- So yesterday Legend of Total War dropped a bombshell of a leak regarding the future of Total War Warhammer 3 with the next 3 DLCs, being Lords of Shang Yang, Dogs of War and the Monkey King. Not gonna lie I like Cathay as much as the next guy but this seems deeply concerning that Creative Assembly have learnt nothing from the past 2 years. If true I'm sure these DLC's could be great but why divert from where we are now after 8 months of drought to a great release of Thrones of Decay and now... smaller stripped down DLCs? Let's discuss.

I am not sure about the leaks honestly I do kinda believe them because we've had these swings and roundabouts for multiple years now. I do hope that IF they are true that CA realizes that MAYBE just maybe they should ask the fanbase what they want. I like Cathay I really enjoy them but flooding this game with Cathay content while other much beloved races and factions get ignored is incredibly tone death.
They just seem so unbelievable. It would just be mind bogglingly stupid for CA to do something like this, and you like to hope that there's at least some competence there.

Yes, like shadows of change, the future of 3 kingdoms, the realms of chaos campaign, the settlement rework, the launch of rome 2, the launch of total war pharoah, and above all: Hyenas. Mind boggling stupid is right in line with the history of total war which is why I do believe the leaks.
I really hope this isn’t the case I am not happy whatsoever with this roadmap!

it sounds interesting if the leaks its true also i m hyped for ogres and i want for them rework, i liked the 1st and 3rd DLCS and i dont like dogs of war faction i prefer something like IND OR KINGDOMS OF KHURESH.

CA maybe leaked to see fans opinion of the dlcs they plan. If many fans dont like it it needs big change.
It kind of makes sense. Problem: “Current fan base is very demanding with DLC in a way that doesn’t really make this profitable”. Solution: “Get new customers for whom the novelty of new monsters and factions hasn’t worn off”.
If they stop with chaos factions right after Nurgle, all Slaanesh and Khorne fans will riot x)

WE have had 11 choas lords since warhammer 3 release and only 4 order LL we do need more order factions i love choas but i feel like they are getting to much love

Tbh as time goes by the only people really into this game are people who are committed to such an extent they are going to be dissapointed. A lot of the casuals have been checking out for a while, which is why CA is thinking of crazy shit to try to get new customers.

Thrones of decay was a truly fantastic release, you had probably the best rework I have ever seen for the empire that made it so every single empire faction now feels unique. as a bonus it also had 3 characters that the fans really wanted doing one of the best campaigns. and then the nemesis on top for another good campaign from the lore.
If the leaks are true, then they looked at that and went "that worked well, lets do the exact opposite now." I find it hard to believe that they could learn literally nothing, and in fact unlearn from this recent success. But if the rumors are true then yes it might be over already.

I hope these leaks aren’t true. I just want them to finish out the chaos god style of dlcs. Khorne v. Ogres v. Monkey King and Slaneesh v. High Elves v. Dark elves. It’s right there, they’d both sell very well and they’d keep good face with the fans. Also wth not making the dogs of war a real faction is so stupid
I will prefer Khorne vs Ogres vs Vampire counts and call it blood feast. But yeah, these is the right call, but they want to do a Three Kingdoms disaster 2.0.

There is an inkling of hope in my brain saying that this was the plan before the shadows of change debacle and that the plans have changed since then, but that is very unlikely.

I mean that can't really be the case. We know that the next DLC post Thrones was supposed to be the Slannesh DLC based on the old road map. If this DLC is real then it seems like the Slannesh DLC was supposed to have ogres and Cathay in it. It seems that post SOC or maybe post Thrones they have changed it to this witch is very strange especially when thrones was arguably a success.
@@2009VandA it wasn't just SoC flopping though. They had layoffs and cancelled hyenas, they could've changed their plans 180° (and apparently ToD was fairly expensive to make)
CA has cast doom and darkness and the communities leadership is close to breaking💀
I can´t overstate how much I HATE the direction indicated by the leaks, especially the hyperfocus on Cathay. One more Lord is more than sufficient, while the old and established factions are still in so much need of reworks and additions. I was hoping they had learned a lesson with the success of ToD, but now that is in question again...

