This was very difficult to watch because it brought me back to my early childhood when my grandmother went to vote for Jagan and they couldn’t find her name at Mon Repos and told her that she had to go to BV, where she lived before the riots. She said to me that I know the election is rigged but I want to vote anyway. And huffed off to vote. It’s sad to see how the people in the country suffered because of America meddling in the politics. It took several decades before Indians can forgive what happened during riot time. Some actually went to their grave hating black people. I’m glad to see Guyana evolving into the country it always had the potential to be and hopefully we can put the riots and racial division in the past. Go 🇬🇾.

I remember in school in the late 70’s in Guyana we were required to address our teachers as comrade. Burnham pushed the communism agenda. I also remember as a kid, adult family members fearful of discussing politics I case anything negative was said of the government. Burnham set Guyana back decades.
Why are we surprise when we paint our peers as an opposition party and they oppose you. Are America and Britain democracies if they are unwilling to let other countries create and run their own system of governance? We must rethink the concept of leadership in governmental Organizations. Something new for this age.
