    lovely yarn collection! i wonder if, for the cashmere that needs steaming, you could knit one swatch from an unsteamed hank and one swatch from a steamed hank. then steam the swatch from the unsteamed hanked and see if it actually makes a difference. steaming just one hank is probably a lot faster than steaming a whole sweater quantity, so it might save you some time without risking a whole sweater not coming out as nice as it could have. im sure whatever route you take and whatever garment you make will be amazing, though :)

    I love watching podcasters share their stash, here in Argentina it's almost impossible to buy any of the popular brands.... also, your life palette is very beige/neutral lol, mine is definitely pastel 😄

    From one Adhs brain to another - redo the I-cord! Because if your brain works like mine, soon after you will be forgetting that you had to rip it back😉

    Just stumbled across your channel a few weeks back. Catching up on all episodes of your podcast and I love it. I have already cast on your step by step sweater and cannot wait for the cardigan version. We will be returning to office at some point and i'd love a neutral cardi to wear when the office AC is blasting.. I'm in the Northeast US, by the way.

    Hi Florence! I have a question, however it might be difficult one. What yarn would you consider quintessentially British? Like if someone would want one yarn that is made in UK, what would you recommend?

    @Maria.H26 11 месяцев назад

    I bought a skein of the cashmere yarn from Skall studio on sale and will be making a Scarf no. 1 🥰 I can’t find any more on their website, so they might have stopped selling yarn

    You should steam before knitting as it will affect your gauge. Love your videos.

      I was thinking also steam my swatch to check gauge first!

    Great video (as always) and lovely yarn stash 💙🩵💙🩶🤍
    I have a slightly cheeky question - after listening to you wax lyrical about KfO Soft Silk Mohair and how much you love the colour Fennel Seed, I purchased what I thought would be a sufficient quantity to knit a Cardigan No. 2 by My Favourite Things Knitwear. However, I need another 2 balls to complete it. I had the last ball from the Oxford Yarn Store a few weeks ago and now it’s out of stock everywhere, including from Knitting For Olive in Denmark 😕 Is there any chance you have a couple of spare balls you would be willing to sell? 😬

      I’m really sorry - I used pretty much every last bit to finish my cardigan!

    Maybe mixing the blue Noro with some beige/moonstone mohair would mute it down to your usual palette? :)

    Question: have you ever tried Woolyknit British wool or Woolyknit Merino wool? If so, what are your thoughts?

    I’ve been knitting for a while but only recently started harder projects and I’m looking for recommendations for interchangeable knitting needles. Or I’m wondering if they are even worth it. I’ve knitted a sweater and a beanie so far but I’m excited to knit a lot more but I don’t know if it’s worth investing in an interchangeable needle set. Love your videos by the way! Thanks:)

    • @handmadebyflorence
      @handmadebyflorence  11 месяцев назад

      I’d recommend getting one, I am very happy with mine, but I’ve been using the same set for years so don’t have a great idea of which are worth recommending!

      I felt the same as you last summer! I bought the drops classics set, and I really like them!. There are absolutely nicer options out there but for the price point they are great. I think the cables also work with knitpros needles (and other brands) if you want to buy wood/plastic needles later on!

    • @Gina-u6r
      @Gina-u6r 10 месяцев назад

      I found the interchangeable needles worth the buy; some are cubed rather than round which I prefer. It feels like there is less weight on needles when project has heavier weight wool and many stitches as it knits up. Also found they are easier to carry around when on the move. Available sized separately or in sets so you can try one size before buying whole set. I learnt comparisons from You Tube posts show and the local knitting shop might order what you want if they do not have in stock. Hope this helps! Thanks Flo for the patterns across on Ravelry, wool info, and instructions - always very helpful.

    If you ever want to gift the blue Noro and KFO dusty dove blue, I volunteer to be a recipient. 😊 I know shipping from the UK to US is expensive, but I would pay it.
    You have a beautiful collection of yarn…fiber content and color palette.