At least with a monkey King it is something a little different. But this would be like if the Empire got a ton of DLCs but all of their characters were just like wizards. You need a healthy mix otherwise you're just playing the same Lord slightly differently
This sounds awful. Hopefully this leak happened because someone at CA wanted their incompetent bosses to see the fan reaction and they'll change their plans.
Tone deaf upper management greedily inisisting on developing the game with a focus on Cathay to entice the Chinese Market. I can't see myself parting with money for anything but Neferata, Nagash, Araby and Nippon. I want to see new races and flavour, with a wrapping up by the dev team, improving the older races. I don't want another lord here and there for armies already out, I want variety for replayability, rather than seeing a lord from the lore added to an army I've played a hundred times. I know that's more work, but that's what gets me interested in playing it again.
CA has heard the community's adulation for ToD and has decided to give the people more of what they don't care about...

Hey now, give them credit for their weirdness. They built it up, then tore it down with Wh3, then built it up again with the immortal empires and chaos dwarves, then tore it down again, then built it up again, and now its time to tear it down again. The most recent DLC was a really solid addition. LOADS of great stuff.

Frankly, I'll believe it when I see it. This reeks of either mole hunting, or some of Legend's fanbase deciding to mess with him and sending him fake leaks from multiple sources.
If this is real, then it will kill the game. ToD only barely got the community's faith and good will back, pulling this kind of nonsense immediately afterward would be video game seppuku.
I hate that the only Slaanesh content is Dechala as FLC, not DLC and 0 Khorne content what so ever. I was waiting to hear your opinion and thank you.

@@danio5577 did Legend correctly predict previous DLC in the past? I noticed, that Slanesh themed DLC is officialy (and logicaly) planned by previous official road map. I would say, that is possible, that some mentioned lords (monkey king) will be in future DLC. But I would not take this leak that seriously... Just wait for official info
I know Khorne is known to be *extremely* angry, but if these leaks are true... I have no idea how absolutely livid he would be if there was no DLC for his faction. Sure, Karanak got to be a Legendary Hero, but its not entirely the same as getting a Legendary Lord.

We should have got Skulltaker as a legendary lord for skulls event. Remember when they dropped Rakarth out of nowhere? CA is so cheap now to not even give us legendary lords occasionally unless it's alongside DLC.
A lot of the focus is on CA, but I can’t help but I think GW is hand in hand responsible. The weird lord and unit selection on Kislev had to come from GW, not CA. Yin Yin not being selected as lord and two new lords also sounds like a GW decision and not CA. I bet GW wants to save those releases for table top and give CA some generic garbage. The mismanagement of releases and inconsistent quality is on CA. The Lord, race picks and lore that they choose is likely GWs doing.
I agree that GW is desperately in need of a change in their leadership and get that stiff spine more flexible and their mind a bit more open for innovation and new (better) ideas

CA need to address these leaks with a timeline. confirm deny it needs to be addressed cause they are getting out of hand and people need confirmation either way.
As much as I'd like more Cathay units etc other races from the 2nd and 1st game need some love and where the hell is the Slasnesh dlc? They really need to ask the fans what we want.

@@stevadr CA hasn't really announced anything yet to begin with. What I see right now is a massive outburst over something that might as well be thrown onto a dry newspage for fun by some troll.
I never understood the Cathay hate boner, since this faction was one of the best things to come out in WH3 on release. But hopefully you didn't really think they'd go for tigermen or anything Ind-related on a scale of a full faction. So branding them under Cathay is the best option since they don't have typical allegiance to chaos as other beastmen do.
Also, you can't know how ogres content in that DLC is going to work. And how many interactions with normal Ogre Kingdoms they're going to have in terms of units and mechanics to already draw a conclusion. All this might greatly complement ogres as a faction, so ogre players will be eager to buy it as if it was for their favourite race.
@@Prushinthespirit The thing to remember is "massive outbursts" are about the only thing that these comapnies have been shown to respond to, so unless you want a bunch of mediocre DLC's. CA didn't release thrones of decay out of the goodness of there hearts, they released it because of huge negtive reaction over their previous DLC, honestly my view is better to get in early with rage and head these things off well in advance before we get another monkey themed Shadows of Change
@@Prushinthespirit I think most people want Ogre Kingdoms fixed. That doesn't seem likely to happening because a few ogre units are added through a Cathay DLC. What holds OK back isn't lack of units, it's that the faction mechanics are shit and the legendary lords don't really have a proper identity.
As for Cathay being good, not really. This is Total War Warhammer. Can you point me towards the WHFB army book for Cathay? No, you cannot, because it isn't a WHFB army. If you want to play Total War China, there's Three Kingdoms. But of course you fuckers didn't actually want to support that game the way WHFB fans have supported TWWH over the years, so that game died. And now you want to kill WH3 as well.
And why does Cathay need sub factions? You have all of the Dragon children that you can put in the game, plus one non dragon lord being the Monkey king himself (why do we need 2 monkey LLs?)…just give us the dragon children in 1 pack with 3 lords and call it the “three kingdoms 2” DLC pack

