I was in an age gap relationship nobody will ever convince me that 15+ age gap is acceptable. It is definitely a sign of mommy/daddy issues. I learned my lesson and I pray people become free from this.
I love Mindy and she is the kindest person. She is young, capable, and is a great mom. Larry is a nice man as well and is great father. He is very with it and healthy for his age. He’s a retired police officer, and was one of the good ones. They both can financially care for the child, and provide a great life. Mindy is young and deserves to be a mom, and she has a wonderful family for the baby to love on. It’s not selfish or disturbing. I just think Allie is putting herself way up there these day. I unfollowed her on IG and didn’t realize I still subscribed to her channel on RUclips. Please remember folks, Allie doesn’t get the final say on what is right or wrong. The Bible had men having babies at a much older age than this man. Both of them are law abiding citizens who can physically, emotionally, and financially care for their children. Trust me, Mindy won’t be taking her kids to drag queen story hour or letting them choose their gender as minors. It’s videos like this that make Christian’s look so cringe.

Thats great that they can and will care for children and have good moral standing in society. but the Christian values we have will say no to what God does not agree on and IVF stuff and more are falling in that category. And ivf sounds compassionate until you do enough research and you realize it's eugenics. I have to disagree on the age being an issue and here’s why. My husband is 19 years older than me (I’m 31 he’s 50). He is the most loving father I’ve ever seen. We have 2 young children and they adore him and he is very active with them. They are blessed to have him as their father. Another point…we aren’t guaranteed to live till we are old. My mom died of cancer when I was 26. She was only 63. My father who was older than my mom is still alive. You just never know.

I actually watch some of their content, they are actually lovely people and they are able to create very few embryos and are not going to destroy them. They share all the details and they talk a lot about their age gap. Sometimes our opinions are better kept to ourselves. Remember people, be kind especially when you know little about them.
Did they say it's because he's too old? Or because she can't conceive? IVF is wrong, but not necessarily because of an age gap. These are two separate issues.
They used donor sperm for the first baby because he had a vasectomy that couldn't be reverses because it was done too long ago. Not sure if she has issues too

And then decided to try and take his sperm from him because apparently there's still some left some how, and then they used that to make embros. So she had to take the shots and everything.

I also know couples who conceived that way and their children are precious, so I am conflicted in my feelings about it.

Abraham's life gave him heartache. Abraham's wife Sarah gave him her servant Hagar to conceive his first child and Sarah got jealous afterwards. Abraham then had to send Ishmael and Hagar away which must have been painful. Abraham was blessed with his second child by Sarah. My take is that Abraham would have been better off not taking Hagar. Sarah would've been better off not giving him her servant. The Bible doesn't mention that Sarah consulted of the Lord for her decision so we can assume it was done for desires of the flesh. Moral of the story they should've just waited for the Lord's timing and the brokenness of that family could've been avoided.

The age gap is fine. This used to happen all the time in the past. Women would marry older men so they wouldn't become old maids or because they were rich. Sometimes it would take men a long time to establish themselves in society to become eligible for a good marriage. Women still do this if it's a wealthy guy.

He had a vasectomy over 25 yrs ago so he had surgery to extract sperm from him and freeze the sperm for use in IVF they also used iUI first but it didn’t work so they went for IVF
Month old, but showing up now. I’m a 36yr old wife and mother to six (although I only physically gave birth to 3). My husband and I are done having children and had our youngest October of 2023. My husband was 41 and we thought THAT was almost too old for children!! I agree with Allie here. My mother’s biological father was 62 when she was born. She had a really messed up family to say it lightly but her father was previously married and had my moms older two half brothers and half sister who were all 23+ years older than her as well. Her bio parents also had a son 18 months younger than my mom. When my mom was 2yrs old, her father died from a sudden stroke. This was the late 1950s- early 1960s when there really wasn’t much help for single or widowed mothers so she remarried an abusive POS (and I’m trying to be “nice” here) who abused her in every single way imaginable. Then this “stepfather” murdered her mom when she was only 11. So orphaned by 11yrs old!! My mom only knew the POS murdered her mom because she was healthy in her 30s, appeared fine, then the POS forced my mom and younger brother say goodbye because “it was the last time they’d see her” and she’ll never forget the terror her mom had but tried hide on her face. A neighbor (who was still 5mi away as they lived in very rural Montana) suspected abuse and had my mom write a letter to a family member. So she wrote her older half brother despite hardly knowing him. This mom’s older half brother and his new wife showed up from Minnesota to “take the kids on vacation” and never brought them back, never looked back so they basically kidnapped them. If it weren’t for them, my mom would not have been the strong, beautiful, amazing, resilient mom I was blessed with and continue to be blessed with today. They are my Grandpa Walt and my Grandma Grace. My children are named after them. I’m going to go see my Grandpa Walt in a couple days (I live 8hrs away) and he’s now pushing 90 years old. My Grandma Grace sadly passed away from cancer in 2021. Anyway, it’s so not fair to children when you KNOW you won’t even be around to raise them to an adult. I know things happen of course and you or I could die tomorrow but it’s just selfish to me when you’re that old and you know for a fact you’ll miss out on a lot. You never know what kind of man will come along after you to fill that father role either… yes, there’s exceptions of course, but there’s also horrible people who abuse their stepchildren. Also- statistically speaking, fathers ARE one of the most important thing a child needs to set them up for success in life. My opinion though!!

