Even though I'm a PC building prodigy! I just decided to watch this and was really entertained by how great Carey is! I know everything about building a system and still felt like I was learning something new haha! Carey, keep up the fantastic work!
Guys, on the supply list for the computer, build, one of the items, the power supply wasn't mentioned. I recall it was semi-modular on the video, but on the actual list, nothing is mentioned. I am sure that it is 80+, but nothing is mentioned if it is gold or bronze, For that matter, it does not mention the brand name. I think that it is the Corsair 750W model, but then once again, nothing is mentioned of it being Gold or Bronze. Please get back to me. Other than that I thorough enjoy these videos, and would love to have Carey Holzman do more for you guys. The reason for this, with all do respect to the others, are that I find Carey to be an absolute FANTASTIC INSTRUCTOR!!
When it comes to computers and building one I am a novice, but I must say this video is so inspiring and awsome. you are a very good instructor, first time I have ever watched you. You made it so simple and easy to follow along and at the same time filling me with the confidence that I could build my own computer as long as I followed your instructions. Thank you so much. Looking foward to watching much more of you.
Having done one of these training/demo videos I can feel his pain, and totally understand the hand shakes. For me it was so exhausting when I was doing this ugh... Carey I feel your pain.
Thank you Corsair and Carey, 3-4 years ago this amazing video taught me how to build a gaming computer and ever since then, I have been building computers for myself, friends, and now I am putting it as a career choice for me, this information you have given me through this video has awaken a passion for computers I didn’t know I had.
only just discovered carey's youtube channel a few days ago and have been watching him build pcs, must say i prefer the more laid back feel of his personal channel but he is still great conveyor of information :)
This is a really great video Carey ..for anyone wanting to build a PC this is as good as it gets for when it comes to easy campeezy DIY THANK YOU CAREY!!!
I happened on to one of your earlier build vlogs from about 5 years back last and was most impressed. So much so that I spent a good deal of the next few days watching Up-teen more. Last night, I subscribed and rang your bell. Great presentation there mate, but one thing was missing from this one that was in all the others - Coca Cola!
I have the corsair 500r. Technically a mid tower, but it feels like a full tower. Includes a ton of fans, including that giant stonkin side intake, so temperatures are good, and you don't have to buy any extra fans. Lots of room to add whatever you want. Cons? Cable management comes out a little awkward no matter how good a job you do, the drive caddies are horrendously cheap and bend under the weight of a hard disk. It's also really expensive for what you get. Would I recommend it? Not really, unless you're in love with the included side intake fan, and want to mount a big radiator on the top. Even then, don't pay full price for this.
If your nervous about the wiring, don't be it's different in person. Pretty easy. The only problem I had was the 24 pin Connector did not want to click in place.
My wishes for you to start focusing on the statics when building a PC i.e. like making sure that it matches. So on the next build it would be appreciated when you start I think focusing more on that and also on the casing that has a glass window for visibility to see inside.
Saw that the vid is 30 mins.. I said that I will skip installing drivers and stuff .. turned out they skipped that part XD and I watched the whole video lol
+piecaik yeah I figured as much hahah... I've assembled hundreds of PC's but still watched the whole video :D He does explain it very well, very informative for those who are not so experienced.
I found out the hard way about the vacuum cleaner effect with my original Xbox. So I always now put my PC/laptop/console on a solid surface that has a larger foot print than the device
Nice clean build, and very well explained. I have a few items to nit pick though... 1) The ssd seems rather entry level compared to the rest of the components. Since it's in the description as 'featured' you maybe didn't have much choice though. 2) For the stated scenario of a mom/pop + kid that wants to game: a) the i7 seems like overkill, could opt for an i5 and save quite a bit. b) not a -K series processor, so the Z170 board isn't totally necessary. There is an H170 version of the Gaming 3, pretty much identical features, again would save a bit. c) Most non-enthusiasts don't really want a giant pc tower. I would plan more for a micro atx build. You mention at the end upgrade/expand-ability, but again unless they are enthusiasts most current micro atx cases will still have plenty of upgrade options. Those were just my main thoughts watching it. These could be things that the customer specifically requested, in which case SURE! give them what they want. But if you were picking the parts yourself that's where I would be most inclined to make changes.
