i really like your videos, bro. They you explain things... it's awesome. BTW, what happened to the audio of this video? It seems to be a little weird. Keep up the good work!
Great video tutorial! Note: this technique can be done in most video programs using an "alpha gradient" effect. It is best done with a clip where the horizon stays at the same height. 1) Put 2 copies of the clip on the timeline, one on top of the other. 2) Edit color and brightness of the top clip for the sky, edit the bottom clip for the ground 3) Apply an "Alpha Gradient" effect to the top layer, making it fade to invisibility somewhere around the horizon line. This effect is called many different things, you may have to do some googling to find its name in your software. But it is a pretty common effect. Thanks to Jeven Dovey for posting this video!
Sweet. ... Sure wish I had gone with Apple and Final Cut Pro several years ago instead of Sony Vega Pro. But ... alas ... too late (too much $$$ invested in Vegas now)... .
I'm almost certain you can do this in Vegas Pro too, the effect will just have different names. It may be called an alpha or transparency mask, or be associated with a crop tool.
Hello Jeven, this was really helpful, thanks a lot for this tutorial. Great job done! I suppose it will work the same in Premiere Pro. You can duplicate the clip, mask them both, as you did (mask lower part in the first one, and upper in second one) and then color it :) Thanks. I am waiting for my mavic to arrive. I will definitely use your advice. Have you been using any ND filters with mavic mini?
Cinema Grade is available for Premiere and Davinci Resolve, however, it only supports MAC. No windows compatibility, and I don't think that will ever happen.
I have just stumbled across your channel and love it! Thanks for the tips. Long time photographer, first time drone flyer - about to head to the Scottish highlands for a driving tour with my family and can hopefully get some greater footage! Do you have any advice on which app might provide the same level of functionality on an iPad. I am struggling to find one that lets me combine two videos into one timeline and let me apply a filter gradient....I can just into final cut when i get home, but o would love to do some edits on the fly...
Can we get a really basic color grading tutorial for beginner pilots? I have a Mavic Pro 2, but I have no experience in color grading or advanced video editing.
I have to say that from my own personal view, I find the original footage better and far more lifelike than most of the edited stuff. Whilst it is amazing what can be done in editing, I find it all too artificial. I guess its very subjective stuff, but I feel it's too easy to fall in love with the technical editing side and miss out on the actual subject being filmed.
Yeah I pushed it to show a look you can create but you can also use this to make small changes. Sometimes I’ll just add a little more contrast into the sky to make it pop.
This is probably the most professional channel on drone cinematography. But for grading I prefer davinci resolve. But that's probably because I am a TV vet and have used davinci ever since is was $400K hardware. Now it's software and free or less the $300 for the pro version.
thank you Jeven for posting such informative videos about drones in general! I bought myself a Spark for our travel videos 2 weeks ago. And I cannot stop watching these videos, then putting them into action! Best channel for cinematic drone flying!!
I followed your channel since a long time. By this channel help I have learnt a lot and tried to implement those ideas on my Travel Vlog. Thanks a lot. Keep us Updating. Regards
For me 2.7k is enough for what I want, 249gr is great, more than 25 minutes of flight time and the price is in place of what I want to spend on a tangle drone
Looking all over the place I was unable to locate a filter like this for Premier Pro, or any videos that show how to do this same thing. All I can locate is a way to do a 4 color mask which is totally not the same thing. Other than that, great video.
I wish I knew this right before my video I just made. Did some masking thing i dont think worked the best. This is solid thank you. Time to shoot another one 😅
Getting the mini Mavic 2 because I have never flown a drone and the footage is gonna be used as part of my photography unit these videos are gonna help alot cheers
Thank you so much for making this video... I'm trying to figure out if DJI mini2 is good enough... or get Air 2 S. I live in Canada and like that Mini 2 is under 250g.. I will be checking out all your videos to educate and inform myself. 👍
Just bought a mini 2 and looking forward to flying, and now the editing. Thanks for your videos. Subscribed and will be working through all your other videos.
Hi Jeven, the new studio looks great! Question on the video editing, I use PowerDirector 18, have never really played around with color grading, are you familiar with PD? Would I be able to use or get these filters to work? Thanks....
Absolutely love how you edit your videos with putting all the before and after clips in etc, do you have a tutorial showing how you put a video together as would be really interested on any tips?
Do you like the new intro? How about my new office space? Been working on changing things up and exploring new places to shoot.
I'm not seeing the geodesic dome that you showed in your last post. Like the intro. Thumbs up... .
@@MagicBiscuitShow The GeoDome is in my studio. Still working on getting that setup so I had to shoot in my editing office now.