Southern realms should be their own race with the dogs of war operating like a horde who takes on contracts for other factions
Dogs of War is not a singular entity. It's a term for mercenaries, like "soldier of fortune". You wouldn't want the big soldier of fortune horde running around and taking jobs, would you?
Honestly I think Southern realms should just be left to the mod that's been doing it for years now and the Dogs of War should focus on being a playable mercenaries with profit rather than conquest as the goal and the units available to various factions for the right price
Dude. Southern Realms and Dogs of War are connected harder than Empire and Sigmar. Half of the original tabletop Regiments of Renown come from the Southern Realms and a chunk of them used to be commanded by Borgio The Besieger.
@CommanderBohn okay, but if you just playing Tilia what's different between that and any other faction, a common unit pool makes absolute sense, but I think it would be more intresting to be a roving army taking jobs for money Grudge Brinkers style, there is a lot more narrative legs and it would be an intresting change of pace if done right
Just do it vampire coast style, with southern realms being the overarching faction and "Dogs of War" being the generals who move around with a horde and mercenaries.

I think we can all agree that if these leaks are true and they go through with it we are not far from "the future of total war warhammer 3" and given the rather questionable decisions of recent time im afraid its actually whats going to happen.

I feel the same way you do....
I really don’t think there is any way for this game to meet expectations. The problem is the game has infinite potential but is being managed in an environment where profit and efficiency are essential to continue providing content. Nothing has changed from the “costs are up” post. So many factions and races could use facelifts, reworks and redesigns. Along with new content for daemonic content and expanding and fleshing out the Immortal Empires map. To me the only way this game lives up to its potential is that there are some genuine monetary investments put into it for longterm success of Warhammer and Total War as a whole instead of just needing to turn a profit for the immediate content provided.
There should be some consideration by CA management that many people, myself included will just ignore 40k, WW1, Star Wars or Medieval 3 if they fail to have this game (WH3) live up to its potential.
Let me write down what I believe the game needs to be completed (and which I’m interested in buying):
- proper slanesh dlc (like nurgle)
- Proper khorne dlc (like nurgle)
- Proper ogre kingdom dlc (like nurgle)
- HE rework (similar to the empire)
- DE rework (de and he would have been great together with slanesh in a south east naval / colonies wars dlc)
- Brettonia rework (would be great few new units like knights on foot and some new mechanics)
- Ind mini race pack (1/2 lord lords would be enough but with their own identity)
- Kuresh mini race pack (like above)
- A proper tribes of the north dlc (WoC style)
- Legion of the damned race pack (a mixed undead faction with nagash and neferata)
- VC dlc with the blood lines (WoC style)
- Geomagnetic web rework (a patch would be enough)
- Dogs of war fleshed out eventually through different mini race packs (tilea, estasia, Araby, border prince) with a good mercenaries rework
- Hobgoblins khanate mini race pack (just one LL)
- Nippon mini race pack (same as Ind etc)
- Monkey king and some other dragon siblings
- Thanquol
- Ulricht empire dlc + toddy
CA/GW please pick up from the above whatever you like and I will be super happy to buy it full price day one. …But not the hybrid Cathey sub faction that nobody wants (how much is selling W3 in china to justify this focus on Cathey?)
I know it’s a lot of stuff and we will get very few of the above, but many reworks could be done through flc or simply patches.
The leak (if true) does not go in the right direction. I’m really afraid that the end of TW WH will be sooner than later with this awful strategic choices (that will realistically end up in poor sales).

