    I do realize this is an older video, but I just wanted to let you know I just got this wing for Christmas and your video has been extremely helpful in assisting me on the build. Thank you and please don't stop making videos. I have used your channel on other builds as well.

    The epoxy doesn't soak in the foam, so it usually just ends up being a thin film of glue between the parts. The epoxy is brittle, so doesn't handle loads well without cracking. Contact type cements (UHU Por, Welder for EPP, or Foam Cure, etc), work much better. They provide a flexible, strong bond. Even though they stick up pretty quickly, definitely plan to give them overnight to bond up well.

    very cool, Im going to have to get a wing to start flying something other than quads and hexes. Or should I say to start crashing something else. Probably more likely. Thanks for all the great content!

    • @WX4CB
      @WX4CB 6 лет назад +1

      i would start something like a rightwing mini-z, the caipirinha is a heavy sob and is not really suited to solo launches.

    • @HDgodfrey
      @HDgodfrey 6 лет назад

      Thanks allot, I fortunately have a little brother (who's not so little) that I can always make help me. Would you still go that way if you had launch help?

    • @WX4CB
      @WX4CB 6 лет назад +1

      if you are new to wings, yes, the mini-z is a small light race wing, the caipi 2 is definitely not for beginners. i would also suggest something like the S800 or AR wing or zohd dart for beginners as they can stand up to a ton of abuse.

    • @HDgodfrey
      @HDgodfrey 6 лет назад +1

      Thanks, that's good looking out. I like the looks of both of those models. I really love the RC/FPV community!

  • @MCsCreations

    Really nice, man! Really beautiful wing! 😀
    But if you put a FC with iNav, with stabilization and so on, it won't be "Caipirinha" anymore. You have to pilot it like a drunk person to be. LOL 😂

    really great wing, I love mine, be careful of the gopro mount in crashes. brain3d is working on a replacement TPU mount, i have a prototype and it works ok, as far as the power, i have 2 xt 60s on the pdb, i have 2 in and 1 out so i can run dual batteries if i want. as far as clue i used welders/e6000 glue - as far as pronunciation, i pronounce it cappy-reena or kai-pa-rinia - who knows whether that's right or not lol

      Thanks for the heads up. If I need to I'll design an upgrade and pop it on Thingiverse. I'll try not to crash it! (Like that'll happen! :D )

  • @Michaelfromfremont

    I don't know how I've ever got along without one of these!!!
    Did you say that there were options for some sort of hinge for the ailerons? I'm hoping to keep this as robust as possible, so could you please explain a bit more and maybe a recommendation ?
    Also, I'm wanting to believe that we're able to paint the wood in the build, just to customize it a bit? Maybe even be able to paint the canopy part too, which is black and show nothing but finger prints?
    All in all, this looks like a great build and I appreciate your detailed explanations in all things!
    Very nice video. Hoping to hear what you may have to say about my questions :)
    Best!
    M

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  6 лет назад +1

      The tape option is the one recommended by TBS and I've used it on lots of planes and it works great. You can paint the wood but you'll need to seal it first. The canopy is plastic and needs to flex in able to close so any paint would flake off. Happy flying!

    Why is this wing so much harder to launch than say, the AR Wing Pro? The CII seems to want to nose in almost immediately when launching, whereas the AR Wing Pro(and a lot of other wings) just fly out very easily with a side arm toss.

    I've been flying an inav built out version of the capi 2 for a while now, and yes there's quite a bit of cabling required but not so much distance that a twisted pair was required. A clean power supply will hold you in good stead.. I've used a matek F405 board and a 6S capable PDB. If they had been available when I first built it I'd have used the PDB FCHUB-W, which is purpose built for wings, and the F405 just plugs into to using a ribbon cable. My next capi2 will use one of these. I launch mine from the vertical over my head, and you'll need to nav_fw_launch_max_angle = 90, nav_fw_launch_accel=100 (1G), nav_fw_launch_motor_delay=250. Looking forward to seeing your inav video.

      Thanks for the Post, I've been talking to it iNav development team and one of the videos I plan to do with the new TBS wing is on installation best practice. And funnilly enough, use of a power distribution board to reduce the strain on the flight controller is one of the things that's on the list. Thanks again, happy flying!

    • @joolski
      @joolski 6 лет назад

      The digital servos which come with the PNP build draw quite a bit of current when under load (in flight conditions) and will brown out most FC's, which as you know never ends well :-( Loving the iNav series of videos, and happy flying to you too !

    I am looking to progress from my Parrot Disco. Does anyone know whether I could retro fit the Parrot C.H.U.C.K and flight controller system into the Caipirinha airframe with success? Or whether there is a suitable airframe out there in which I could? Thank you.

    • @Ammothief41
      @Ammothief41 6 лет назад +1

      Awesome, thanks! Curious how to best get a heavy wing like that off the ground. Have you thought about the inav auto launch? Thinking of throwing it over head and relying on stabilization to keep it going while I turn around and get on the sticks.

    • @WX4CB
      @WX4CB 6 лет назад

      Jason Reel thats one way to do it, but if u launch it right, u should be fine. I just dont have a lot pf strength in my right arm

    • @austntexan

      That motor is a monster for a wing this size. It's really difficult to build and hit CG when it's hauling +100g behind the CG. I've been trying to figure out a lighter setup for it using ~65-80g motor and maybe 3S instead of 4S. Maybe 2216/1100KV with a 9x5 folder. It'd work if you kept the build light I think.
