Dude! I'm actually going to download this video in case it gets taken down for some dumb reason and I'm going to treasure this for a lifetime. I'm so happy that it starts from scratch because I've never built a Caipi V2 but I've always wanted one and the help I can get is at least two hours from where I live...well it was until I watched this video through. I feel confident enough doing this on my own, that's how detailed and simple your instructions are. Thank you isn't enough for the break-through you've just given me. I'm grateful all the way from New Zealand!!
Very good job there. That's the right way to go. To teach a d give the right information on the right way. And just with pictures. Lot of people out there cannot do the same doing video. Very important to invest time in this kind of videos. That way people get more a d more interested with your work and channel. Thanks for sharing and help. Keep doing jobs like this 👍
Your videos are effin awesome 👍👍👌👌very detailed which I like... I always thought the Capri was overpriced but I guess I'm gonna have to build one minus the crossfire 😁 keep it up your one of the best out there!!!
Fantastic, some nice info that I missed on my build, also gluing the elevons I have seen for the first time :D what I was missing is the setting of throws ( TBS provide nice template for that )
Gluing the elevons works really well if you have a nice stretchy and rubbery glue like Uhu por. It's strong but also very flexible so its great for hinges. Don't try using CA glue though, that would be terrible haha
Thank a lot great video , i have so search for a good build video but none is like yours ! My elevon need to be retouch !! ( i fly my z84 in waiting to maiden the caipi)
Man, I got-sta tell ya..... giving you an award here! Best "How To Video" I've seen of all the RC Builds. Some may be close but you've stepped over the top bar with how you merged the info together(Graphically Speaking) & the music flows. BUT How is the plane to fly? My 1st time seeing any of your stuff, I'll be LQQKing for more after this demonstration..... lmao, I'm leaving happy.(smiles) merry x-mas
Hey Bud, first off ,this was an awesome video. and for the jerk who gave a thumbs down ,I don't know why you don't love yourself.. stop hating lmao.. anyway great job as always. I have one video and I understand the work and editing that takes place to produce this quality video.. for the majority of us we love and appreciate your channel.. thanks and God bless.. ONE QUESTION : is the foam really durable or do you think I should cover it ... its a pain but I would if you think so... Thanks again....
Cheers man. I don't know why but someone pretty much always gives my videos a thumbs down almost as soon as I upload a video. I don't care though, I get way more thumbs up and that tells me all I need to know :) Yes, the foam is pretty tough, but I always laminate my aircraft anyway, and reinforce the leading edge of the wings with some thick tape. For the sake of a few extra grams I think its worth it, but its not necessary
You run your 4s voltage from vbat on your fc?? Seems like a tiny pad for that. And then you run your receiver and vtx power from the esc? Why not directly from vbat on the fc?
was wondering about the battery u used i noticed the c rating tbs give is over 20 i have the same battery and peek is 24c for 20s or whatever should i still use this battery
It's fine. GPS signals travel 20,000km from space through 100km of atmosphere and many kilometres of cloud. The signal won't suddenly be blocked by 5mm of foam 😂
I went to maiden my s800 today. Setup in the garage was fine, binding, mixing etc. When I chucked it I had no control. My X7 kept saying "telemetry lost" so I set it on the wall and walked around and away from the model whilst looking at the rssi range check and it went from 60 to 0 at around 6ft away. I flashed my x7 with the latest firmware making sure I had d8 mode as I have a d4r2. Im a complete newbie to the hobby, any advice?the voltage to the receiver is fine btw 5v spot on from UBEC on esc
I'd suggest checking the antennas on the d4r2 and making sure they are properly connected and also are undamaged. Only times I've ever had terrible range like that is when one of my antennas got broken
Hi! great guide!! what about adding an 1.3ghz VTX and a Dragon Link Tx? i've some spare parts but i don't know if it'll fit or handle... Thanks! great vid!
Do you have a magnetometer on board the FC? I noticed your GPS did not have one. How were you able to get the direction arrow? Sorry for the noob question.
Giz! Congratulation...I'm a fan and supporter of your videos. However I need some useful infos becuase I'm ending assembling ready to maiden. I choose a not PNP solution with lighter staff. looking some other review about, I'm now a bit worried about launch , cause many report its tendency to nose crash. Is it so? I know very well and consider usefull the FW_NAV _LAUNCh procedure, but generally I don't execute it on maiden. Any suggestion? Mine will be so: 1300 gr ready to fly with 3s 5200 multistar and engine SUNNYSKY GT2216 - 1400 KV . (Should be 1:1 thrust) I've some doubt on Lipo(3S) and engine, quite different from PNP solution with cobra and 4S. FCB OMNIBUS F4 Pro INAV 2.0 and all others up(go pro session , Runcam etc)
Yes, the Caipi has a tendency to nose down on launch and crash. The best way to launch it is with 90-100% throttle, whilst simulataniously pulling back a little on the pitch. Make sure you throw it hard but also level. I myself use nav launch mode, which seems to work well 80% of the time. To avoid damaging your Caipi I'd suggest you always launch it over some bushes or long grass, so if the launch fails it'll have a soft impact
Gian Luca Mazza Mine is about 1400-1500g, which according to the TBS Caipirinha manual is about right. It might seem heavy on the ground, but in the air it'll feel very floaty. It'll constantly want to climb :p
Hi Giz, first of all I have been learning a lot from yours builds, really awesome videos, have been applying them to some ft foam wings, but now I want to go for a caipi2, I have a question I already have a cobra cp2814 1800kv motor, you think it would be ok, or should I go for lower KV, thanks a lot greetings from argentina
The Caipirinha is designed to be a long range endurance aircraft, so ideally you want a slower motor spinning a bigger prop. Yeah you could probably use a 1800kv motor, but you'd need to use a smaller prop, and that would compromise flight time
Haha I know, I spent ages looking for one but they are like gold dust. The at2814 1000kv very well though, I reckon with a 5200 4s pack and some careful flying you'll get 45km range and over a hour in the air with it
You can probably find them on Hobbyking and Bang good, there's also plenty on Ebay: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mini-Step-Down-Regulator-Voltag-Power-Supply-Module-4-5v-55v-to-3-3v-5v-9v-12v/282264268042?hash=item41b842ed0a:m:mCFrnDiQec75BSDj8N-CL7g
In the video I do say that turning off the barometer is optional. No you don't need the barometer for alt hold, as the FC can get altitude information from GPS. I personally find using GPS for altitude information works well so that's why I use it

