well if it does not do better. despite its price then its a scam or garbage product XD but that doesnt mean cheap = garbage since being cheap but doing better = good product :D
+Eber Antony I'm sorry, I tried to be polite in your last review of a soundbar, but these past two soundbar reviews are inaccurate, and I hope you read this comment the whole way through, as I actually want to help you improve your already well-produced videos. First, you claim that you are qualified to review such an audio product because you are "experienced" and "love listening to music in [your] spare time, and quality DOES matter." Really? In your last review of a soundbar, you admitted that you'd knowingly downgraded your audio setup for aesthetics, so evidently you don't care about audio quality (or at least don't put it first), though that is the most important function of a speaker, not looks! As far as audio knowledge, you couldn't identify a line RCA cable or even what order of magnitude sampling rates are measured in, when a five-second Google search would have made your previous review that much more accurate! Upsampling a signal WILL NOT reduce noise, no matter how much you (over)pay for the DSP, that's not how digital audio and noise floors work. A 2.5" midrange is a tiny driver, not "fairly large" (A large midrange would be 7" in diameter, such as on Paradigm's Concept 4F). You are NOT experienced in the world of audio, which (listen to me) is perfectly FINE, so long as you take the time to do your research before making a popular video that contains a few inaccurate points and overconfident proclamations. Obviously, you are very skilled at presenting a product both visually and will a confident tone, and I truly respect that. I have no skill at presenting products, filming them, or making a high quality, pleasing review. All I'm asking is that you work to improve the information in these videos, and I (and many others) would enjoy them much more! :)
lol....naim is a great audiophile company...even on naim's own forum many naim fans have this item and love it with some wanting additional units (in addition to $$$$ expensive naim 2.1 systems)....lastly your post sounds a bit pretentious...explain 'audiophile'.
The cooling fins at the back does not cool the drivers (as in speakers). It only cools the amp mainly. You should try ADAM AUDIO's active speaker system, their best value one that shock my audio senses are the A7X. If you can, you MUST review them, even better, pair them with your best DAC. Back then, that speaker system was my end game, today, it's the bigger brother of A7X's.
I really hope you read all your comments, or at least this one. Seriously guys. Your intros are... therapeutic, to say the least. Keep up the really good work! It definitely shows that you put in a lot of thought, creativity and work into your videos. And it definitely doesn't go unappreciated.
Compared to a sonos playbar + sub the price is certainly justifiable as it completely blows Sonos out of the water, hands down. If you are to buy one of these you really must try using Tidal instead of Spotify - they include 3 free months for a reason. The only wireless speaker which competes with this is the Devialet Phantom which is absolutely phenomenal. The Mu-So might be a bit more tidy and neat in its sound but the Phantom speakers are so mighty and massive yet clear that it mostly comes down to taste. It not only costs more than your average speaker, it plays much better too.
Eber, I have had a Mu-So for just over 6 months. I use it daily and the iOS app has been rock solid. Sorry to hear the android app isn't as well developed. At my home in the USA I have a Classe amplifier. If you ever get a chance to do an in-home test of a Classe Delta amplifier with a pair of B+W Nautilus speakers (or similar), don't pass up the opportunity. I picked up the Naim to have something decent at my apartment in China while living here.
A lot of people will no doubt moan at the price of this (as if they're even going to buy one), but trust me, go listen, you'll see why it costs so much, it's truly beautiful to listen to.
Great review, not because it's a positive review, but because this is entirely my experience with this subtle device apart from the connectivity issues which I didn't encounter. If you're indecisive... BUY IT 🎶🎶🎶🎶👏
Does this channel ever show anything that the average customer or working individual can afford? feel like I'm watching Linus's "over priced" tech tips.
For a wireless speaker yesh... but for $1500 you could buy a pair of Martin Logan Motion 15, Behringer a500, Schiit SYS and a Schiit Modi 2 Uber. Probably a much better system.
Amazing product! No offence, but I feel that you, and the hardwarecanucks team, just do not know enough about loudspeakers to review them. Maybe something to study up on... I definitly would like to see more speaker reviews though! The camerawork alone is incredible, and your reviews just keep on getting better! Btw: Maybe a good idea to compare this to the Klipsch stadium? Price is about the same I think.
Eh, this sounded a lot more like an ad than a review. Overly positive with marketing buzzwords. Other good wireless speakers have been around for a while now, both cheaper and more expensive ones, that also don't suffer from wireless signal degradation. The "speaker test" is also completely pointless as long as it's not compared to something else, as the viewer has no way of hearing what it actually sounds like.
By far not your best review. I could be deaf, but i didnt hear anything about the battery on this WIRELESS speaker. Thats a factor with people. I also heard nothing about charging. They went over the ports but it was optical, ethernet, 3.5, and usb out. 400 watts my ass. Mayyyyyyyyyybe 400max. You said this yourself, people who are buying this are going to know audio and care about that stuff. I love the channel, but i was not impressed with this review/overview/first look/ whatever you call it.
I dunno... selling it as a wireless speaker when its 2.4Ghz only? that's more of a mark against it before I even have a chance to consider it for $1500... though if its in a place that don't move you should be hardwiring it anyway... but as its bid as a convenience device it should be supporting 5Ghz if its gonna do wifi.... 2.4Ghz wifi is AWEFUL nowadays
Bought this speaker expecting to be amazed... Far from it. The sound quality is poor, the remote worthless 10ft from the unit, and blue tooth drops 20ft out. I'm so disappointed, it's disgusting.
Give this video as many likes as possible guys because he actually mentioned the music he used in the video. Also this will open Dmitri's eyes and from next time he'll mention the music used as well . No offense to you Dmitri :)
