Just discovered your classes ...very useful .. Sometimes we don't have time for an hour long class , so the way you break them into segments is good for busy people 👍🤔🎨✏️🖍
Pleased you've been finding them helpful Heather
Will you work is amazing!!!👏🏽👏🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Hi! I've just discovered your channel and basically started a marathon where I'm watching all you acrylics tutorials. Thank you so much already for the help and inspiration.
One question though on this one: regarding the ground color you're applying at the very beginning, could you have chosen 2 different colors, one for the sky and the other for the trees part? I'm surprised you use this light green for the sky as well instead of dividing the painting into 2 different parts.
Thank you in advance for your help. Keep posting :)
Love your videos. This is a great series.
Cheers Ryan.

So lovely! thank you!
Very good tutorial for the greens Will. It would be great to have your tutorial for the painting behind you with the orange colors which I believe is a difficult color too at least for me. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge
Great colors I have never even seen before! Pros vs amateurs..
Pleased you enjoyed it.
Will
ill laint it tomorrow! today i'm sketching. Thank you for the video
Thanks a lot for sharing your know-how!
Intuitively, I would have chosen the shadow color as my colored ground. Must try it with more of a mid tone!
Pleased you enjoyed it.
Cheers,
Will
so nice to see you..
Keep up the good job.
Thanks Roland.

Thank you :)
Hei :) That brush looks lovley, is it intelocked hog bristle ? Thank you for nice teaching :)
Great video. Thanks.
Thank you so much for the new video! I'm still working on entire series (watching first) to learn. I have a question....everyone uses ultramarine blue for the sky. On video it looks blue but in real life it looks purple. What does one do? Thanks.
Hi Wingslk, if you have a watch through the whole lesson you'll see how I add a different blue alongside the ultramarine blue to change the vibrancy and mix a more green-blue.
Cheers,
Will
Using water to thin the paint, do you ever get any underbinding? Do you ever opt for using mediums? As always, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and expertise. :DD
Hi WahtNow858, as I'm working onto an absorbent surface of the canvas the paint will adhere well.
Here are some details regarding acrylic to water ratio from Golden
paints technical director:
"The cautions against thinning acrylics beyond 30% (or some similar
figure) is common to run across and is something we often find ourselves
having to correct, at least in regards to our own paints.
We cannot, of course, comment about other manufacturers’ products, where
performance can differ. So the following is really only about our brand
and is not a blanket statement.
The first thing to note is that our Fluids and Heavy Body acrylics can
easily be thinned up to one part paint to one part water, or a 1:1
ratio, and maintain excellent adhesion onto absorbent surfaces. In fact,
even when testing this on a non-absorbent material like Plexiglas, the
paints still formed good films with no adhesion failures after being
allowed to fully cure.
To add even a little more comfort beyond that, we can share that the
adhesion onto Plexiglas remained solid even when thinning with one part
paint to two parts water, or a 1:2 ratio. Which would feel like a fairly
fluid wash for most people.
As you can see, the concerns around thinning with water can often be
over stated, especially if using our Heavy Body or Fluid Acrylics and
keeping the ratio to 1:1 or less. And even then, one can usually get
away with going even further."

Hope this helps,
Will
I really need to know that.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌹🌹🌹🌹
Will, would you please address what kind of canvas you use. I have some middle level canvases....are they ok for this? Or will I notice a big difference if I buy better canvases? I’ve noticed a big change from medium range acrylic paper to canvas. This is becoming a very expensive hobby!
Thanks,
Loreen from Canada

I love your videos! I learn a lot from them!! Thank you so much!!
I've also been meaning to ask you, what is the piano music you play throughout the video? I'd like to buy the track! It's so beautiful!
Thanks Ricardo, if you click the show more like there is a link to the music.

Thank you so much!! Keep up making great material! i owe a lot of my knowledge, motivation and inspiration to paint to you!
Can I use this technique on watercolor paper using acrylic?
If you have a heavy weight watercolour paper you could give it a go, you'd find the paint behaving slightly differently and need to use more water in your mixes as the paper will absorb the paint and water much more quickly than the canvas I demonstrate on.

Will
+willkempartschool Thanks so much :) I'll give it a go