Aside from those mini race packs for Ind, Kuresh and Nippon, which realistically are not happening. I agree with everything else on the list. And tbh CA could deliver all this content in the next 2 years.
Araby would also be nice. Also finally making the Red Duke playable.
I don’t want Cathay to turn into a faction full of different monster units like Monkeys, ogres, and tigers all bloating up the roster of Grand Cathay to the point it no longer has the imperial China feeling that I love about it
They should do a DLC with Khorne vs Slaanesh, bringing the realms of chaos into inmortal empires.
Monkey King and Jade Vampires are the only subfactions for Cathay that we need
I'd rather the monkey king was part of the Ind faction with cathay units included. It would help expand Ind lore and fit alongside their neutral beastmen theme.
Jade Vampires seems unlikely now, which is sad.
If they do nothing with Ind and Kuresh and those two giant peninsulas are left empty and blocked off, the map being partially empty and blocked will be the biggest failure. The only thing I have hope for with all the Cathay DLC is that they'll have to open up the land in order to fit all these lords.

only two Lords sound really sad only Ogres and Norsca as Preorder Races are this low when it comes to DLC Factions
Eh I mean a full priced faction mainly using existing assets doesn't sound great
No Lorenzo Lupo, no Lietpold the Black, only 9 unique units and they're mostly just versions of the same basic spearmen/crossbows/knights/cannons with no unique identity.
if the ogre lord is an actual ogre and comes with ogre improvements it wouldn't be so bad.
Getting a DoW and a slaanesh FLC kinda saves it for the first two DLCs.
Following up with a thind cathay dlc in such little time would suck though, norsca and khorne need some love before that and they're not the only ones.
The only Cathay lords I want are the dragons and Wukong. The only Cathay Lord I plan on playing often is Wukong.
But what I want is Norsca, Khorne, and Greenskins.
What we need is Ind and Kuresh.
High Elves DESPERATLY NEED A FACTION REWORK. INFLUENCE IS BLAND AND BORING.....
If HE are bad, imagine what bretonnians are. I dont even play bretonnia at this point. This faction is dead.

I wouldn't be surprised if CA intentionally pushed out some bad leaks so people are more appreciative and excited when the DLCs are revealed to be better. But I also wouldn't be surprised if the leaks are spot on...
I think CA is somewhat capitalizing on the fact that they'll open Ind and Kuresh alongside these DLCs. But if the content sucks it won't sell. They already forgot SOC.
Yeah, but if they want to open these parts, they have to enter with a banger (basically a new faction). If they will play with minor faction bullshit, they won't generate enough hype for future development of those regions. And their retarded management will determine that "players won't like Ind or Khuresh, because they didn't want to buy minor Cathayan factions dlc".
I hope they do still do a proper Slaanesh DLC for your sake at the very least

I wont buy TWW40K if they continue their treatment for their games like this. I dont want to be disapointed. I am 40K fan at first but i dont trust them at all. I dont want another DoW3 history. I dont liked their W2 DLC style (most of the time) with the exception of racepacks. And the only fantastic DLC from W3 was Chorfs for me (im not that deep into the lore so it might change my opinion about this in the future). Only time will tell.
as long as this is not the end or at least near the end, i want to think this is fine i really don´t like the Dechala part because a High elf vs Dark elf vs Slaanesh DLC would been way better, i want to think the even if the dog of war is bad at least is going to serve to enrich the mod Southern Realms, but then again when things get bad moders usually stop moding so i am not sure if thinking that is good, if i could change anything right now i would make a double cathey vs ogre kindom dlc with the Tigerman legendery lord vs Monkey king vs the Maneater, make a better dogs of war as a proper race back as the Southern Realms race pack and make High elf vs Dark elf vs Slaanesh DLC a thing again, for what i see they are going to stop making three way dlc so maybe they are going to make a Khorne vs Slaanesh dlc, but still...
The only thing I believe is the "you get an extra Ogre LL for owning 2 dlc's" since they did the same thing with Wood Elves and Beastmen. DoW is plausible even though I was hoping for 1 LL each for Tilea, Estalia and Border Princes, but I don't know enough about the lore if those factions even have recognisable LL's for each of them. The only bit of copium that's working for me is the idea that the 2 Cathay dlc's will function to populate the Ind and Kuresh peninsulas.

