Thanks for this, I'm in France, I changed from the ECO setting - strangely nothing about it in the instruction leaflet that came with it, but went on line and found the rest of the instructions. I found the ECO setting meant it was switching off after 15 minutes, also that the coffee wasn't hot enough. so changed both. I set the strength to maximum and grind to 3. I live in a soft water area, and filter my drinking water. So, again changed the setting on this because it was asking me to descale it every two weeks. As you say it's a really good machine for the price. Very pleased with my purchase.
Great machine, as below take it off ECO mode to get hotter coffee. Adjusting the PH level and temperature of the water is the first thing you should do. Adjusting front dial and black dial where the beans are until you are happy with the taste. Note it takes a cup or 2 before the bean adjustments take effect. Personally I prefer to use a separate milk frother to warm my milk to the temperature i like. Finally the DeLonghi RUclips channel has lot's of videos on how to change the settings and descale.
Thanks for the upload, very informative. Is there a way to adjust the amount of beans that are used for a coffee as i like a strong coffee flavour and the wife prefers a weaker?
great review, thinking about getting one of these but my wife wasn't too sure about the frothing of the milk, I think your review has persuaded her ...cheers
No you don't have to. The pod machines have very quick warm up and good standby but this machine you'll want to set it to go off after a few hours to conserve. You can decide the limit using the controls. I don't think one option is 247 though
Thank you for the review. Do you think you can put chocolate powder in the little bin as well or it will break the machine? My children like hot cocoa.
To be honest I think it would clog the brew unit. But no reason why you couldn't add it to milk and use the froth want. But no, not through the brew itself :(
This is a great review. Thank you for doing it. Do you have any idea how much water it uses on the twice a day rinse? Im thinking I would use it 3 or 4 times a day and would turn it off between use so it might use lots of water on the self cleanse?
Hey thanks for question. I've been experimenting with so many brands! And of course it totally depends on taste. For me, in my culture and personal preference, I like my espresso strong, rich, without acidity. My go-to for that has ended up being Kimbo, Espresso Prestige. The only one I've hated so far (sorrrrry!) is Ikea sold as Kaffe Hela Bonor here. And if I can afford it, Illy Classic 100% Arabica is a treat but at 10 Euro for a little tin, it's usually on my Christmas list!
@@AlexSass thank you for your reply! I’m Portuguese and i like my espresso strong, with good crema and no acidity. I live in UK and here 250gr of illy coffee bean cost about £5 which is around 6€. Ill have a go on that Kimbo sometime!
Be sure to have the setting hot, the grind small and beans good (dark is the way for me). But yes it's really good as espresso and not so much a filter coffee equiv. I just press double espresso. You can always press to add hot water. Yum yum yum
look up Tyler Martin - how to make stronger coffee, I had the same issue, and now my coffee is so strong. Basically, you are pressing the expressos 1 or 2 cup for 5 seconds and something starts flashing, then you press it again and it sets that strength. It is also mentioned in the instruction booklet, but you would miss it if you didn't know what you were looking for.
1 - DO NOT USE MINERAL WATER. Mineral water is hard. If you've got mineralisation all over the outside of the machine, imagine the limescale buildup on the boiler and pipes. 2 - That blinking red light in the middle is telling you that you are overdue to descale your machine. You need to both use soft water and descale regularly, or you're basically doing a speed run on how to destroy a $500 coffee machine.
Thanks for the very informative video! I am planning to buy this one. Will not subscribe thpught. I am autistic and hypersensitive to sound. It was a nightmare to watch your video because of all the breathing and sniffing :(

Ace, thank you! It's odd that it seems to gain perfect pressure only when I've NOT descaled it. Risky but heck... tasty
Totally. Once you figure it all out the coffee is much stronger
Great to know about the eco 🤓

Yes you can dial on the front :)
This is actually an excellent review. Thank you.
Thank you very much . Does this machine have a cup warmer? How can we use the cup warmer?
Mine does not. Although you could use the steam function.

That's great, thank you. Hope you both enjoy
How much time does it take you to extract a shot of expresso from its first drip? Is 15 seconds normal for new Maginifica S machines?
Yes that seems about right
Do you have to turn it off after every use...I usually just keep my Keurig and standard coffee maker on 24/7

@@AlexSass thank you
Thanks. Did you face a problem with different quantity in 2 cups?
I didn't notice one but I've heard of that on a forum.
Do you have it for a long time? Is it still working?
Yes indeed. Must be two years now and still working very well.
Thanks for making such a wonderful video. By any chance do you know how this fare against the Philips 3200 coffee machine?
Hi, Thank you. I've not tried the Phillips 2200 to be honest. If I get a chance I'll update :)

Is the steam burning the tips of the leaves on your tree?
Hehe probably! But it loves the waste water.
I have the same plant and now to be coffee machine. The universe is talking to me lol
Which coffee beans do you use? Thanks

Thank you 😊
ECAM has worse steam performance compare to ESAM, I got both and that's how I found out.

I am sorry to hear that. I am autistic.