Wireless audio is still just a step-down I'd rather find a clever way to hide my cables if looks matter, it ain't that hard. Not that I really see any point in wireless audio other than for smaller speakers just to pull up the phone for your friends. A pc can be controlled by phone for music playback anyways. A stunning review in both visual and acoustic aspects, you've outdone yourself with the gorgeous B-Roll Eber. What song did you use during the intro? I can't find it in the description.
They're an old company that hand build music system's. They built a great reputation for great sounds systems back in the 70's and 80's. Their music system's are used in Bentley cars. Just bought a 2nd Hand system and believe you me this system packs a huge punch. Connected to Spotify Connect, it's seamless.
Interesting review of a speaker system, though I would have to classify this as a sound bar more than just a speaker system. I did find your review highly subjective and lacking in specific details that anyone interested in high end audio would want to know about. For instance, what is the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the system? What is the frequency response range and at what frequencies are the crossover bridges set to? Do you have the ability to adjust the frequency response through the unit or through an app? Without this information, just hearing you tell us that this sounds great has about as much impact as you doing a review of just about any Bose speaker system which might sound good, but has more distortion that most audiophiles would want to hear.
Where´s the point in showing the speakers output via RUclips, you can´t get any worse in audio quality. Also more Watts does NOT mean better audio quality. Dont get me wrong, Naim´s a really good brand for amplifiers, but they are just not known for there speakers. To end all of that, 1500$ barely even scratches mid-range Hi-Fi amplifiers, so your far from a high-end audio setup.
A simpler and arguably better solution: -Step 1: Buy a set of bookshelf speakers (300 dollars should get you quite a nice pair) -Step 2: Buy an amp (no more than 250 dollars) -Step 3: If you must have bluetooth, buy an AUX based receiver (No more than 80 dollars) And there you have it, better sound quality for a fraction of the price.
"Let's see what it means to own one of these... right after message from our sponsors!" Sorry to put it like this, but he whole video looks like one big message from your sponsor. The product's philosophy just doesn't make sense - to take some regular loudspeakers, destroy their sound imaging properties by stuffing them all into one box, degrade their sound quality severely by making them work wireless data input, but then highlight its expensive built-in Hi-Fi electronics? Electromagnetic loudspeaker is largely unchanged 100 year's old technology, and factors for optimal sound quality as well as pricing are well known. It seems the way to earn a quick buck from those uninformed is to 'anodize' this old technology in expensive metal case and use biased reviewers to justify ridiculous 1500$ price tag!?
How do you spend 10 minutes reviewing a set of speakers without once mentioning overall dimensions, number & size of drivers, & power rating? Is there a dedicated subwoofer built in, or is it just the front facing speakers shown in the video? Sure, you mention that you like the sound, but even then, you didn't give much detail. How loud can it go before you start having distortion issues? Are there any frequency ranges it struggles with or overemphasizes? I love the style of the videos on this channel. I think you guys do some of the best case reviews of anyone, especially when compared to those of similar length (~10 min). I'm not sure about the value of your other hardware reviews yet. You seem to focus too much on style to the detriment of other information. This was a review of a sound system. The primary concern should be how well it functions as a sound system. After watching this review, I feel like I still don't know. Is this another Bose Wave Radio style device that sounds great when listening from 2ft, but struggles when listening from 12ft, or is it a reasonable system to use in a large living room?
If you can get your hands on one, could you do a review and comparison of the Devialet Phantom? At $1900 for a wireless it's in the neighborhood as far as competition goes but is a much different physical design and puts out A LOT more power (3000W I think). I'd love to get a sound and build quality comparison.
There are many absolutely stunning sounding soundbars at the 500-800$ range, it is very hard to justify that price no matter how premium you want. I remember being at berlin tech expo and heard music seemingly from a small concert stage, I went around the corner and it was the demonstation of a Sonos sound bar, I was totally blown away.
That speaker light is very annoying unless you can turn all lights totally off. The speaker shape itself is perfect for an out of sight placement like inside a console with fabric doors, so the foot is kinda unnecessary unless its possible to remove it. Yes, it would probably change the sound characteristic somewhat but who doesn't love flexible lifestyle concepts? And that's what Naim is aiming at being with this thing after all. By the looks of things I'll bet you need a sub too and then you might as well go for a better traditional stereo system. So all in all I don't know what to think of this thing. It's a compromise like all these sound bar products. It's not quite there yet.
I can't tell if it's just the limitations of your microphone, but the part where you played the speaker in this video sounded muffled as Hell, like it was playing from behind a thin wall or something. Not high dynamic range at all.
its almost 2017 and pc guys see whats the reason why people buy high end audio stuff :D Welcome to the Audio world ! btw. you can be sure that Mu-So is only the first and cheap step :) P.S. You should try Devialet Phantom.
Would love you guys to review the Sony SRS-ZR5, ZR7 or JBL Playlist 150 (Once it's released) or the Harman Kardon OMNI+ line with build-in Chromecast Audio!
Is it really that expensive? all of my music is on my NAS and I also stream a lot through Spotify and Tidal (5 month free trial) so instead of buying a streamer, amplifier and speakers this does it all.
hey guys. nice review. i recently got a very interesting and unique high end wireless audio setup from oneaudio via a kickstarter campaign. they sound very crisp and clean and look incredible. would be really very interesting to hear what you think about them. heres a link. i have the oneclassics and two onemicros so far, but hopefully i'll eventually upgrade both the 'classic' and the portable 'micro' systems to the true 5.1 wireless surround sound they are apparently capable of.
Eber is bae