I am building a computer tomorrow!! I've watched about 5 of your previous builds. Going to be using you as a guide for my first ever computer build tomorrow. Case: Phanteks Eclipse P400S Motherboard: MSI Gaming M7 Z170A CPU: i7-6700k CPU Cooler: Phanteks PH-TC12DX RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2400 SSD1: Samsung 950 Pro SSD2: Mushkin Enhanced Reactor 1TB SATA III MLC PSU: EVGA 220-G2-0850 80 Plus Gold 850W ECO Mode Fully Modular GPU: Sapphire Nitro R9 Fury OS: Windows 10 64-bit Three main things I am worried about: CPU installation, motherboard installation (don't want to short circuit my mobo or run into a DOA board or have problems with BIOS flash update), not getting a POST, and having problems installing W10. Never done any of this before...nerve wracking!!! But still excited.
I loved it, or at least I would have, if you haven't cut off so damn many importants litle details, wich are the ones people really have a hard time with. Newegg get over it Carey explains EVERYTHING so that EVERYBODY can build a computer, even your grandmother.
Small things that make all the difference, for exemple the IO shield has a way (yes obvious but very confusing if you are already stressed for your first build), or showing acttually the holes to screw in instead of just doing a long range zoom-in. But the most important part that was missing for me was explaining the difference between the screws in the computer case, because using the wrong screws can lead to long term damage.
You might want to mention that some motherboards have odd RAM numbering schemes, and that people should check their motherboard documentation for the best RAM combination for their configuration... the instructions given here are for this motherboard specifically and may not work on other motherboards.
Sadly... no. I see many posts asking him to show installing WIndows and drivers. If they're looking for video demonstrations for fairly simple tasks as that, then memory configurations are WAY over their heads.
Doing my first pc build and have a question about the power LED you hook up at 24:29. I will not be using a hard drive for my OS & programs to be installed, using Samsung V-NAND SSD 950 Pro M.2 NVM Express that plugs into the board, do I still need to plug in the power LED? I will however be using a hard drive for mass storage.
What happened to the exhaust fans? It seems to me that after looking at computer builds that all of them have a fan somewhere to keep the insides cooler.
Really enjoyed the video, but have a couple of questions. Wondering why you chose the intel i7 processor instead of one from the i5 6000 series which all have ddr4 RAM? Could you save some money to buy an additional HDD and maybe provide more than 480GB of memory? Also: Why didn't you show the Windows installation? I suppose it was just an install through the ODD but it would've been helpful. Otherwise really enjoyed the video :0)
Hi Jennifer When Carey builds computers either on new egg or his own channel (which in my opinion is way more fun to watch) he tends not to show the full windows install as he has done it many many times before and its all the same you can just check out one of the earlier videos
+CareyHolzman thanks for replying to me. I built my computer last Christmas and I have searched RUclips for other pic builds and see how they are and they are either to long, too in-detailed or other problems. Then I found newegg and DIY garage. I love the videos because I love the way you go through the process and I hope I can go into the pic industry and hoping to start off building computers for people like you!
I have this case and there is a weird 3 pin connector, and Idk if it's for the front fans or not, but the thing is that there is also a molex connector like the one that he uses, any ideas what it is.
Anyone have bad experience with Gigabyte Mobos? I had a friend build me a pc in 2009 and it had a gigabyte motherboard. I had to live with constant freezes for years. Just wondering if they have gotten better.
Mate I just wanted to know why you put a 750w supply in when you would be using around 500w. Wanting to know because I'm trying to choose a power supply for my build that is similar to this and heard going over to much isn't power efficient. Wanting to know this is my first build and I'm doing it from watching your vids and I doubt I would be able to do it without watching you and your in depth vids keep up the great work.
+CareyHolzman no worries this is my first build I don't no how much is to much when it comes to wattage you know more than me mate i was just asking to make sure I choose the right wattage I'm on a big learning curve at the moment and loving it thanks to your videos
Is there anything noticeably wrong with this build? It's going to be my first and I'm 14 so I can't afford to mess up any parts. +H Batenburg Yes. This build says amateur all over it. Seriously? Wtf?? Looks like the guy who either made the computer or chose the parts is working for companies who makes pre-built computers.
Daniel Frisch If you would game and edit video at the same time and have budget for only one computer. If you are gonna build a computer purely for gaming, i5-6500 is your best bet.
+zionlee1004 Accountants crunch an absurd amount of numbers and very task heavy programs, so using an i7 makes the job 1000x easier it's also great for gaming if you don't plan on overclocking.