Dude! One of the best build videos I've ever seen. You have raised the bar.
I am not going to say any names but some guys on here that do videos don't even come close to the detailed instructions this guy give. Great job!
Tottaly Derrick 😉👌
Tout ce qu'on attend d'un tuto, un grand merci pour ce travail.
I love detailed build videos like this. Thank you!!😊🤩😊

Gold standard video, such a huge help!
Exactly what I needed. You did all the research and put a great instructional video together!
Best video about this by far.
seriously mate your build videos are excellent been into this hobby form the beginning but still learn from your vids
Best build video E.V.E.R.! Period! As a noob one can only dream some of the bigger FPV names take an example from your amazing work!
wow, such an elaborate description, thank you
A very impressive how-to! Cheers!
FlyingRock
Agreed! Some of this stuff is pure voodoo!!
Such an awesome video, I've always wanted to do long range since flying fpv quads. This video makes it easy thanks. I want to do 2.4 vid
Really this video is very well done. It must have been alot of work!
+1 sub.
Nice detailed build guide.
way better video then the TBS one
Great build love this wing 😀
Wow awesome video probably the best one I’ve seen yet keep up the great work you’ve just earned yourself a new subscriber
I do enjoy your videos. The content is excellent. Good job and keep it up.
Man you deserve appreciation ;)
Great job...very neat hand work which I like very much. No parts, wires showing. It looks ugly
Spectacular build video! Amazingly well done! Subbed!
Your videos are effin awesome 👍👍👌👌very detailed which I like... I always thought the Capri was overpriced but I guess I'm gonna have to build one minus the crossfire 😁 keep it up your one of the best out there!!!
You wont regret getting one, it flys awesome!
Love your videos I think im gonna build this one btw very detailed diagrams love it
Nice animation 👍

Superbe vidéo .
Magnifique merci pour le partage ;)
Hi friend. How to connect the same but to Matek F405 Wing?
Hey Bud, first off ,this was an awesome video. and for the jerk who gave a thumbs down ,I don't know why you don't love yourself.. stop hating lmao.. anyway great job as always. Giz FPV. Thanks again bud, looking forward to your next video.. Happy days flying.
Thanks for posting. What glue are you using?
Thank you for your beautiful job. But it's really too hard for me and many persons.
Hey, do you need extra weight to the front to keep center balance?
You run your 4s voltage from vbat on your fc?? Seems like a tiny pad for that. And then you run your receiver and vtx power from the esc? Why not directly from vbat on the fc?

