You just popped up in my feed today and this was really encouraging. You are absolutely right. Mental health and financial wellness go hand-in-hand. I remember when retail therapy was what I used to feel better. To get that euphoria feeling that last while you’re shopping were waiting for the item to come from Amazon, etc., just go get yourself a real therapist and that’s what I did. Now I’m debt free and I’m trying to be very mindful of how I spend. You’re doing great you paid off a lot in a few years. Just don’t add anything more to the debt and keep going.
Great thing you created a monthly budget tracking and expenses, I also found that to be incredibly helpful in my debt free journey! I have paid off 30K since last year and a half, and expecting to finish off my remaining credit card debt of 35k by next year as well. Then finally tackling my 20k student loan, similar to you! I personally found Dave Ramsey to be an incredible motivator to finally take getting rid of debt seriously! A good vacation also helps anyone to relax and take a break from the world's worries, although in your case, do make sure its really well planned out in terms of costs, so you don't go over it and get into debt again!
I currently have $20K debt of student loan now and haven’t worked full time since my one year old was 6 months and now I’m pregnant again so ahh this debt confession relates to me so well!
Hi! New subbie here. Great video! You made some phenomenal progress between 2020 and 2024! I have no doubt you'll do the same going forward. Keep up the good work!
@UneakTershai gotcha, but the answer is still no. The trip will likely be next year at some point but a common misconception about budgeting is that you have to be restrictive about things in your life. Being too restrictive leads to impulse buying and spending. All budgeters are not the same and definitely do things differently and this is one thing that I do differently.

Do you not feel guilty traveling internationally while in so much debt?
I traveled locally back home and to answer your question, no because it was planned for.
@@AJBudgeting oh okay. I was actually referring to the Bali trip you mentioned in the video.