Personally, I find this selfish. You know the father is likely to die relatively early into your child’s life. Also, as a woman I wouldn’t want to start a relationship/family who is going to die much sooner than me

As a young widow I so agree with you! My daughter only had her father for a short time and even after 5 years the constant aching for him and the longing to have a daddy here are heartbreaking to me. I absolutely can't understand why they do this knowing what trauma the children will face 😢
I also have to disagree with the age issue. My father was 68 when I was born. My brother and I were his first and only children, and I am very glad my parents chose to have us. He was not too old to sire children, and he loved us and raised us well and provided for us fully. I was 25 and my brother was 30 when he died, and though I wish he was still here, I am glad he and my mother chose to start a family despite the obvious challenges. My brother and I were blessed to have him for the time we did. Like another commenter said, we are not promised long life, and I believe that families and children at any age are a blessing from God.

Idk wasn't there a huge age gaps in the Bible with the majority of marriages. It's modern society that has set these standards of closer ages to start families. I'm glad that are standards now. But I mean, you can't argue with the bible

Ill keep my personal opinions about this relationship to myself, but I've watched Mindy and Larry for years, there is a whole lot to unpack in that age gap relationship. However, IVF is being used because Larry had a vasectomy that was irreversible. So he had a sperm retrieval so any children they have by this method will be biologically his and hers.

Normally I agree with Allie Beth but here are some things to think about here. 1) the couple never stated the reason why they’re using IVF, it could be because of her. Theoretically men can produce sperm until they die they’ll just have slower sperm and probably a lower sperm count as they age. 2) As long as she was a full grown adult when these two got together then technically there’s no harm here. 3) No one knows how long they’ll live (that’s up to God) so that’s not a good excuse not to have children. Edit to add: the biggest issue I have here is the use of IVF.
Nobidy has the right to decide who is too old or not...that is the job of God... You certainly have no right... To have a committed father for a short time is better than not having one at all...

Ironic you call out the story of Abraham while ignoring his wife first tried surrogacy and how that was disastrous and not approved by God. Abraham and his wife had a baby in old age, but that was by the Lord's blessing, and their child was naturally concieved and was all around a miracle that was prayed for. IVF, like surrogacy, goes outside of God's design. Yes, God did a miracle for Abraham and Sarah, but Abraham and Sarah waited in *God's timing and for God's help*, and when they tried things their way it didn't go well. And something we are discovering with IVF is that children concieved via IVF are having higher rates of childhood cancer. But it's not being talked about alot because the fertility industry makes lots of money.
The age gap is inappropriate on so many levels. For one thing, he will probably be dead before this child even gets out of grade school. He is at the age where he should see his granddaughter walking down the aisle. Not being married to someone young enough to be his granddaughter.
From what I understand this gentleman has had a vasectomy in his first marriage. Be that as it may, I have a question, at what stage is it considered too late to have children? I had my daughter 3 months before I turned 40, yet my mom had me a month before her 25th birthday. My mom passed away at the age of 43 when I was 18 and here I am 44 with a 4 year old... I think if we are going to make it an age thing we are going to lose the IVF battle. (Both my mom and I naturally conceived our babies)
My mother in-law had three kids after forty and has seen them all marry and have grandkids. I don't recommend waiting till forty if you can help it. Makes for higher risk births and rougher postpartum. but obviously it works out for some people. It's not too late in terms of watching them grow up. Especially if they took care of their health in their 20's and 30's.

None of us knows when God will call us home. My friend married someone 3 years older than herself and he had a heart attack and died at 38. You never know when your going to die.

I agree. I used to really enjoy her channel, but lately she has gone off the deep end. This video is downright mean. I was conceived with reproductive technology, as are the children of countless Christian couples today (and yes, most of them implant all their embryos!). My father was 57 when I was born. He lived until I was 25 years old. Only God knows how long someone will live. I am so thankful for the many wonderful years I had with him; I loved him so dearly, and my eldest son looks just like him. God gave Abraham and Sarah a child, for goodness sakes!

