ca 37c on Saturday. ❤❤❤
cheers ... yeh the area and scenary made my job easy on this one 😀
loving the vids dude !
Cheers buddy much appreciated
Good morning my friend!
Morning :)
Loving the videos I only allowed to watch u when daughter home lol xxx keep stealthy
lol, brilliant
Think adding water to them rice packets isn’t the way to go.
Blotoutdoorsshow who I watch just does it for a few minutes in his jetboil without water.
without water wow, i sometimes throw them in the mix i think they just need warming there already cooked
another great video. 💯
amazing scenery. 🏞️
any plans for a wild camp soon? ⛺
100% trying to plan a 2 or 3 day camp, got rations apacks and everything i need just need a location and to get in the car and drive there 😉, trying to get a floor in the kia then its hopefully the video after that
@@wanderingwhere
2 or 3 days.... brilliant. 👍
This is my local stomping ground for camping it's a cracking area atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Loved it m8 just need to find a decent spot to leave the crib for that spithope bothy, phone was telling me the little housing estate down the way but felt a bit off
@@wanderingwhere that's a safe place to leave the car mate 👍🏻
I know that area really well. It’s great to explore but can’t be camping in the ranges. Nice video. Drop me a line if you want some more hidden gems for your next trip
deffo would yeh be great heading up that way again at some point, why no camping in ranges, curious ?
Good thing you got the bacon sandwich in first!
lol yeh, bit ruff that one 😉
Those sheep were eyeballing you thinking "Who is that mad person talking to himself and waving his hands about.. Come on my little lamb lets get away from this wally" Lamb " its ok mamy its a Moo Tuber".. 😂😂
That lambs the mad one.
he's out here moo-ing like a cow haha.
@seceret_squirrel256 lol 👍
Why are there no trees! So much of the UK without trees on their hills n mountains. 🇦🇺🦘 🌳
❤😊
as you know im ill and evry day i look forward to your videos. doing the stuff i cant do now. I would suggest making kebab sticks wit red peppers oniun and mushrooms/ big feast for you. will send a email of mine and thanks for your content
hey buddy, was very close to doing kebabs on this one, think ive seen them done on a ridge monkey could be worth a try 😀👍
@@wanderingwhere witing tp see it lol give me a mention
👍
I'm from the States, what side of England would u recommend to site see, the East or West. I have been really wanting to get over there. Luv these videos Adam, your doing such a great job buddy. Lots of luv from Florida. I really get bummed out when these videos come to an end, they really do make me happy. 👍🇺🇲🗽🇬🇧👍
Definitely the west coast. You have the lake district, north and south Wales, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall. 👍
Completely agree, you cant beat the lake district and further up is west scotland, amazing place
The Lake District is to busy now up the west coast, cut in land through Yorkshire into Northumberland then head back towards Dumfries and Galloway
Or go out of season
Yeh id say the same go west side, cornwall devon in the south all of wales along the coast and into snowdon and then upto the lake district, ud have the option of maybe hitting the peak district between wales and the lakes also on the way up, this route would give options of beaches and hiking ..... bring an umbrella just sayin'
Map and compass
Lochcarron gala, on Saturday
do they have old skool scottish sport like caber tossing and such really like to get to one this year, drove through jedburgh last weekend think it was their summer gala
Anyone else see " Dave " in the clouds at 24:24 ?
Just 😆
I went wildcamping just two weeks ago and came back to me car to find both front windows smashed in but they never took a bloody thing from the car, those people just want to wreck the lives of everyone they can its bloody unfathomable.
oh no m8 so sorry to hear that and i think thats all our fears just ppl riding round doing no good
Spanking bit of car camping 👍 think you need to bin the chicken and rice and go for something different 🫣
yes and yes lol wont be cooking it again
Probably to keep the sheep from having a dump in the shed lol
And to stop the wild panthers from scratching the door lol
😉
You took the long way to get there the planks on the door is to stop sheep getting in 😂😂
lol honestly i looked at so many ways to get up there, almost parked in scotland near a farm to come up that way 😉
😂😂😂 never had any problems with parking overnight that first place you seen 3 cars parked is a cracking place to walk and camp takes you onto the Pennine Way keep the fun and entertainment coming I'm new to the channel and love it 😎😎👍👍
Get a meat thermometer cost around £5-10 saves food poisoning
I would have died if my car had broken down in such a remote area.
Yeh was a bit of a worry got lucky