Thanks a lot ,man. Building one right now and your video is helping.
One question: what benefits of using crosfire tx and rx over Sbus?
Thanks
The CRSF protocol is faster than sbus, but more useful is the fact is also transmits telemetry
great :)
the voltage regulators (12v and 5V) are essentials? I will use the Furiousfpv Lightning F35 fc.... Thanks!
Hey there. First of all, great video! Just need to know if putting the GPS underneath causes less signal due to more penetration needed? Cheers :)
It's fine. GPS signals travel 20,000km from space through 100km of atmosphere and many kilometres of cloud. The signal won't suddenly be blocked by 5mm of foam 😂
@@gizfpv thank you 👌
молодец братек!
Thank
What does CA stand for in CA glue?
did u use UART 1 for crossfire?did it worked?as I know that one is inverted for sbus....CMIIW
Is setting up the Radio similar between your FrSky and the FrSky QX7? I'm hoping to emulate your process, but I have a different radio controller.
The basic principle would be the same, but the menu layouts would be significantly different

Giz FPV they look ok but I guess it worth a try, I'll order a set tonight, thanks buddy. Love your channel btw
Giz FPV would you have a link to the replacement antenna?
Hi! great guide!! what about adding an 1.3ghz VTX and a Dragon Link Tx? i've some spare parts but i don't know if it'll fit or handle... Thanks! great vid!
I actually added a 2.4ghz VTX to this Caipi not long after I made this video. Haven't maxed out the range of it yet 😊
Hi Giz, I finally managed to get a caipi in Argentina , is that lipo multistar 5200 4s good for it?thanks a lot
When do you use Uhu Por and when do you use the CA glue? For example the wooden piece on the spar, or the glue on the spar itself? Is it Uhu or CA?
I used Uhu por for everything, apart from the servo horns which were glued in with CA
Do you have a magnetometer on board the FC? I noticed your GPS did not have one. How were you able to get the direction arrow? Sorry for the noob question.
No, no magnetometer. Fixed wing aircraft don't need one. The aircraft is able to deduce direction from the GPS
Thank you for clearing up that one for me
Greetings, excellent video and wing. Tell me where can buy such a wing?
Also did u havr to buy any additional connectors
Hi, do you think you can scan the winglets? I'm trying to replace the bunny ears of my s800.
May I ask what is the overall take off weight of your Caipirinha? You made this poor little wing so heavy :D
It's about 1.4kg, which acording to the TBS Caipirinha manual is about right
Giz! Congratulation...I'm a fan and supporter of your videos. However I need some useful infos becuase I'm ending assembling ready to maiden.

As i expected!!! Great...i will. What's your AUW than. Mine will be 1300 gr on 3S 5200, and 1400 on 4S. It really seems piggy
Gian Luca Mazza Mine is about 1400-1500g, which according to the TBS Caipirinha manual is about right. It might seem heavy on the ground, but in the air it'll feel very floaty. It'll constantly want to climb :p
Great! I'm almost ready to maiden. Hope can show you a good score. Tk for your answers.
Is that a 10C are 20C lipo?
Thanks mate, great breakdown.
With the INAV settings, are these going to be the same regardless of which board I use? I have the Furious F35?
Tobias Knowles The majority of the inav settings will be similar. The port settings will probably be different though
Hi Giz, first of all I have been learning a lot from yours builds, really awesome videos, have been applying them to some ft foam wings, but now I want to go for a caipi2, I have a question I already have a cobra cp2814 1800kv motor, you think it would be ok, or should I go for lower KV, thanks a lot greetings from argentina

cool I would try that combo, thanks a lot
Hi trying to get CG right just wondering how you done it .
For mine I had to add about 70g to the nose. I just used some coins
@@gizfpv thanks for help love videos
Great! Can you measure FC bay dimensions in mm and send it to me?!
I cant find this step down regulators like you have
You can probably find them on Hobbyking and Bang good, there's also plenty on Ebay: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mini-Step-Down-Regulator-Voltag-Power-Supply-Module-4-5v-55v-to-3-3v-5v-9v-12v/282264268042?hash=item41b842ed0a:m:mCFrnDiQec75BSDj8N-CL7g
Btw how do you feel it compares to the S800?
The Capi makes the S800 feel like a toy 😂 It's considerably more powerful. It'll go straight up like a rocket with no problem
Giz FPV and stability-wise?
Very stable. I can let go of the sticks and it flys itself
Do you have the complete dump for me, and what Inav version you run?
Maby you have link's to parts?:)
Giz why set barometer to none, don't you need that for alt hold mode?
In the video I do say that turning off the barometer is optional. No you don't need the barometer for alt hold, as the FC can get altitude information from GPS. I personally find using GPS for altitude information works well so that's why I use it
Giz FPV I didn't know that, I'll set mine to off and try
Really that much 10° looks loads?? On the control services
5-10 degrees yes. That's how I've set mine and it works perfectly