I can't stand the way cathay has been handled in this game. I liked the idea of the faction but I can't stand western game developers cucking out to try to make money from the Chinese market at the expense of their products being made worse. There are still a ton of missing existing factions, units, and characters, yet they are focusing on a faction that isn't even one of the most played in the desperate hope they will make some easy money from a market whose government actively tries to ban video games XD. I'm glad they are selling the lords individually now so I can make sure to never buy a single cathay lord for the rest of the game.
I'll say it, I'm concerned for Egrimm, I know Tzeentch got the changeling but we really need the mortal representatives for the mono gods. It should break down as 1 greater demon, 1 minor demon and 1 mortal lord. The only one who's gotten that is Nurgle so the other monogod factions need to catch up to that level.
I think people are blaming CA a bit too unfairly. Huge portion of this lies on GW. I actually believe the leak because of what Legend said about Kislev - that GW is essentially abandoning it because of IRL reasons, couple it with the rumors that Cathay for tabletop Old World is supposed to be shown pretty soon, it's starting to make sense

@@Prushinthespirit WH2 DLC was cross-race, and the DLC actually improved the factions affected. What factions are improved by a Cathay singleton? Even Cathay isn't improved much, as the faction isn't really in need of legions of ogres or tigermen or monkeys. It's not obvious what those units contribute to the army, aside from bloating the roster massively. Meanwhile the actual WHFB armies need a fair bit of work that can't happen because CA are busy pushing out garbage for Cathay.
The smaller dlcs packs isn't just a financial decision, its also a marketing one. By releasing smaller dlcs more frequently WH3 will have greater presence on the steam store and get more sales.
This is part of the reason why WH2 sold so well, it didn't sell that well on launch but rather over time because of its presence on the steam store, that and good reviews.
I wouldn't mind Cathay being in a DLC if it means Miao Ying and Zhao Ming getting the overhauls they should've gotten in Shadows of Change. Cathay really only needs some beefier Infantry. The tiger men or Ogres would be neat, but like, the only thing Cathay really NEEDS is an overhaul to make Zhao Ming and Miao Ying more relevant to actually play. Yuan Bo makes them kinda irrelevant and was honestly the main thing that sold me on SoC.
Would like to see Cathay, Kislev, and Tzeentch get the mechanics overhauls that would make them better (Kislev getting railroaded out of existence by Throt by turn 20 sucks, Kairos is a boring campaign in a rough starting place, and Zhao and Miao are irrelevant), but without those factions getting DLCs for them, it's completely unlikely we'd get overhauls for them. It's a bad financial investment to do a full overhaul if it's not to incentivize selling the new LLs.
Would LOVE to see mini individual packs in the same style of ToD's broken up packs. For example, I (and potentially a group of other people) would LOVE to see a small $5-8 pack of Cult of Ulric with Boris Todbringer, a Hero, and a handful of units (even though we just got Elspeth).
I would be fine with these DLCs in concept if they weren't coming in succession or were implemented better. I honestly would prefer the following.
1. Slaanesh vs Dark Elves vs High Elves DLC.
2. Khorne vs Ogres vs Lizardmen DLC.
3. Champions of Chaos style Lord Pack/rework for Norsca.
4. Dogs of War FLC.
5. Cathay Tigerman and Cathay Monkey King mini-Lord pack DLC.
6. Nagash vs Neferata expansion.
I am happy DoW are getting added in, but the Cathay overload isn't great especially when there are so many other factions in need of tlc.

