One of the reasons I'm your fan, is because of your dog-ged determination.. to be prepared.. so you can enjoy the trip.. not because you win, or rank high in scoring.. because your willing to try..
Love to see your perspectives on using UL backpacking gear and it's offshoots in a variety of non-traditional spaces, as well as your acknowledgment of it's shortcomings. I've done some UL backpacking myself, and have been heavily looking at Sitka and Kuiu garments for future trips to Patagonia and Vancouver Island (sticking with my HMG pack, though, Dyneema rules).
have you ever considered running the barkley race in petros tn. 100 miles in the mountains, check it out might be something you would be interested in.
Where can I get that rain shell? Sorry I didn’t catch the name in the video and didn’t see a link in the description box. Thank you and congrats on the Cocodona finish! What an epic journey. Proud Patreon supporter of all you do for others🙏
You’re right about the gloves. I use a pair of neoprene horse riding gloves. They keep my hands warm even when soaked through, and they’ve got the functionality and grip not to reduce dexterity when traversing obstacles etc.
Big mistake. Your Cuban Fiber/Dyneema jacket is waterproof and you will sweat like a pig in it . Any activity, particularly running will build up significant body heat and thus sweat. You need a lightweight breathable, water resistant/proof jacket. Why not insulative leggings and wind/water resistant pants? I feel for you. You will freeze at night. Why not water purification tablets, significantly lighter than the water filter. Your bivy is equal to the jacket. You will sweat in it. SOL makes a breathable heat reflective bivy. No 1st Aid kit?

Ken, No, I didn’t go. l’m an inventor of outdoor gear. I’m the originator of the zippered convertible pants, a patented running pack and a patented hiking pack that eliminate 5 to 8 bio mechanical inefficiencies of the backpack & 4 8 bio mechanical inefficiencies of the running pack. They both permit one to go faster, more comfortably, with greater endurance and far less fatigue. Additionally, I’ve made a 4.05 ounce Dyneema floorless tent, 4 ft X 8.5 ft X 40 in high, all glue construction. How about My DIY heat reflective clothing, breathable, wind & water repellent/proof. My anorak & over pants together weigh a mere 6.03 ounces and pack down to 2 packages that fit in each palm of my hands. Having previously made a Dyneema poncho/tarp, l’m fully aware of why not to wear Dyneema for clothing. You may be familiar with the plastic jackets worn to replicate a sauna. The same results occur with Dyneema made clothing. I just wanted you to be aware of the potential danger you were in for unless you left the zipper open while running. I trust that the jacket has put zips. If you did run with the Dynemma jacket, please let me know how you faired on the trail and how it performed during inactivity.
Good Luck Out There On That 250 miler💪💪👍!!!! Your Gonna Have To Dig Down Into That Low Gear Chilli Doesn't Have Yet😂!!! The Pale Horse Is Coming Through Watch Out🥳!!!!

what a drag to hear propaganda about "wokeness" from a man I otherwise respect, garbage in-garbage out
Facts are not propaganda
Sir, very well stated regarding the outdoor industry and how many of the comapanies sacrifice quality for political (woke) agendas.
