I saw your video when I turned 26 few months ago learned self taught full stack. And 4 months later I’m in a bootcamp. Thank you so much you kinda changed my life. I was so depress the earlier of year …. Now I sleep 5 hours a day learning every day and this is probably the best time of my life. I was depressed for more than 4 years. Never thought this would happen. I started 100day coding challenge after seeing your video. Never thought I would get this far. This might be the best thing I ever did in my life
lol! got a business degree from a university. for next 5 years had to struggle to get a entry level office job. wasted alot of money and time. Skip any business, physcology or art degrees if you can.
I’m literally going through this right now. I ran out of money and am back at some fast food restaurant making half what I used to make. But I guess it’s better than 0. But it’s still Uber stressful.
I saw the video title and immediately clicked thinking that you quit your developer job! I panicked for you, thinking "oh no Michael, what are you doing bro..." lol. Very happy to hear things are going much better for you now. We're all going to make it! 👊
Really good video! Sounds similar but not the same. Couple of months back. I was working for an employer who hired me for 40hrs a week for cheap pay. 2 months in the same day I was asked by my employer to work a half a day and told the schedule was changes. I went from working 5 days a week too 2 or 1 day a week and some weeks I didn't work at all! After 2 months of dealing with that bullshit, found another job and never resigned, never called them. I just started working for the other company. After 2 weeks of working for the new company my old boss was calling me everyday offering me 4 days out of the week to come back and work for him. I blocked his number and moved on.
Bro is laughing at his own past. like i do anyways lol. good to have you back man, also good that your life got back on track too. thanks to coding. I'm 25 now and kinda in a similair situation, quit my graphic design job for the same reasons as you had. but thank god, I'm still living with my parents god bless them, still in a fuked up financial situation tho but going with the flow and learning coding :)
Thanks for sharing man. This will help a lot of people out there. I myselves just quit a job last April. But as you said it, at least HAVE A PLAN ! Staying in a toxic job is no good but quitting without any plan, that's not good either. I've saved up money to survive at least around 8 months. So between the day I quit my job and up until now, I've been learning web development. And rn I am doing the odin projects - full stack javascript developers :D . Finally, I'll be starting my part-time position in the field the next 2 weeks. Getting my foot in the door ! Not a good pay, but that'll help me to survive while I continuously learn and finish the odin projects. But finally, there's light at the end of the tunnel and I am seeing it !! 😃😃
@@dreamerkjm8641 Thanks man. I've just finished the intermediate HTML and CSS btw. Still I would say it depends on the circumstances and luck plays a role in my context. I am just lucky to get a position in that company. Also the reason why I have the confidence to take the position is because previously I learned Java(core java and oop) for like 3 months and built like 4 projects while doing the course. So when I started learning js, literally I didn't start from scratch.
Fairly new subscriber your story and attitude resonates with me. As I'm contemplating a career change myself watching thru your videos has given me a lot to think and digest if i really want to do this successfully. Much appreciated 👍🏽
I went through something similar when my mother died. Ended up in the LVPD Police Academy for a little while, decided that line of work wasn't for me, then I just floated around until covid hit. Things would have been easier if I would have stayed in that job, but it provided me some good life experience leaving. I managed to find myself because it put me under a lot of pressure. Not advocating quitting without a plan, but sometimes you need pressure to make diamonds. Still grinding my code. Learning unit testing and going to get into TS soon. Been shooting out apps, hopefully I get something lol
@@Goldifysh I understand your point, but remember one thing... the way the world is set up now is either you be part of the government or be a slave for them. being a cop will give you a status in society and will also make sure you have a future. you can also be that and still work with PCs if that's what you want you. maybe just joining the cyber division. Damn you still watch anime lol?
Never too old for anime
I don't get the anime thing but you should do what makes you happy
Should read manga instead since it's the superior medium to anime
Love me some anime.