Unrelatedly, one of my friends loves the changeling campaign and plays it often in multiplayer campaigns. I dont care for the demon factions personally, but i thought the changeling was something people liked.
I think that they're focusing on Cathay because GW is preparing for their release in TOW.
Now, as for what this info brings, I have several disappointments. First of, finish the chaos oriented DLCs with a Chaos faction and two old factions getting a rework. Slaanesh High Elves and Dark Elves should've been next.
The only problem with the lord's of shangyang is that it probably means no Ind per se. Also, I would prefer having wukong there, make it a big Cathay dlc.
And I have a big problem with Dogs of War. If you don't have at least a LL for Estalia, Tilea, Border Princes and (hopefully) New World Colonies, you are falling flat behinds a mod. Yes, one of the biggest, better and older mods, but still, you're releasing half it's content, it's not the Dogs of War, it's just the Dogs (the cheap ass dogs as ca that just want to sell us cheap shit and laugh at our faces).
Can't we just have good things for more than once every couple years?

Eh, I'm just tired of Cathay. It's a slow and boring facton without exciting moments in fights other than artillery hiting blobs - and dwarves and empire do it better. Don't takem e wrong, I love big trouble in little China, but all of those factions feel like the same to me.
I'll just skip those DLCs. I get it, it sells in China, hopefuly enough so they keep making DCLs I ACTUALLY would buy in the future. I like huge monsters, sync kills and gory AoE stuff, so I hope in the future we actually get the Nagash DLC focused on new story mechanics in single player, this is basically the only thing I still want from medieval warhammer, after that I just hope total war 40k isn't a shaitshow.
I swear to the chaos gods, managers looking at sales and statistics are the WORST thing for gaming industry. Or any industry, for that matter. CA should do, what they did best in WH2 and with Chaos Dwarves, Champions of Chaos and Thrones of Decay. 3 DLCs to appease the damn chinese market. If you want to bootlick less earning markets, do it. Sink the ship we build for you, but dont expect the high value market that is NA and Europe to ever pay you anything again.

Ogre Kingdoms need more units added to their roster. Especially before other factions get as many alternative Ogre units as Ogre Kingdoms have in their main faction.

