  • Caught this bad boy on the Frying pan river after work last Saturday 4/5/2014. I was using an Orvis 4wt Fly rod and reel with 6x tippet and a size 18 mysis shrimp pattern. Fought him for 45mins to an hour before we turned the camera on to video the landing. Look closely in the beginning of the video to see the fish under the water. Shout Out to Will Casey for helping me land this pig and getting this awesome video. also special thanks to the two guys that were fishing across from us who ran over to help Will land him, and for bringing beers to celebrate this Epic catch.

I caught a 26 inch rainbow out of the toilet bowl last year in the fall on a HD trout minnow which I also had the barbs pinched.. it was a beautiful fish and my PB rainbow.. I love the Pan.. such a beautiful river to fish on 🎣🐟 I released the bow as well.. I usually don’t keep fish at all

The good ole toilet bowl with Ruedi above, Mysis capital of the world! Pig city! I took a Mysis pattern I had tied for the Frying Pan out of my flybox on the Beaverhead and promptly got into a 7 pound rainbow, gorgeous fish!

That’s just below the Reudi reservoir, that is in the spillway of the damn. It’s super deep in that section, they also feed the reservoir trout these small shrimp, so they spill into this bowl and fish eat really good year around. Shrimp flies , about 8-10ft of line from the surface w 3 split shot to get it down deep and you will catch 18-24inch trout all day there

I have caught many fish and don't think kill rate to be 30% I have a small stream at my house and have dams I built I have transported 100s of fish over the years and have lost fish and that's from transporting fish into a 5 gallon bucket to a cooler to my stream an hour away.I release them and usually feeding the fish the following day.I enjoy watching the fish in my stream feeding them and see how they feed on everything from mice to minnows.I only lose fish at my house due to occasionally a mink or blue heron or the fish are washed down stream in a storm.I have transported fish from 8 in to over 20in.Ingive them a chance to live at least since most people in my state Maryland will keep the fish they catch.
