Haha, I was following this one on eBay, I'm sure it's this one. Even put in an early bid. But was too broke to bid a proper amount for it in the end... I would have outbid you if I could afford it. :) [EDIT] I mostly bid on it for the games - I have the Mega Duck Laptop, but only have one game, "Armour Force". If you want to sell your duplicate games let me know, I'd be interested!
annoyingly game gears have the same issue with the speaker being burnt into place, both nintendo and sega used to do with their home consoles for a few components as cost cutting measures, sega did it for their power on LED's and power switches which is a pain in the arse when they break.
On the dutch version of craigslist "marktplaats" there are quite a few mega ducks for sale and not that expensive either, I even saw some boxed games for sale
Calling it a gameboy clone is a little misleading. Calling it a clone implies that it plays gameboy games. You know like how a NES clone console plays NES games.
So you're one of the people who drive ebay prices up by bidding a high number days before the auction ends, then has to bid at the end anyway, whats the point?? best to have a reminder set and put your first bid in the last 10 seconds. Always enjoy your videos though
It's so much easier to just use the maximum bid funcion, because that literally is what you would've added in the last ten seconds anyway. So no matter what, the auction would've ended up at the same price
I understand you pain wig trying to find obscure rare tech that's not documented or cared about. I'm trying to collect every version of Apple earbuds. there are many types of Apple earbuds with little changes between each model.
I still own one, but unsure if it still works. At one time I got a universal charger which seems to have blasted most if not all games I own :-(. This was my first handheld because a GameBoy was too expensive :-). Had a lot of fun with it though.
The Retro Future back in the day I actually made a special case for the console and games, so I don't think it'll be too dirty, but after all these years who knows! Will be moving soon so if I'll get it through my hands I'll be sure to try it again.
See I feel stupid now, actually thought you were talking about a real duck. In my defence it was never released in Canada as far as I know. What's the other called a mega cougar? That sounds scary....
So cool! You're channel is great! I like your collection but i think it's weird that you are so obsessed with Mega ducks) Why do you like them so much?

Pro tip when buying in a auction, Bid on the last few minutes, people tend to inflate prices even days before the auction even come close to and end
Yeah, I should have done.
Glad the replacement switch worked out to repair your Nintendo Mega Cougar Duck Boy!
I would also consider polishing the screen to remove those scratches. A fine polish for cell phone displays works the best.

I had no idea!
It might depend on the batch. I've seen Game Gears with a small brown plastic bracket holding the speaker in. Only had two small phillips head screws.
Scioneer he said Sega did it for their LEDs and power switches
The Armor Force game artwork looks like Voltron!
True! It's a great game too!
what happened to the what i assume is a capacitor at 5:40 ? Looks like the outter layer is damaged like how would that even happen

I have that exact same switch tou used to test it. No idea where I actually got it from but it's great for testing for broken switches

Snake Roy!!!! best artwork ever!!
Great to see you managed to get a German black model that I think you were after for a while.
Thanks!
1:05 this Plugs are also used in Switzerland
That's awesome, I would be stoked to get one of those for the collection

Good job man, really entertaining video! Love watching these obscure console refurbs.
Thanks man!
Smh, Move aside "Game Boy", I only want the "MEGA DUCK" the SUPERIORLY names console.

What about the Mega Duck makes you like it so much?
Also great video!
Not sure... Thanks!
I'm gonna guess Elliot is a masochistic monster ....

Awesome! Hope it works, make sure to give the cartridges slot a blow!

Should of just rebuilt the inside of the factory switch. It's pretty easy just takes a bit of time
Yeah I tried that, but broke it.
So cool! You're channel is great! I like your collection but i think it's weird that you are so obsessed with Mega ducks) Why do you like them so much?
Thanks mate! Not sure!
This is not a clone system. A clone system would play Game Boy games. This is a cheap knock off or ripoff.
Very interesting console!! What do you want to get for your collection next? 😊
There is a Japanese Mega Duck which would be amazing.
Interesting little console! Thanks for the video
You're welcome!
I want one now even know i have two Gameboys
Oh hey fellas
That isn't a game boy "clone". "Clone" systems play the game's from the system they are "cloning". Mega Duck is more like a Game Boy "knockoff".
Nice find for you enjoy
Great video Elliot. Congrats!
Thanks dude!
Hey retro your channel has inspired me to make a new retro Channel thank you so much for your content
Awesome man!
Very different without music...
Yeah, clips where too short though.
Is that knife legal where you live?
Probably to own, but not to carry.
Why is it called the Mega Duck?
Bert 64
The people who thought of that name must have been on serious quack.
WH250398 Oh I see
IMO the south American branding "cougar boy" was much worse because of ... connotations ...
Can it play game boy games?
Sweet console. Awesome video too
Thanks man!
Why do you need these clone game boys?
I don't! I just like them!
Cheers! Love the mega duck videos
Thanks mate!
