Thanks for filming your personal experience. As a journalist for many years this is a project I would’ve liked to do. One thing I like about this, it was raw and that’s good. Sometimes we don’t need the cinematic shots and look edits. Really good POV…definitely an eye opener and it’s good that people see this, like it or hate it…it’s the truth about what some of our people go through, who are we to judge. Respect and thank you for that eye opener. Best to you Paul Universe, way to survive!
Growing up here being a troubled youth I would constantly get kicked out, I would be out on the streets for a few days sometimes a week or more not even 16 yet and although Guam isn’t as crazy as other places around the world being homeless especially as a kid is still painful and scary. I’m a grown man now with my own little spot and I have my own kid who I would never allow to go through what I went through be it through me kicking her out or my own failures and we end up homeless. I have to be better than my parents and do better than I did yesterday for her sake. I say all that to say this. Thank you so much for this video. I appreciate this more than I can really express. May God bless you!
Wow, I really appreciate your comment, so much truth to it. Yes, we must always try to do better by our kids. Much love and respect to you and your family ❤
Paul lives in a mansion. Guam! Yes, living the life he wants. He is not homeless. He is living an alternate life, unlike many of us. Paul, you are an inspiration in many ways.
Came across this video randomly and its was a great POV. Thank you for showing and reminding me of that type of struggles that people go thru on our island. I am always in that area and hope to one day bump into Paul. God Bless All 💯🙏
I swear these are the things we fail to see, thank you for shining a light on this subject! I guess I see Paul on his bad days, because your video really made me see the good he does and just surviving with what you have left . We really do take things for granted these days and it’s sad that people like Paul have to work double time just to eat .
Paul has a lot more patience than many. He had his wife stolen, his speaker taken before my eyes, and a week later (after I went home) his bicycle missing. He, like everyone else, have bad days - thanks for understanding 🙏🏽❤.
Gunter 😂, he begs to differ. I'm opening a small investigation on the subject. Already talked to Homeless Shelly, in talks with Sophia about a video interview regarding this subject. Will have the results in upcoming video.
Meanwhile here in the US mainland. You got mostly military aged men getting handouts off the taxpayers. Monthly stipend, medical care, EBT, and housing. I've seen the homeless in Guam when I visited there earlier this year. Over 90 percent appeared to be native Chamorros. It sickens a veteran like me who served this country. To see our tax dollars wasted on conflicts abroad by the billions from greedy politicians in Washington. America could have been like Qatar, Dubai, or Hong Kong with it massive wealth. UNBELIEVABLE!!!
Wow! This is such a great experiment for you to do & share with others. Paul is so humble and with he has, he thinks of not just himself but others (you). Having relocated out here to Phoenix, AZ… was eye opening. The amount of people & their families living on the streets is crazy, but we were told it is the way many of them choose to live, and of course it does play in the fact that most are addicted to controlled substances (AZ choice of drug: Fentanyl & yes it is easier to get here since we are along the border of Mexico).
Yes, many don't realize how easy we have it here on island. Never seen Fentanyl, and I pray to god it doesn't become a problem here. Thank you for this insightful information.
I live in Seattle so this is quite a contrast to the homeless here. The people you interviewed still have their wits about them and don't live in squalor. When fentanyl and gangs get mixed in you end up with catastrophic circumstances. You seem like a compassionate person, don't lose that, but also don't put up with any forces within your community (including politicians) that justify homeless encampments, drug dens, or pitching a tent on the sidewalk under the guise of "compassion". I'm sure the bleeding hearts where I live feel really great about themselves, but when you look at the suffering of the homeless out here you realize how cruel that position is.
True. Thank God fentanyl isn't rampant here. The mainland is much harsher, the whether alone can kill you, and the people are not as giving. Your insights is much appreciated.
Sad bro You can never mimic homeless, living without power, water, money or even a ride Imagine Your family doesn't want to help, nor your friends.... Just you and God.....
wow! this was so eye-opening to some of us living outside of Guam. it was very enlightening to see this perspective on homelessness. however, it did not seem right for Paul to give you some of his earnings while you seem to be sidelining. it would've been better to see you helping Paul instead of living off him if you wanted the "real experience."
Your video came across my feed.. I live in Vegas.. great video! much respect to do what you did.. yeah and Paul a great dude humble and honest and very nice of him to give you place to stay and money.. he should probably start a RUclips or tik tok himself maybe? I would subscribe..
You are much appreciated. I did jog the idea to him, I told him I would help get it started, as of late it doesn't seem he's interested. Take care in LV and Hafa Adai from Guam.
it's sad to hear in one of the pacific island nation some people are homeless. I am from the cook island we live of the sea and land; you plant any fruit or vege in the ground they just grow very fast. There are pigs, goats, native chicken roam around, just catch it and prep, cook it
I tried talking to Paul about this. I told him he should create his channel to help him with income. As for myself, this was just an experiment. I'm actually a professional videographer. Thank you for your advice, I'll try to convince Paul.
I guess there’s different categories of homeless some have all of thee above (phones money etc… some work but still homeless I’m surprised and appreciative as well as impressed of your experiment which should be very interesting in different ways thanks and good luck above all be safe (tell us more about yourself 😇🇬🇺
😢I’m sad to see this individuals they are US citizen but they became homeless so many Contract workers here they have better life than legal residents I know it’s so hard life nowadays 😢😢 what happened to the government here in Guam
I never thought they’ll be home back home while I’ve been away for a while over 30 years Lańa Adai what did they came from? Are they from other islands? Are there from other states that sent them to Guam on the one with ticket? How do we get homeless what is our governor and our mayors and our officials to get ready to get rid of them or educate them or help them give them off the streets warm is not the mainland We don’t need all of this BS.
Guam-Its not for everyone. All the systems on Guam are a let down. They say guam is the last in everything and thats right.I dont suggest people to move to guam, to visit its ok never to stay.
I think I saw this guy at Harmon McDonald’s intersection asking for money, food, drink, etc. and thought to myself that he is not homeless because he just didn’t have the body and face of a homeless person. I was right. As for Paul, I’ll buy him food next time I see him.
Thank you. Paul is not your typical homeless person. He has family he can turn to, but chooses to live this lifestyle. I tried talking him into getting a job, but he's just not interested. He told me he had a job, but loves his freedom from responsibility above all.
Everyone has a different choice in life and paul pick this set up. Its jst ironic that other island even some country dreams to live here and work for they think Guam has a better offortunity for their family.
True. Living on Guam we are too close and need to step back to see the entire picture, as outsiders do. How I admire other races coming from Vietnam, Korea, Philippines etc...working, opening business and becoming successful.
Cool video. 20:00 Can tell Paul getting annoyed with you. Instead of just asking and asking what’s for lunch/dinner, maybe offer to help. Maybe you did, but first 20mins don’t show that. Human relationships depend on trust and reciprocity. When you remove those, there is no relationship. You’re lucky you are not in prison, or you would be Paul’s bitch. You are also burning Paul’s locations/survival methods. So that’s part of why he’s annoyed. Your documentary provides great insight though. God protect Paul. I live on Guam now and will be on the lookout for folks like Paul to help with what I can.
Honestly, first couple days was okay because I was excited. Around the third day, I stated missing my AC, cellphone, computer, and Netflix. By the fifth day I was miserable. I do have enough footage for one or two more videos. Thanks for watching.
Brother the real problem is the policies and judiciary needs to look at this issues!. The same people that took his speakers are the problem cause their normal amd taking advantage of that disable guy!. You want a real experience of why were here!. Ask a normal capable citizens that will give you honest answer!.. Its to much crime and drugs involved. Some cant go back cause of restraining order. Some of them drink so they dont feel anything, especially mosquitoes 😂😂. Its a hard life! Been there brother! Thanks for sharing...
A lot of truth in what you say. I'd like to do an interview with you. I held back in revealing some things due to an agreement I had with some. In the last video of this 3 part experiment I will reveal my honest opinion, which is pretty much in line with what you say. Thanks for your honest comment. Much appreciated. LMK if you're available for an interview, your insights will be really helpful. Thanks 🙏🏽
This guy living off government assistance AND panhandling for extra cash. Double dipping in your pockets but go for it. He can also turn to his fam? This is the dream?? Stop encouraging this nonsense.
What a humble dude Paul is. Hope to bump into him one day to show the love back 🤙🏻
yes, I've seen people bully him, yet he's never given up on people nor turn them away when they need help.
Ovhere is hafa hadai everybody's cool