If they are married, the gap shouldn’t really matter. I would caveat against such a gap, especially if the man is older because he will likely be more irritated with her and treat her like a child, further into life together, and she is more likely to find a younger, more handsome man, when he begins to weaken. I have seen gaps of 10 years, with an older man, work okay. Older women seems to work well twenty years older than the man, if he doesn’t like or want children and she keeps fit. Over all, though, if you want children and a good marriage, keep the gap smaller.
The primary problem is obviously using ivf, but that aside age 'gaps' are less of a problem to me than age ratios. I would find it less weird if a 60-year-old man married a 35-year-old woman than if a 40-year-old man married a 19-year-old woman. The gap is bigger in the first relationship but the ratio of their ages is smaller.

I actually watch some of their content, they are actually lovely people and they are able to create very few embryos and are not going to destroy them. They share all the details and they talk a lot about their age gap. Sometimes our opinions are better kept to ourselves. Remember people, be kind especially when you know little about them.

And then decided to try and take his sperm from him because apparently there's still some left some how, and then they used that to make embros. So she had to take the shots and everything.

He could be around for a while. My dad died at 23, my mom was almost 7 months pregnant with me. They’re adults and Abraham fathered Issac much older. I see both the benefits and drawbacks to IVF. I also know couples who conceived that way and their children are precious, so I am conflicted in my feelings about it.

The age gap is weird, but I don’t think it’s wrong (except the IVF part). My parents had a significant age gap. My mom was younger. She passed away first. You never know.

Yeah but in the Bible in genesis people lived for a few hundred years, most people nowadays don't make it to 100. The problem is that these children will have to attend their father's funeral at a very young age and be practically fatherless for most of their life.

Yes, one aspect of older fathers is that they will not live as long as younger fathers, but no one’s tomorrows are guaranteed. I am a child of a father who was 68 when I was born, and I am glad my parents did not hold your same belief or I would not be here. When we put our own understandings onto life in that way it can limit God and we can miss out on the blessings of God and seeing Him glorified. I don’t agree with Allie on her statement of age; I feel it can be very limiting of God, as it is only looking at one aspect of parenthood-longevity-which is extremely important, but it is not the only factor in deciding to have a family, plus it is not promised even if you start a family when you are young. God is sovereign and His ways are perfect.

Abraham didn't need a surrogate or ivf.. no science involved.
Abraham's life gave him heartache. Abraham's wife Sarah gave him her servant Hagar to conceive his first child and Sarah got jealous afterwards. Abraham then had to send Ishmael and Hagar away which must have been painful. Abraham was blessed with his second child by Sarah. My take is that Abraham would have been better off not taking Hagar. Sarah would've been better off not giving him her servant. The Bible doesn't mention that Sarah consulted of the Lord for her decision so we can assume it was done for desires of the flesh. Moral of the story they should've just waited for the Lord's timing and the brokenness of that family could've been avoided.

People trying to playing God is not right and is only ending in harm for most children going through the process (meaning the many many embryos, human lives, that are thrown in the trash for not being "fit" to live). I agree with Allie here. My mother’s biological father was 62 when she was born. She had a really messed up family to say it lightly but her father was previously married and had my moms older two half brothers and half sister who were all 23+ years older than her as well. Her bio parents also had a son 18 months younger than my mom.
When my mom was 2yrs old, her father died from a sudden stroke. This was the late 1950s- early 1960s when there really wasn’t much help for single or widowed mothers so she remarried an abusive POS (and I’m trying to be “nice” here) who abused her in every single way imaginable. Then this “stepfather” murdered her mom when she was only 11. So orphaned by 11yrs old!!
My mom only knew the POS murdered her mom because she was healthy in her 30s, appeared fine, then the POS forced my mom and younger brother say goodbye because “it was the last time they’d see her” and she’ll never forget the terror her mom had but tried hide on her face. A neighbor (who was still 5mi away as they lived in very rural Montana) suspected abuse and had my mom write a letter to a family member. So she wrote her older half brother despite hardly knowing him.
This mom’s older half brother and his new wife showed up from Minnesota to “take the kids on vacation” and never brought them back, never looked back so they basically kidnapped them. If it weren’t for them, my mom would not have been the strong, beautiful, amazing, resilient mom I was blessed with and continue to be blessed with today.
They are my Grandpa Walt and my Grandma Grace. My children are named after them. I’m going to go see my Grandpa Walt in a couple days (I live 8hrs away) and he’s now pushing 90 years old. My Grandma Grace sadly passed away from cancer in 2021.
Anyway, it’s so not fair to children when you KNOW you won’t even be around to raise them to an adult. I know things happen of course and you or I could die tomorrow but it’s just selfish to me when you’re that old and you know for a fact you’ll miss out on a lot. You never know what kind of man will come along after you to fill that father role either… yes, there’s exceptions of course, but there’s also horrible people who abuse their stepchildren. Also- statistically speaking, fathers ARE one of the most important thing a child needs to set them up for success in life. My opinion though!!

