  • This emerger pattern is a great one for your BWO hatch, it rides low in the water and is great when fished in tandem with another dry fly.
    Hook: Daiichi 1120 (size 16-22)
    Thread: 8/0 Uni Olive Dun
    Tail: Black Krystal Flash
    Abdomen: Stripped Peacock quill
    Thorax: Olive Antron dubbing
    Wing: Gray poly yarn, Whiting dry fly hackle (dun coloring)

    I just tried this pattern o the LO killed it with about a 15 min window hatch caught about 5 nice browns now its time to tie them up I had only bought two lost one on the river 😆 👍🏼

    I have tried so many times to tie a parachute and I never could do it, this is so much easier thank you!

    Nice pattern! Gonna tie some up for those picky eaters...at the least, it should get them to look twice! Also, good tip on tying off the parachute hackle, gonna try that for sure! Cheers!

    Is this fished as a dry or can it be a sub surface fly?

      This fly is designed to sit just under the water surface with the parachute visible.

    I found stripping peacock herl to be a giant pain and decided to just dub the body. I also found tying off the hackle a little easier using this technique: ruclips.net/video/I1Sn9JrdfpE/видео.html. To each his own. It's a cool pattern though, and I'm coming out with some great looking flies - usually my dries/emergers look a bit scraggly. Thanks again Steve and Co!
