Gutshot with Explosive Payload for some reason increases the EP damage even with a headshot. In PvP, you can decrease its TTK by quite a bit with Radiant.
For me the end all be all value behind this weapon is that it’s a strand weapon that is good at distance. In endgame pve content, good at distance, is literally all that matters. But even if you dont suspend them into the combo, the coverage of this one ability is even greater. Most people would have to now watch out for the bomb AND the suspend dive. So it would work best in a closed area. Edit: just tried the ensnaring slam with bombadiers and it does not drop the bomb which sucks but if the new aspect works on a regular dodge it may still be something I'll consider.
People laughed at me but I was wanting the fourth times/hatchling roll. Nobody seems to be leaning into strand in PVE and it's weird. I chuckled at the just trying to reload Duality clip. The struggle.
I think Gutshot/Hatchling is the PVE roll assuming you're leaning into Threadlings (otherwise Gutshot/EP); Gutshot applies to all non-precision damage dealt by the gun, which should include Threadlings it generates (unclear to me exactly how it works in the context of Gutshot requiring you to ADS; do you need ADS when the thing spawns or when it hits?)

Cool guy, I don’t know how you could be of sound mind to think that primaries are powerful in this sandbox. Yes, kinetic tremors + S2L on Hung Jury, this weapon, and multiple others with the right combinations and rolls can be viable and truly shine in some areas in the game. I don’t know if you ever tried double special, but it has shown to be objectively, in every scenario, the best in slot playstyle in PvE. The true meta. With the way armor mods are right now (special finisher, ammo finders, scavs) and we have artifact mods that deal with ammo economy (Bricks from Beyond, Lucent Finisher, etc), the MYRIAD of ways to deal with champs, the buffed enemies in harder content. All of these things generally lead to a single, most effective solution: double special. These days you have no right in saying that you don’t like double special because it has bad ammo economy (see: mods, scavs, the juggler method) or to think it won’t let you stun champs (see: 3.0 verbs vs champs, glaives + swords anti champ, any future special weapon in a season that could stun a champ i.e GL unstop) or you think that it’s not effective (in all tests and in all scenarios, specials by far exceed damage output than that of primaries). There was a popular video made by Aegis, a d2 speed runner, talking about double special. I highly advise you watching that video. Unless bungie is going to look at how this sandbox is these days and how anti primary the content can be, I will be right behind you and supporting all your primary reviews in PvE. But as of now, sorry, I can’t see how in my right mind I could replace a primary STRAND weapon in my kinetic slot that would deal LESS damage than a KINETIC SPECIAL. Think about that.
You know what since he's going over every single class and putting timestamps in for each class...I respect that. Although I'm not gonna lie, I skipped ahead to the titan portion and I basically just got told "Yeah its good, but you've got better options. Just go back to the immortal"
With Gutshot EP it actually increases your Crit damage in PvP albeit a small amount this is enough to push this scout into a 3 tap with radiant. Using Radiant Leap with Classy Contender you can keep radiant up easily for a 0.60 ttk.
If you can get past the gun leaping backwards about a foot with every shot like a ship's cannon and the "GLUNK-GLUNK-GLUNK-GLUNK-GLUNK" Omolon firing sound (2 floppy plastic pipes striking each other) then it's great.
There are so many good rolls on this gun. I have kept four so far and there are a couple more I want. It feels so good. I have really liked zen moment / explosive payload.
So far, I have yet to see an unusable roll on this scout. I do have a Zen, Cascade Point roll that I suspected would be really good but have not had a chance to test it. I still have 8 of them in my inventory after weeding out some of the poorer combinations. I'm thinking I'll have to keep at least 3 of them given some of the really strong rolls I am seeing. Good job on this one Bungie!
I would play with cascade point, just because its a perk with a *fun* gameplay loop, but even better that it is a legitimately effective perk as well. I haven’t tried it with trinity ghoul yet, but I’ve liked it as a sort of harmony alternative that I pair with fusions, shotguns and sidearms.
When I got the first one I immediately when into pvp on my warlock and got 33 kills with it the first game. I NOT a pvp main however scouts are my favorite weapon period.
Taraxippos is dropping like free candy in GG, so grab it while it's hot! This weapon is filling up my vault with so many combo's I want to keep.🤣 Yes, I'm a sucker for scout rifles.🤣
I didn't even bother to throw on an exotic in supremacy last night. I stuck on a caretaker and royal executioner I'm leveling up and beamed a bunch of warlocks with an explosive payload moving target roll of this 💜
Scouts tend to excell in their elemental rolls, so it’s only fitting strand scout would do the same, we have the headstone scout, the incadescent scout, voltshot scout, very good stuff from a distance
I saw a comment on another that explains perfectly why cascade point is the best perk on the gun for pvp. Basically you dont need to get a kill with the base weapon. You can use a weapon with a really good base ttk then switch and melt. .93 ttk for 200rpm scouts isn't bad but definitely not the best.
Have you considered hatchling and gutshot straight? My understanding is that the threadling gets buffed by gutshot. Not sure how much of a buff gutshot is on scouts though.
Been using Cascade point since i got my hands on a perpetualis with it. Although I usually run it with a devil's ruin instead of trespasser, I just like to be able to melt someone whenever I want.
One of my favourite crucible scouts in the game is an old rapid hit/explosive payload Night Watch I got years ago. Needless to say, this thing is feeling pretty good! If only it didn't look so childish. :\
I've been running a Moving Target/Cascade Point roll and I can tell you, it's soooooo funny to watch how you melt a full overshielded Titan in a blink of an eye.
I was using TXPS with Tresspassor too one of the better combos with Cascade. Cascade needs to chanhe to be truly viable, it either needs stow limit removed or significantly longer.
