It's honestly super impressive watching them do these speedrun strats. Also funny knowing that they were 6-12 when the game came out and here they are playing it over the newer game lol. Usually it's the other way around where younger people don't want to touch the older games
as someone who's 20 that's been playing destiny since February 2016 when I got it for my 12th birthday, I can say that nostalgia plays a huge factor in why I still play D1 to this day. D2 is certainly fun but the seasonal churn out just gets tiring for me so returning to my childhood game has always been fun for me. Replaying campaign missions, running strikes and the occasional nightfall and such have been very fun to this day. The only thing for me is I haven't ever raided in D1 before. While I've run through all the raids multiple times in D2, I was too scared being my 12-14 year old self to raid in D1 and never got around to it when D2 came out although it's always been something I've wanted to do.
@fissilepear7805 I never raided in D1. Was too young and didn't have a mic either. I did year 1 crota checkpoints during year 3 but definitely not the same as actually raiding lol. I miss the game. I was so young at the time that I didn't fully understand a lot of aspects of it. Now I fully understand D2 so much that I'm doing youtube videos on it. However I still wish I could go back to D1 and get a better understanding, but with my Xbox and dvd both being gone, that will probably never happen 😞
It's the epitome of those situations when people look at more recent Day 1 raid races and speculate which streamer will get it, but forget that there is a complete ecosystem of people most have never heard about being "that guy" who can pull off the machine precision min/max output no questions. It's basically why the more familiar names fumble because you're up against people that are doing absurdity on the regular and not just a one time thing. The bar for the competition is sky high and you're up against very insanely good people.
I started playing destiny 1 when I was 11 when the dark below released, and I still think about everything I miss in destiny 1. The armors, exotics, quests, the og tower, sparrow horns, and so much more, I might have to go back sometime
God I miss Destiny 1, everyone you saw had a story behind their gear, they were lucky to have it drop, and had been trying to get it for a while, that feeling is what made Destiny special and its not present anymore
I really don’t get the view that D1 was somehow better than what we have in D2, you’re viewing D1 through EXTREMELY tinted glasses. D2 added so many QOL and gameplay upgrades that it’s almost unfair to compare the two.
Totally different games. IMO if destiny 2 retained the visual aesthetics of destiny 1 but with the updated graphics (and maybe the art style of destiny 2 is a little questionable, as the gear looks like mobile game type of stuff at times), then destiny 2 would be leaps and bounds better simply due to how the game looks. It always amazes me how destiny 1, while a much simpler game and older game than destiny 2, seems to just “look” like the game is better. Gameplay wise destiny 2 is much faster paced and actually has builds. I just wish the visuals of destiny 1 made it to destiny 2.
@@Anchor-Supremenot at all. The only improvement D2 has over D1 is frame rate, faster load times and fov. But is halo 5 better than halo 3? Fuck no. D1 is just a better game. More engaging gunplay, better campaign experiences, better art style. Better music.

Once I got on that beta they all hopped off and i just played it by myself. It was that moment then, where I simply fell in love. I never missed a single day on D1, I loved that game to death. Due to its peer to peer networking people can pull your ip address. Many do this if they don’t like you or you happen to be in a game with someone they don’t like. They then boot you offline.
There are groups out there that also have saved lists of players IP’s and make doxing lists since they can tell your rough location off your IP and I have heard story’s about people getting swatted IRL but it’s hearsay
Since destiny 1 has a low player count there aren’t many tower servers meaning people who know how to do the taunt crash glitch can sit in the tower and crash everyone’s games people like to troll and do this when due arrives (it involves using the praise the gun taunt and another but people gate keep this because if everyone could do it the game would become unplayable which I respect honestly)
So yeah destiny 1 is a great experience but once you start getting to know the community you will know who to stay away from and who is okay

I wish I came across these to do raids, I’ve never done raids ever haha
i went back and played this game a few months ago and this exact thing happened literally down to a T, i was getting carried by speedrunners years younger than me (i'm 21) and i was just struggling to remember how to do everything.
bro u need to link up w the pvp sweats. doing 3s like every weekend.
im 10000% sure that my entire friend group would go back to playing destiny 1 a good bit, if it was just on pc, almost none of us have consoles anymore unfortunately.
This was an awesome watch.
I was 10 when d1 came out crazy to think I’m still playing
I’d love to see these guys make guides on it I’d love to learn all their strats after watching their records I wonder how they find half this stuff
Yep D1’s Mechanics were amazing

The D1 Community is epic++
Funny covid coincidence.
I was playing the division 2 with some of my online friends and we got banned for a dps glitch for two weeks so we all got back on the division 1. (Which i still play to this day for survival.. i love it reminds me of Dayz meets division)

Bro I started playing d1 when the taken king came out and I was only 6 yrs old at that time and I'm 15 now lol. I would really like it if Sony remastered this game.

I made a new account now after many a year...id love to play wotm again.
Really enjoyed this, hella nostalgic
