It's been a long time coming, but our first trackday of 2021 finally happened with Opentrack at Cadwell Park, but the 306 almost didn't even make it out on track thanks to some 'slight' issues on the way to the circuit.
The MG boys are out in force with Ben, Dan, Martin and Dougy all driving their ZS180s flat out. Will the 306 even make it out on track, and how would it compare to the MGs...? Watch to find out.

Love a budget track car, those mgs are not as bad as people make out bit of budget fun and almost a modern classic actually looked at a track prepped one a while back for 1100 quid.
Brings back memories of my Clio getting stuck in 3rd gear .
Snett to home in 3rd = 50mph all the way 🤦♂️
Done simular clutch went, jumped it in gear on the starter forced it in 3rd with rev tickling and 30miles of sweating hard trying to read the road.
M3 in Germany all the way back to Bedford stuck in 3rd ferry and all, what a weekend !

Often gets tongues wagging at trackdays though....good news is the Marshalls at cadwell are usually considered in their response 👍🏼

306 looks well dialled now... or maybe it’s just complimented by Matt’s driving
Any feedback on those tyres you were testing out?
The 306 does turn in a treat! The tyres definitely had the grip but we got them a little toastie and nailed the edges. Probably because the 306 only has around 2.25 degrees camber up front so we're going to test the medium compounds on the same setup and then try the softs again with more camber!
Fairly certain I saw you guys today on the M6 southbound, if not there are 2 other guys travelling around with a Clio and a 306 both track prepped

Good shout...I had the 1.6gti box on my 205mi16 running 187bhp and it was perfect, didn’t miss a beat........the perfect irony that this car was officially named the 306 Gti6 as I recall....only to take it back to 5! 😂👍🏼
Note - top speed may be limited to 130 ish...but it’ll get there fucking fast!🤷🏻♂️

Front suspension - KW coilovers and 2.25 degrees negative camber (machined hubs, standard top mounts)
Rear suspension - 21mm torsion bars, 205 Bilstein Group A dampers, solid beam mounts, Hybrid ARB

Can i legally put a sport steering wheel on a road car with airbags. Ive got a vw polo 1.2 9n with 54 hp. Do you think i should take it to a track before i get myself a better car or just get myself a better car?
Why do you want a steering wheel? The reason we put them on is so that we can space them out with a steering wheel spacer in order to get the right distance so that our wrists are resting on top of the wheel.
It doesn't matter what car you take on track really as long as it's mechanically sound with 4 of the same brand tyres on all corners with good tread, good quality brake pads, fresh brake fluid, etc.
@@CamberandCombustion Also do you know any good tracks for a low power car? Because many will probably be boring and i need to find a track with tight corners.