I got super lucky with a pve one, gutshot/explosive, but on the same one I also have outlaw/hatchling, could even mix and match it's great! Still chasing that zen moment cascade though!

You know what since he's going over every single class and putting timestamps in for each class...I respect that. Although I'm not gonna lie, I skipped ahead to the titan portion and I basically just got told "Yeah its good, but you've got better options. Just go back to the immortal"
every time i watch a coolguy review for a weapon im only mildly interested in i come away with at least 3 rolls that i am excited to get
It's not replacing my Mita Multi Tool.
I've done fusion + cascade point taraxippos before! With my cartesian. Very fun.
Awesome weapon review! Anyone know what solar heavy LMG that was on the moon?
Anyone? Cool guy?
I have a keep away no distractions steady rounds, fluted barrel and it is so clean I gotta say. Also using Omolon fluid dynamics
My jaw was on the floor during the cascade clips
With Gutshot EP it actually increases your Crit damage in PvP albeit a small amount this is enough to push this scout into a 3 tap with radiant. Using Radiant Leap with Classy Contender you can keep radiant up easily for a 0.60 ttk.
For now anyway. I’m sure this will b a top priority fix for Bungo. Lol
@@Brad-ut1roImmortal needs to be a priority fix.
raid strand sidearm is my favorite … has Frenzy … freaking love it
I have proc-ed Cascade Point using a fusion rifle on a Titan barricade. Took me by surprise, using a Lodbrok.
My Strand Warlock is loving the sheer volume of Threadings.
If you can get past the gun leaping backwards about a foot with every shot like a ship's cannon and the "GLUNK-GLUNK-GLUNK-GLUNK-GLUNK" Omolon firing sound (2 floppy plastic pipes striking each other) then it's great.
Cascade Point takes it to 333.33 RPM. It makes Immortal SLOWER
I lit my torches and one of the multi 3/4 column perk rolls had fttc with hatchling and explosive to select between. I was very happy with that lol
I need to get me a good cascade point roll, watching that melt in PvP is a drug.
There are so many good rolls on this gun. I have kept four so far and there are a couple more I want. It feels so good. I have really liked zen moment / explosive payload.
Zen moment Cascade Point is super hilarious to pull off.
One of my 1st drops was zen moment and cascade with accurized or flared and stready rounds or small bore with a range mw.
You have made me seriously reconsider Cascade Point
So far, I have yet to see an unusable roll on this scout. I do have a Zen, Cascade Point roll that I suspected would be really good but have not had a chance to test it. I still have 8 of them in my inventory after weeding out some of the poorer combinations. I'm thinking I'll have to keep at least 3 of them given some of the really strong rolls I am seeing. Good job on this one Bungie!
I use it to grind medals at Shuro. 3x2 minutes for the Platinum Raids bounty. Once Unraveling Rounds procs it's game over for these adds.
That 0:55 snap double was so good it made me verbally oh!
In pvp I would recommend a sidearm and cascade point w/ zen moment with the suspend build, hard to contend with imo
The space granny roll is perfect. (Zen, Kill Clip) Already racked up 214 pvp kills and I’ve only had it for a day 😮💨
Cascade point is a great perk but i feel like its way to short they should make it a lil bit longer when activated
That’s what I said and everyone argued with me
I’ll be ready to use it and no one is around
When I got the first one I immediately when into pvp on my warlock and got 33 kills with it the first game. I NOT a pvp main however scouts are my favorite weapon period.
Taraxippos is dropping like free candy in GG, so grab it while it's hot!
This weapon is filling up my vault with so many combo's I want to keep.🤣
Yes, I'm a sucker for scout rifles.🤣
Using zen/cascade with my fighting lion ice hunter build, it is glorious
Been using Cascade point since i got my hands on a perpetualis with it. Although I usually run it with a devil's ruin instead of trespasser, I just like to be able to melt someone whenever I want.
This is actually hlgood for breaking invincible tangles with the quickness too.
"And I think it's the best strand weapon, crazy I know"
Quicksilver Storm: "Am I a joke to you?"
I got some great rolls on this I got gut shot straight with explosive payload, gut shot straight with hatchling both feel awesome
Reminds me a lot of my favorite Hygiea Nobelse roll from D1. I have a few rolls, but the onelike HN is my fav.
I have one with arrowhead, eye of the storm, and precision instrument for pvp. It’s really clean.
This weapon takes my heart as I don’t have a god roll hung jury yet
One of my favourite crucible scouts in the game is an old rapid hit/explosive payload Night Watch I got years ago. Needless to say, this thing is feeling pretty good!
If only it didn't look so childish. :\
The Prodigal Return GL can be crafted with Envious Assassin and Harmony. Been running this with Cascade point. It's been a lot of fun for me.
I have been patiently waiting for this video. 😉
I've been running a Moving Target/Cascade Point roll and I can tell you, it's soooooo funny to watch how you melt a full overshielded Titan in a blink of an eye.
Ive been using Zen Moment with Hatchling and Slthe Swarmers exotic for a good Threadling spam build
I was hoping nobody caught on to my Cascade point / Zen moment. Bruh- I’ve been melting with it.
Gunshot Straight + Explosive Payload stacks the damage and can melt ads given the right conditions.
CoolG I always ❤ your videos bro! Keep ‘‘em coming! Please start doing Mobalytics with your builds!
Coolguy has the most mellow voice in D2 content creation… except maybe Byf.
What was the solar gun used in the titan clip? Also I really like this gun for my abeyant leaps build when I need more range or unstoppable
One of my first rolls was zen/cascade. It's my favorite. It tears up in supremacy.
Holy shit that cascade point gameplay is insane.
Love the vid as always but I’m still prefer my hung jury with box breathing for pvp