As a young widow I so agree with you! My daughter only had her father for a short time and even after 5 years the constant aching for him and the longing to have a daddy here are heartbreaking to me. I absolutely can't understand why they do this knowing what trauma the children will face 😢
I also have to disagree with the age issue. My father was 68 when I was born. My brother and I were his first and only children, and I am very glad my parents chose to have us. He was not too old to sire children, and he loved us and raised us well and provided for us fully. I was 25 and my brother was 30 when he died, and though I wish he was still here, I am glad he and my mother chose to start a family despite the obvious challenges. My brother and I were blessed to have him for the time we did. Like another commenter said, we are not promised long life, and I believe that families and children at any age are a blessing from God.

Ill keep my personal opinions about this relationship to myself, but I've watched Mindy and Larry for years, there is a whole lot to unpack in that age gap relationship. However, IVF is being used because Larry had a vasectomy that was irreversible. So he had a sperm retrieval so any children they have by this method will be biologically his and hers.

Normally I agree with Allie Beth but here are some things to think about here. 1) the couple never stated the reason why they’re using IVF, it could be because of her. Theoretically men can produce sperm until they die they’ll just have slower sperm and probably a lower sperm count as they age. 2) As long as she was a full grown adult when these two got together then technically there’s no harm here. 3) No one knows how long they’ll live (that’s up to God) so that’s not a good excuse not to have children.

Ironic you call out the story of Abraham while ignoring his wife first tried surrogacy and how that was disastrous and not approved by God.
Abraham and his wife had a baby in old age, but that was by the Lord's blessing, and their child was naturally concieved and was all around a miracle that was prayed for.
IVF, like surrogacy, goes outside of God's design.
Yes, God did a miracle for Abraham and Sarah, but Abraham and Sarah waited in *God's timing and for God's help*, and when they tried things their way it didn't go well.
And something we are discovering with IVF is that children concieved via IVF are having higher rates of childhood cancer. But it's not being talked about alot because the fertility industry makes lots of money.

From what I understand this gentleman has had a vasectomy in his first marriage. Be that as it may, I have a question, at what stage is it considered too late to have children? I had my daughter 3 months before I turned 40, yet my mom had me a month before her 25th birthday. My mom passed away at the age of 43 when I was 18 and here I am 44 with a 4 year old... I think if we are going to make it an age thing we are going to lose the IVF battle. (Both my mom and I naturally conceived our babies)
My mother in-law had three kids after forty and has seen them all marry and have grandkids. I don't recommend waiting till forty if you can help it. Makes for higher risk births and rougher postpartum. but obviously it works out for some people. It's not too late in terms of watching them grow up. Especially if they took care of their health in their 20's and 30's.

Ivf/etc related stuff im not familiar with but im against too much major medical intervention, trust God with our life.
My husband is 18 years older than me. We had to have help getting pregnant. Not because of his issues but mine. I had issues staying pregnant. Why is that wrong to do? None of us knows when God will call us home. My friend married someone 3 years older than herself and he had a heart attack and died at 38. You never know when your going to die.

I agree. I used to really enjoy her channel, but lately she has gone off the deep end. This video is downright mean. I was conceived with reproductive technology, as are the children of countless Christian couples today (and yes, most of them implant all their embryos!). My father was 57 when I was born. He lived until I was 25 years old. Only God knows how long someone will live. I am so thankful for the many wonderful years I had with him; I loved him so dearly, and my eldest son looks just like him. God gave Abraham and Sarah a child, for goodness sakes!

He also had a vasectomy when he was younger(after having his own children before this) so they had to have a procedure done to retrieve any viable sperm left in his body, to even be able to do ivf.
If they are married, the gap shouldn’t really matter. I would caveat against such a gap, especially if the man is older because he will likely be more irritated with her and treat her like a child, further into life together, and she is more likely to find a younger, more handsome man, when he begins to weaken.
I have seen gaps of 10 years, with an older man, work okay. Older women seems to work well twenty years older than the man, if he doesn’t like or want children and she keeps fit. Over all, though, if you want children and a good marriage, keep the gap smaller.

The primary problem is obviously using ivf, but that aside age 'gaps' are less of a problem to me than age ratios. I would find it less weird if a 60-year-old man married a 35-year-old woman than if a 40-year-old man married a 19-year-old woman. The gap is bigger in the first relationship but the ratio of their ages is smaller.
I think as long as your at least 18 to marry then age gap doesn’t really matter! My mom met my dad at 28 while my dad was 21