Yes! Newegg made the right choice for their RUclips channel by hiring Carey.
APOLOGIES FOR ALL OF THE RE-UPLOADS, JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE WE GOT IT RIGHT FOR YOU GUYS. TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES ON 4/20 :)
+Newegg TV its ok 4/20 every dayyyyy
+Newegg TV Could the next video be a budget pc?
around 400 to 600 dollars?
+Newegg TV I am glad that you guys got it fixed.
What did it all cost
I can't get the fans plug in the Molux connector. Can you help?
CAREY HOLZMAN!!!! That man helped me build my first PC and made it so easy

This video is great but is missing out on Carey throwing the boxes everywhere.
I agree
+R. K. Vis Carey taught me my goto phrase at our pc shop "you cant eat the silicia.. but the box doesn't say that!" *bite*
And don't forget the manuals, throws em like magic trick cards in the air haha.
Nailed it lol
i miss his dogs barking in the background.

Great to see you doing well at NewEgg Carey! Your build videos are therapeutic, always enjoy watching!
only just discovered carey's youtube channel a few days ago and have been watching him build pcs, must say i prefer the more laid back feel of his personal channel but he is still great conveyor of information :)
I nearly made this exact same system, but I got a EVGA GTX 1060 SC. I'm loving it!
Love that case with the front mounted power button and usb ports.
Always a joy to watch Carey build a computer... =) I really like how he goes indepth to explain the different aspects... Good job.
Love seeing Carey in these videos.
This is a really great video Carey ..for anyone wanting to build a PC this is as good as it gets for when it comes to easy campeezy DIY THANK YOU CAREY!!!
I'm glad to see Carey Holzman he desires to be on Neweggs RUclips channel

you are so good explaining things slow and fine
You rock, Carey!! Always enjoy your videos.

Syclia

Just built my very first computer with the same mainboard. If I hadn't watched this, it'd have been a disaster. Can't thank you enough.
A very "streamlined" Carey video but great still. The man knows his stuff. He knows his business.
If your nervous about the wiring, don't be it's different in person. Pretty easy. The only problem I had was the 24 pin Connector did not want to click in place.
have the same case, I modded a side window on it though. Surprised you're using such a old case I've had mine for 3 years now.
Hello newegg I just built very first computer using all the parts from your shop ;3
These videos never disappoint. Awesome as usual!

I have learned so much from watching your programs.
Very interesting and informative: I enjoyed how clear and organized your presentation was--Thank You!
More videos with Carey Holzman and new egg try not to mess up on editing like last time Carey doesn't support that
Well explained, good video, definitely not many like this one around here.
For people like me that don't have any experience building pc

Nice! My first pc build was done watching his video
Your videos are great and you explain everything very well. Thank you
the one and only legend, carey
I am building a computer tomorrow!! I've watched about 5 of your previous builds. Going to be using you as a guide for my first ever computer build tomorrow.

Never done any of this before...nerve wracking!!! But still excited.
don't worry about windows installation
I love his voice makes me calm and forget that I watch 30 min RUclips video
Love me some Holzman.
another great build video!!! great job carey
MORE CAREY HOLZMAN VIDEOS!!!!!
Carey You make it look so easy thumbs up!
Informative video for those who needs it, good work.
Would have been nice if you showed how you do the cable management and how you secure the cables in the back.
Carey personally keeps the optical drive industry afloat.
that was a great video. you have gave me confidence to do this. I appreciate it
the detailed instruction is awesome. keep up the great work!
Why don't you show Windows 10 installations?
because there's nothing to it load disc and answer questions, enter COA #. wait for activation confirmation.
I know this all too well, but I love watching it. Good video, keep it up
Great video, okay, Carey, how many of these tutorials need to be updated here in late 2018?
Great build video as always!
Great video Cary , if I gave you a list of what my machine has presently ,could you recommend what I would need to have to upgrade please?
Hope there's a Coke hidden behind, Carey needs it! Carey the father of all good builds.
wow crazy i wanna build a pc with all those parts, except the sandisk ssd :P
that was awesome Carey thank you
Would like to see a video of how to build a Pc for music production with a budgeting parts.
someones mom is going to have a nicer computer than me

But the most important part that was missing for me was explaining the difference between the screws in the computer case, because using the wrong screws can lead to long term damage.

awesome and best pc for a student

+Zack Tyler Valid point...but dont you think the people that is actually on the brink of building a pc has figured out as much?
Sadly... no. I see many posts asking him to show installing WIndows and drivers. If they're looking for video demonstrations for fairly simple tasks as that, then memory configurations are WAY over their heads.
John Ivar Rubach, I didn't have it figured out fully until my second full PC build :-P
As always, the best here.
Doing my first pc build and have a question about the power LED you hook up at 24:29. This video is dated 2016, do you have another more current version where your selection of components might be newer/updated?
Dis-assembly of water cooling Gaming and upgrade of some parts, try that one.
Nice video, but without having to go through pricing each of the components, what's the total parts price for this build? Thanks.
A good primer for newbies.
great job
(Sorry I'm new to builds) do you need a video card or can you use a 1 TB SSD Card?
What happened to the exhaust fans? It seems to me that after looking at computer builds that all of them have a fan somewhere to keep the insides cooler.

Do Intel CPU's come with a heatsink or do you have to buy one separately?
Question - If I save the hard drive that has the operating system from my old computer, am I capable of booting from that?
Hi Carey, where is the Coca Cola? Great build.... God bless.
I have this case and there is a weird 3 pin connector, and Idk if it's for the front fans or not, but the thing is that there is also a molex connector like the one that he uses, any ideas what it is.

What software do you use for benchmark testing?
I'll build a pic with an i3 6100, should i use the thermal paste?
my computer turns on but wont display. im using an hdmi connected to my tv.
Is there anything noticeably wrong with this build?