What I agree with you on along with possibly others is the fact that if they make Dechele ( one of my favorite characters in the series ) a FLC lord, is an absolute slap in the face for Slaaneshi fans because shes prolly the best overall character that they have left besides the few slaaneshi daemons uve mentioned before in the past.
I agree that CA and Sega are also cutting Warhammer 3 short because of CA's own mistakes! ( they've obviously made them and now we have the pay the price.... )
I also agree with expanding the Border Princes into their own mini race packs ( I say go full race pack, fuck it ) and then add in the Halflings as a sub race pack and so on.
Overall this is what I agree with ur video ( im sure I've missed a few things because its been a fews, so bare with me )
However, I strongly disagree fans in this video and yourself in the sense of "too much Cathay!" Look, a lot of us including myself are Cathay fans, the East has almost nothing and we all know Cathay ( lore wise, idk think game wise ) is as big as the Empire, brets, and a few others all combined ), so them doing sub culture packs with Tiger men and Ogres I don't honestly see the problem at all...Especially when we're not gonna possibly get tiger men of Ind thanks to CA dropping the ball time to time. Overall the way I see it, is that CA is doing a western expansion pack and then an eastern expansion pack ( shifting back and forth from the old world to the eastern world ) and idk why that's upsetting at all....
Second part I disagree with is your feelings on the the possible two new characters, sure we could use Dien Ch'ing or Yin-Tuan or a few others, but you're not gonna be invested as much in almost any of these characters because they have so little written lore of them that they wont amount to much for you, but if you give it time to cook and allow them to be est. then they could be good. Even meme lords for warhammer like Manny boi people still were pleased to see make it into the game ( even though it was warhammer 1 ) along with a few other characters as well and this leads to my next point as well
From what I'm understanding and judging from your stance and opinion you'd like the entire old world finished. I mean if you had ur choice you said in the video that you'd like them to finish up the dragon siblings and call it good, but if we have the roadmap that we have now you'd rather them focus basically absolutely everything on the old world and new ( elves for example you've used ) and that's it without even touching the East, and that same logic is whats wrong with warhammer. I understand wanting to add more and more stuff especially missing parts for the old world here and there, but that style of basically obsessing over it and not letting others shine is why we have a million stories of the old world, retold by the same people, etc etc etc. Nothing like Snakemen, fishmen, Grand Cathay ( although they have some lore when compared to the rest of the list ), Nippon, Ogres and Chorfs ( for the most part ), Tiger men of Ind, Kingdom's of Ind, etc aren't ever touched or flushed out and we know this with both SoC and the End Times, shit all you want on the End Times but at least they mentioned Grand Cathay while SoC didn't even if its a page or a foot note. You could argue 6th edition lizardmen and count it as SoC as them mentioning Cathay and same goes with the Ogre Army books, but still. I think just because you and others feel a way you shouldn't discount or feel CA has to go over the top to appease your interest in whats possibly the next DLC.
Thirdly, using Shadows of Change ( short change ) isn't a good bench mark to apply for ur argument either ( 2023 alone showcases this to a certain extent as kilsev again was at least in 2023 ( late ) the most played faction in most of the world ) because we all know CA and the clown CEO's at the time ( or even now who knows ) were trying to make us pay for their fuck up on the Hyenas project, and I think a few total war channels like Legend of Total war pointed this out. If we had been given a proper DLC with as much love and care as Thrones of Decay ( which was heading in the same direction ) that DLC would of blown up just as big and we could of had more years to come, but we didn't cause they messed up, so i think its unfair to use that DLC to dictate if Cathay deserves more DLCs or not in the future.
I enjoy your content for the most part, and I understand the skepticism for CA, but I think there are more Grand Cathay fans than you believe they are and it's quite frustrating when you come across as dismissing Cathay fans in believing no ones really wants to play them. When CA released the most played campaigns for Warhammer 3 at the time ( 2022 ) and Grand Cathay was 2nd place ( specifically the northern provinces ). As for 2023 Most of the world has Kilsev as the most played faction ( late 2023 ), but Grand Cathay is the most played in Asia. ( hence why i said way up above they're trying to balance both markets. )
All in all, I think CA and Sega are punishing the fanbase as a whole for their own failures ( CA mostly ) because of side projects and the lack of effort put into the game like we saw in Warhammer 2 ( which is why they were generally much better ), yet I hope Team Sophia turns Warhammer 3 into the same level as Warhammer 2 was, and they keep themselves on track with more dlcs and years to come. However, I dont think your stance on this is helping in the sense of basically saying "nope we dont need cathay when we got everything else" because no matter how u put it, that's what it came across.
I don't really believe the leaks, but I like that they are rather precise in what they predict.
So discussing them makes actual sense and we can determine properly weither they were correct afterwards.
So we're looking at 3 DLCs where Cathay gets 4 lords that aren't dragons, and the dogs of war. A single Slaanesh FLC lord as the entirety of support for chaos for, what, a year? Awesome, not like we needed any new units for slaanesh or khorne anyways I guess. I might get DoW depending on how they're going to work, but these cathayan DLC's can go ahead and do what they're meant to do; pull in Chinese money, not mine. Its really annoying, they got to a situation where consumers were happy with what they're getting for what they paid for finally, and here we are, switching up the formula AGAIN

Doing a double cathay race dlc is a weird idea. Doing 2 is a bizarre idea.
I could see ot if it was a Cathay vs Ogre dlc like we thought it was, and we get a FLC dragon or smth. The double MK dlc is just weird though. It could maybe have worked if it was like, Cathay vs Ind with 2 MKs fighting it out with each other, but double cathay again with a 3rd Cathay LL as flc is just even weirder.
It's strange, none of the concepts for any of the proposed units and characters are bad, (sound quite cool actually); but the implementation and prioritization over more important aspects of the setting is nuts and downright financially suicidal.
TBH as a chinese person I think this is a very bad dlc planning, I'd rather have dlc for all wh3 base game races first before having another Cathay dlc. And I am pretty confident that mosy chinese players including myself would rather have dlc for the other 2 dragons after dlc for slannesh and khorne then having these

i feel like the odd man out in being excited to see more of the Dragon Siblings and Cathayan Ogres, the latter if only to make a lore accurate army for Zhao Ming, and the former because i want massive economy with Min Yin.
If they do this I fear that it will hurt WH3 to the point that they will be unable to recover from this. After the last time, the fans were mad enough but they at least made up for it somewhat. However, if they pull this cr*p then any faith that fans might have that CA or Sega care about the product might go up in smoke.