i really hate that.
that's pretty much all of the tech reviewer says these days
if it cost more but not "better" than the cheaper ones, then what's the point?
I always take it as a hypothesis for the review though
well if it does not do better. despite its price then its a scam or garbage product XD
but that doesnt mean cheap = garbage
since being cheap but doing better = good product :D
Alex Strömberg u can't get a Lambo for a price of a bike
This speaker has a really complicated naim.

Wonderful Job. Pleasure to watch!
Thank you so much Danny!

You can differentiate between the Canucks just by the video style :D amazing work! Again, more a piece of art ;)
Why do all Kickstarter and Indigogo projects all use the same opener. "Meet (the invention)"
Upsampling lol? Upsampling is a joke. I don't know why audio companies include this.
Try devialet phantom gold , reactor
just to much money for a blue tooth speaker.when your spending that much money and love music you want a real set up!
yes but how good does it sound when playing dota 2 or should i say the new dota 3 ;) (yeah i suck at making jokes, my bad)

No... not TheLedgend27...
you guys should film commercials, u would make hella money(share some with me???)
can you guys try the creative g5 dac and amp and compare it to the senheiser gsx1000
would rather spend 1500 on a pair of decent bookshelf speakers and integrated amplifier
Your review made me not want to use this to complicated and who the fuck is gonna buy this lel
Amazing B-roll at the start, Eber! Keep up the great work :D
You should try the Devialet Phantom as an alternative :)

Devialet Phantom Wireless Speaker www.whathifi.com/devialet/silver-phantom/review
The Phantom Gold’s are over £4000 if you buy the pair plus the dialogue unit to play them.

Please check the new B&W Zeppelin and the Devialet Phantoms

Can you review the Sennheiser hd 598 cs
It looks like a silver 470.
Not high dynamic range at all.
its almost 2017 and pc guys see whats the reason why people buy high end audio stuff :D
Welcome to the Audio world ! btw. you can be sure that Mu-So is only the first and cheap step :)
P.S. You should try Devialet Phantom.
Would love you guys to review the Sony SRS-ZR5, ZR7 or JBL Playlist 150 (Once it's released) or the Harman Kardon OMNI+ line with build-in Chromecast Audio!
being able to tell the difference between a 200$ speaker set and a 1500$ speaker must be a curse
GaudyMarko It's nothing a few whiskeys wouldn't fix. :P
Shit looks like a reference 480
whats it like using it as a soundbar for a tv