A tip: watch movies on flixzone. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies recently.
Amazing scene, shot at many different beautiful angles, good

is it possible to do this in premiere pro
thanks *very usefull*
@@DanialADHOfficial Hi. Did you discover if it's possible to do in Premiere Pro? Would want to know. Thanks :)

Must. Not. Buy. Drone. Yet.... 😂😂
Great tutorial as always my friend.
Am here before everybody
software capable of doing this other than Final Cut?

nah.. i rather wait 2 years for AI to do this job for me lol

How do you do this on iMovie?
Thanks heaps for this vid! We are trying to get the absolute best out our Mini footage and this is extremely helpful!
Excellent tip. Well presented. Avoids using Singh Ray filters we use with DSLR.
Does Adobe Premiere have the same plugin (Cinema Grade and Gradient Filter)?
yeah i have the same question
I clicked the link and when I scrolled down Cinema Grade offer versions for other editing software.
Cinema Grade is available for Premiere and Davinci Resolve, however, it only supports MAC. No windows compatibility, and I don't think that will ever happen.
Premiere has built in Lumetri Color and for the gradient you can easily use a rectangular mask with a feathered edge.
More final cut tutorials!
I feel like there an eco in your voice , u should check that out it gets annoying thought the video
Thanks for the inspiration... I did something similar already in Da Vinci Resolve, but your approach is really straightforward.
Awesome, thank you!
What app is this one in the main video?
Just subbed your channel, so many good tips thanks!

Do you use an ND filter if you know you will be color grading later?
Yes ND is only for changing the brightness of an image so you can adjust your other settings. Watch this ruclips.net/video/kgjQPFCfUPo/видео.html
Great application of a photographers technique. Love it! I’m going to re-grade some footage right now using this tip!

Hi i want learn with you make all video bro which apps better for video edit
I don't see anything special about using masks to color grade.
Cool! But I'm still far from that level. Still learning other basic stuffs.
What are you working on right now? What do you need help with? Would love to make a color grading tutorial that will help you get the basics down.
Perhaps MAC ONLY should have been put in title.
Great information and i will tray for make better video,,,

How do you do the before and after effect (the hard cut bar type thing)?
I already have Cinema Grad its amazing, where can I get the Gradient Mask Plugin there that you use?
Its just native in final cut
What would be a good editing software that will have the ability to do this that is free.
Great video! thanks for sharing the knowledge.
HI SIR, WHAT APPS DO YOU USE?? CAN I GET THE LINKS TO FIND IT IN PLAY STORE?
Thanks for the tutorial.
Although, I guess I am in the minority, as I prefered the Original Clean look.
So same procedure like in Adobbe Lightroom just these is for VIDEO
THNX
Yeah
Hey Jeven, that animation for subscribing, did you make that?
Its from MotionVFX
Simply love these tutorials. Hands down my favorite and always ridiculously cool!! I look forward to all the notifications
Can you please do the same without using plugins?
Very Nice. Even 2 years ago your videos were great.
So do you always have to touch up the videos? Isn't it possible for such a high quality Drone, without having to retouch the shots? Thank you.
You don't have to but no camera is perfect. I prefer to edit my shots so that I can create more dynamic looking footage
Your video is so great helped for my filming...THANKS..!!!!
why is the sound terrible on this video ?
Intéressant
What software program are you using?
Thank You so much for sharing. Have a great weekend 👍
where I can get the program for editing ? and what does it cost
Amaizing effect but not real 😀
Very good vid. Useful content, well explained.....
Which software do you use?
I really want to try this, but I am on a Windows PC. Is there any software comparable to Cinema Grade for Windows? Perhaps a PhotoShop plug-in?
Thanks for sharing. Why don’t you use the Vector tool in Cinema Grade to color the sky? This is reached via the top bar in CG but guess you know this.
Jeven the only thing I can find on this in Premiere is a 4 color gradient. I can’t find a way to make 2 separate grades for one clip.
Look for a gradient mask. I don't use premiere so not sure how to do it in that software
soo i can't use these filters if i film on my phone?
Wow really great video. I left you a subscription and a like for your video. Greetings Sascha
sir what is the name of effect in premier pro ??
like in final cut its graduated mask.
Dunno I don’t use premiere 🤷🏻♂️
Just bought a mini 2 and looking forward to flying, and now the editing. Thanks for your videos. Subscribed and will be working through all your other videos.
Can you use cinema grade as a separate application rather than as a plug-in with your video editing software?
What gears do u suggest for a quality vlog for beginners???
Filtering out the background noise is more distracting. 😉
Kudos mate! Thanks for sharing. Very generous and thoughtful. Best for your endeavours.
can this be done with filmora 9?
