Trying a New Flooded Spillway! Should be some Monsters in Here

I've been wanting to try this place for a while. I wasn't expecting a flooded mess in July though. Normally you can stand under this wall and fish down there but not today. I first went here in March 2024 to see how it looked. It only had a few perch at that time but looked good. I walked here again about 2 weeks ago just to take a look and caught a crappie almost instantly before having to leave because of a storm. This time I went to fish it right. I took a walk in the heat and humidity carrying all my stuff to fish a new flooded spillway. Was it any good? If I'm being honest, no. I didn't catch much other than a bowfin because I almost always catch one of those and 1 decent bass. I was expecting some crappie but not a single one was caught this day. Fish or not it was still a good time and better than staying inside.

Yeah I was using it to catch bait so I didn't have to tie a tiny hook on a bigger rod. I didn't plan on having to cast it there.