It’s like I didn’t want this documentary to end. Thank you for another great POV! 👍🏽
You're welcome, thanks for watching.

That's called squatting and is pretty much a crime punishable by law.
Yes, he might as well be living in a mansion. People with huge houses and fancy cars could never find the happiness Paul found in his heart.
Such a great documentary video!! Cant wait for more..
Came across this video randomly and its was a great POV. Thank you for showing and reminding me of that type of struggles that people go thru on our island. I am always in that area and hope to one day bump into Paul. God Bless All 💯🙏

Amazing job on this. Looking forward to the next!
Thank you, much appreciated.
I appreciate this soo much Benny❤❤❤ its great!!
Thanks brother. Much appreciated 🙏🏽
What an eye opening experience that you shared with us. I watched all 3 episodes non stop! Greetings from Sydney~
Keep up the goodwill che’lu! I’ll make sure I keep a look out for Paul and all unfortunate individuals on our island that will need help to survive.
Thank You Che'lu. You're much appreciated.
Hope I meet up with Paul the next time I visit Guam. Looking forward to next video.
Yes, he's a wonderful guy. Never met anybody quite like him. I don't think he knows how to turn anybody away in need.
I like Paul he’s an honest person, I still feel bad that someone came and stole his speaker. Keep your head up Paul, blessings will come your way.
I've learned that they do this regularly to him. Paul doesn't like confrontation, and people knowing this, take full advantage of him 😞
Pretty awesome! Almost 30k views in less than a week! Way to spread awareness! We see you Gunter! lol
Gunter 😂, he begs to differ. I'm opening a small investigation on the subject. Already talked to Homeless Shelly, in talks with Sophia about a video interview regarding this subject. Will have the results in upcoming video.
Thank you for showing a different side we don’t normally see. 👏🏽
You're welcome. Thank you for watching 🙏🏽

Why don't you guys go to the state building and tell them that you are homeless and you are looking for a job.job employment will help you find a job.
I tried talking to Paul about this. I told him he should create his channel to help him with income. As for myself, this was just an experiment. I'm actually a professional videographer. Thank you for your advice, I'll try to convince Paul.

Good job Paul
So your not homeless your just pretending to be homeless
Yes. Instead of interviewing them, as many has done before, I wanted the inside scoop, so I went homeless for a week.
Northern islands better. Stay away from saipan tinian and rota pls lol
Bro you should've help paul to
