Like a few mentioned, it's like taking a 57' Chevy and making it new today. Different bikes for different rides. Deluxe, go chrome or go home. Always liked this bike. This is the type of bike you dress up, cruise the streets to be seen. The black one has a nice setup and the exhaust sounded great.

Best time of day for a ride. Sunset and dusk are my favorite time because it's still warm but not burning from the Sun. Also, vehicles look better in that light for some reason. I enjoyed this ride along and can't wait to get my Deluxe !
It was Matt's 2017 vs. 2018 video that sold me on the new softail. I love my 2018 Electric Blue FLDE, even more so now with Zipper's 468 cam and a Bassani 2- 1. With the HD detachable bags + windshield, she's a sleeper + a keeper. I also installed the HD cruise control. Thanks Matt!
A big plus on this article is the way you include the front of the bike in the actual riding parts of the video. I also enjoyed the comparisons to other deluxe harleys.
Hardest part is paying for it. They cost a ridiculous price of 25 000€ where I live. That's like 9k extra for fucking politics in comparison with the US price
I thought I liked the old tank badge too. But the more and more I look at the new one, the more I like it. I think the simplicity and clean look of just the HD words fits it perfectly.
I've watched all of Matt's Softail reviews and now I'm ready to get back into the saddle after five years of two-wheeled celibacy. I sold my '08 Fatboy while living in San Bernardino. The Softail Deluxe always seemed to pull at my heart strings...such an incredibly beautiful bike. The featured Vivid Black model with ape hangers is frigging awesome! I could never picture my bike having ape hangers but as I watched it roll on I could feel my pulse rise and my chest cage expand. I think you helped me make my decision. Thank you!
The Deluxe is a bike Harley should bring back. I was disappointed that Harley discontinued the Road King Standard as well. I like the RK Special, but the Standard and the Deluxe have always been my favorites.
I’m on a 2021 RK (Crimson/White), so this bike REALLY speaks to me in terms of the killer “retro” look. Such a beautiful, clean bike- one of my favorites all time… still can’t believe they sunset it. Absolutely excellent review and great editing/compilation. Keep up the great work.

I agree. The bike is great, but those blinkers aren't. They look like they should be on that goofy futuristic Victory motorcycle from a few years back.
When I was in the market for a new HD a few years ago, it was the Softail Deluxe or the Street Bob... I eventually went Street Bob for the sportier aspect but I would not hesitate to grow my HD collection with an SD next time around. The styling and comfortability was all there for me!
Great video …. I considered the Deluxe BUT ended up buying a 2020 Fat Boy with apes. I have not taken possession yet, waiting on aftermarket pipes and tuner. This will be my first bike with apes so I particularly enjoy watching this video. The lane splitting you guys do cracks me up … not allowed in my state. And I do not think I would have the courage to do it if it was allowed. Too many aggressive distracted drivers in my state. THANKS for sharing your videos and personal insights !!
The ride in the night/ dusk really shows off the all LED triple headlights assembly (headlamp plus 2 passing lamps). That plus the classic looks of the Deluxe as well as the Heritage Classic has me thinking about getting one of those two in the near future. Great video as always Matt!👌

I own a 2017 model Deluxe. I think beside the chassis and engine changes, Harley Davidson changed Deluxe from a versatile bike into a street bike since 2018. But I really think those disappeared features are essential. Cruiser control, back seat and luggage rack allows me to do longer trip with great comfort. Personally, I prefer the old versatile Deluxe.
I love my 19 Deluxe, added a little chrome and Apes. I wish the Motor Company offered more chrome. At first I questioned the turn signals then I thought Art Deco, works for me.Would like to see 3 red tail light up grade and Old School headlight trim.

I still live the FLHRC . I had black radial spokes and rums with chrome spoke nuts and hubs. Smoked out lenses. Tuxedo'd out my bags,white grips. Decco style hardware. She was pimp. Still always wanted the ability to ride w/o the bags on.
Sooo I have been without a bike for the last three years, and this year I finally picked up a new bike. I wanted the slim or the heritage, I saw a deluxe on the showroom floor and it caught my eye. I added it to the bikes I test ride, why not? It couldn’t hurt. I knew I was going to get the slim or the heritage, but just to be sure. On the test rides The bikes I thought I wanted didn’t hold a candle to the smile the deluxe put on my face, and I rode that 2018 deluxe home that day. Phenomenal bike.

Get this MATT, even though I can’t ride a bike no more, due to a bike accident 39 years ago, I still went out and bought myself a 2018 Electric Blue Deluxe. No I’m not going to modify it, I’m just going to admire it, polish it, and be a proud Harley owner. For me the deluxe is the most complete of the new softail line. I’m not a chromed out guy, and don’t want tube tires, but this bike makes me look upon the shortcuts taken with some of the other softails with disdain.
I had a 2017 RGU and a 2004 CVO Deuce totaled in a accident where they were both in my toy hauler when we were wrecked by a drunk driver. Hit so hard broke both the frames, crazy I know. Man I loved that little yellow deuce too! But I just picked up a 14 cvo deluxe. She is the Cobalt blue, White pearl and gold leaf in the airflow paint set. This is one sweet ass bike man!
After looking at some recent bikes with the Lucky Dave high bars and handlebar fairing. @ 5'8 I'd favour mid peg extra ground clearance set-up. For a bike that doesn't date worthwhile saving up for a stage three kit. Tank badge off the red model please.

Living on Hawaii, the salt in the air loves chrome and steel. Using more composites and aluminum. I wish Harley would use more aluminum/composites which would improve weight. It would be nice to have a few more horsepower every year from the factory. Safety tech should be standard like competitors. Love all the led headlights. USA takes so long to adopt stuff that has been in Europe for years. Keep the videos coming.

I haven’t ridden a bike in over 30 years. I had a Honda Shadow 500cc way back in the 80’s for a couple years then sold it. Fast forward to today and I’ve got the itch to ride again. I’ve been looking at Harleys. I’m 60 now and I’m 6’3” and 225 pounds with bad knees so the small bikes are out. I need a bike with legroom. What do you recommend for someone like me who has been away from the game for so long? I’d appreciate some feedback. Thanks.
I just bought a deluxe 2014, I live in Pakistan so getting Harley parts here is really difficult. The previous owner replaced the stock pipes with python pipes, I really like the stock look. What is the part number of the stock exhausts, I might be able to get it imported.

The dulux is growing on me. needs a small rack behind the seat.. I found a tool bag on bars is just enough to push the windup.

I haven’t ridden a bike in over 30 years. I had a Honda Shadow 500cc way back in the 80’s for a couple years then sold it. Fast forward to today and I’ve got the itch to ride again. I’ve been looking at Harleys. I’m 60 now and I’m 6’3” and 225 pounds with bad knees so the small bikes are out. I need a bike with legroom. What do you recommend for someone like me who has been away from the game for so long? I’d appreciate some feedback. Thanks.
I just bought a deluxe 2014, I live in Pakistan so getting Harley parts here is really difficult. The previous owner replaced the stock pipes with python pipes, I really like the stock look. What is the part number of the stock exhausts, I might be able to get it imported.
