Great review, but heres a thought for you. Harleys have so many options available its almost mind numbing to shop. On my Deluxe, I have a windshield, highway pegs, a backrest which takes all pressure off your arms and back. I have saddle bags and a full size detachable trunk along with a Kuryakyn travel bag for the queen seat. I can take everything I need to tour plus the kitchen sink. It took a bit to buy things one at a time, but once equipped this (for me) is the perfect bike. Its nimble enough to just cruise around the city and can be a touring bike. I can do some pretty long days on it, and the only complaint I would have is the heat on my inner thighs when caught in traffic.

mark dietz please look into your back rest to see if it would give way if your hit from behind. It could easily break your back if your hit from behind. My back was broken at a red light when I landed. :(

    Good honest review, thank you.
Those narrow tires make for nimble handling.
Add Trip Machine leather on grips, they eventually form to your grip.

I have a 2018, basically the same bike, and when I first got it, you did feel like you had to hang on when you got on the throttle, but, I added a rear seat pillion, and with time the rider's seat softens up, and now I don't feel that at all. The rear pillion gives the back of the front seat more support and seat foam breaks in over time. It's a fun bike to ride, very comfortable for cruising and has a boatload of torque which makes it fun to twist the throttle.

Dylan, great way to do a presentation on a motorcycle-when you're actually on it! Great concept! That model(Heritage Softail Deluxe) is one I'm considering for my first bike (I'm 57 now) at 5'9" tall 29" inseam isn't my predicament-I'm 315lbs, but built like a bulldog(tight packed). I think the Heritage Softail would be the right "first bike" for me. Thank-you for the extensive review on that bike. Doug🏍️👍⭐⭐⭐🤓🐻

Harley also encourages test rides at their dealers. You can test ride ANY of the bikes at a Harley dealer. The Japanese bike dealers WILL NOT let you take out any of their bikes for test ride. It's very rare if they do. If I am spending alot of money on a bike, i like to be able to test ride different models to figure out which bike I want to spend my hard earned money on.

Those Harley controls are my favorite to use. Not a fan of tech on motorcycles. This memorial weekend 2024 seen lots of distracted old riders on Harley's and trikes. And more accidents with new bikes and trikes and older riders. Which statistics are showing that too.

Dylan, the guy in front of you belongs at the end of the group. He keeps falling behind and drifting into your space. Good review.

Thanks good review. I never liked cruisers but those standard style bikes like that Kawasaki 900rs and Harley road glades are starting to tempt me. I’m more of a versys 650, ninja 400, or Bmw 1200 rt type of guy which I know is all over the place. So which model of harley do you think looks the best? I think this bike with a big windscreen and side bags looks sick

One of the reasons it handles so well is because the front and rear tires are the same size. Look at the new Fatboy. Harley went and ruined it by putting an oversized rear tire on it and it handles like crap. Also a windshield would help eliminate some stress on your hands.

So if you're not a fan, then why take this for a test run and not one of the other bikes that you are a fan of?

Any bike that doesn’t have bags or fairing wouldn’t be great at carrying anything duh.
Love the Deluxe. Wish I could ride once more.

Great looking bike except the turn signals. Retro bike with space cowboy turn signals. That's a miss.

Why are you riding an "Old School" Bike if you don't LIKE "Old School" bikes? Ain't mad.... just wondering.

The guy in front of you needs to be in last position. He's friggin annoying and dangerous to be behind. Man, I want this bike so bad.

Old school looks better. As a matter of fact most things old school are better just look at music and cars for example. Sorry some young people have no taste.

      @fargonianproductions2767 5 лет назад +3

Eric s not all young people don’t like old school things. In fact I love everything old school like lots of chrome, 60’s muscle cars, high cubic inch rated motors, etc and I’m only 13. I’m not trying to anger you but some young people are different than others.

Hi Hunter I know I have meet some younger people with great taste sorry to generalize. People like yourself give me hope for the future and I am glad you see the beauty in older things.@@fargonianproductions2767

Eric s it’s perfectly fine to generalize as most people are like that. In fact in September some small ways I am like my generation, but in many ways I am not. I love preserving old things like classic music from from the 30’s to the 90’s and so on. Anyway, I am happy that you know people that are like me. I also hope that what the future holds for us is a good future.
