Lots of others are having similar issues if you check the comments over on the nexus page. Just a warning to those considering using it to make sure you test and make sure all of the skills are leveling up properly before you get deep into a playthrough only to realize one of your skills is broken.
Having that problem too, if it helps, I think any mod that does anything to the actor values may causing the problem, I was attempting to use this mod with classic classes and birth signs SSE (Reimagined) with the set AV scripts addon and I noticed the problem, when I turned it off, it started to work again, also, if you edited the Experience mod's ini, it may have also stopped the skills from leveling as well
I spent a couple hours playing a game only to realize that none of my skills were increasing despite making it to level 7. I fucking hate mods that requires you to manually mess around with code and shit.

Timely as usual! I was just exploring mods that would allow mw to approach the game in a new way, and seriously, I think every one of these mods is going to be added to my game!
Great video. I'm actually using most of this mods already. Except for "Dragon souls to perk points". Instead I'm using a mod that gives you perk points for completing radiant quests (forgot the exact name) combined with missives. This was you have a very good purpose to make those radiant quests.
I love this and the fact that you take the time to walk through and give some examples of everything. Many just say here is the mod, this is what it does, this is how it work, this is how it looks, on to the next one. You really seem to take the time to playtest them and give more than just feedback but personal examples and comparisons. Thank you for this awesome showcase!
Excellent video. Despite being interested in these mods I had been avoiding them for a while because I didnt like how they each interacted with the vanilla system. But combining them together to create an entirely new system looks to work really well. For example 'Exercise' plus the 10 points you gain from every level made my characters stats grow too quickly for my liking in the early game. On the other hand 'Geometric Stat Growth' made my characters stats grow way too slowly. But combining the two looks like a very interesting synergy.
How beautiful are the modern mods though? It literally turned skyrim into a modern game. I think the only thing we are lacking at this point is good enemy ai and that's it
Experience is freaking AMAZING! The more i played with it, the more bummed i was that we didnt get this sort of leveling system in the base game. I really enjoyed pairing it with Requiem once i got the patching sorted.
Thanks so much for this SG. I just came back to Skyrim and wouldn't have known about Uncapper or the rewritten Static Skill Leveling if not for this video. I remember having inconsistencies with the original SSL a year ago (probably my fault in SSEEdit, lul) and hopefully it's all fixed this time following your guide(s).
Really good advice for yet another play through - Thank you :) These mods should probably be in the base of all new modlists. After all it is suppose to an RPG, so it would be nice to be rewarded for playing it that way.
Important to note that Geometric Growth is by the same author as Exhaustion and Exercise and is intended as an ALTERNATIVE to Exercise. They do function together, but you'll be getting the stat growth from Exercise in addition to the stat growth on level up from Geometric Growth, so if you want to use them together make sure to adjust the MCM accordingly. (and no, he does not intend to patch them for use together because to him, Exercise sort of naturally grows geometrically)
The fact that these mods exist and skyrim is mostly unchanged as it is despite its immense potential is truly telling by how its handled by its own creators
Its so cool to see what Skyrim become, i played some heavy modded list over the time, but i like to keep in touch with the old buggy Skyrim that i fell in love with over 10 years ago
Not sure how I feel on Static Skill Leveling Rewritten On one hand, I don't have to farm Pickpocket. On the other hand, I don't have to farm Pickpocket.
I also recommend as an alternative or alongside geometric stat growth the mod limited leveling by rough shot that decreases the amount of stat gain you get per level to a tiny 5 . I also recommend any mod that gives you a permanent bonus every time you make a skill legendary and a mod that makes legendary return you to a moderate value rather than resetting you to the beginning that way you get a constant bonus for constantly leveling a skill without sacrificing perks
Great list. I love pretty much all of your suggestions except for one. I'll pass on the Static Skills Leveling one, because to me, it is immersion breaking to be able to gain points in a skill I never used, and it makes sense to have to use a skill in order to grow stronger/better at it. Increasing skills through repeated use and practice feels just as natural IMO as repeatedly lifting weights to increase one's lifting strength or reading a lot to improve reading ability and speed. If anything, I'd say Static Skill Leveling sounds more like an exploit to me than vanilla, 'magically' gaining knowledge in something you may never have even thought about doing before, lol. :P That being said, I think I'll use every other mod you suggested in my newest modlist, so thanks a lot for this video and your suggestions. Cheers!
All that talk about increasing stats through exhaustion, and then you suggest disabling the immersive activity based skill progression from the base game. Basically inverting the immersiveness of the stats and the skills.
The game is designed for +/- 30th character level. Perks tell you about it, Dragon Shouts tell you about it, "powerful" artifacts hint at it, and even magic tells you about it. You misunderstand the meaning of RPG. What 50+ levels in the Static Skill Leveling Rewritten modification? What are they for? With this setting, you will spend a whole year of real time developing a character to level 30, and up to 50 and above - this already looks like the philosophy of Korean MMOs. Your maximum is four full-fledged constellations up to 80-100 for role-playing and a little up to 25-50 in two more constellations up to level 26. Already at level 27, suddenly grown creatures will await you, in particular, these will be magicians with strong spells, plus at level 28, vampire bosses will humiliate you and dragons will get an auto-level, which will grow even more. Level 26 is optimal for this game and the point is to have time to evenly improve all your skills in the original game and at a certain level stop opening the development menu, thereby freezing the growth of creatures.
Any chance you could do a full tutorial on how to get Experience/Leveling Freedom/Skyrim Skill Uncapper/Static Skill Leveling Rewritten to all work properly in tandem? People, including me, have been having problems.
This may be an unpopular opinion but one of the big draws of the elder scrolls series for me has always been its use-based skill xp system. It stood out from other RPGs and it makes logical sense. Use a skill, it gets better. You can't improve your stealth by running berserk-style into every fight. That said, I also realize that the skill xp system in Skyrim is pretty busted, and I'm always looking out for ways to make it less jank, like giving more xp per cast to higher level spells, passive armor xp from running around, and training dummies being actually useful for learning combat skills. Which is the only reason I might try this more traditional RPG style, although I doubt I'll keep it (as there are a million RPGs out there using basically the same system). Honestly, my ideal system for Skyrim would be one that gives skill xp based on the difficulty or success level of the task. Weapon skills should grow based on the damage you deal, not your hit count. Magic should grow based on damage dealt or healed, mitigated by flesh spells, absorbed by wards, etc. Stealth should grow faster as the difficulty of remaining in stealth rises. And so on. And XP should certain never be penalized for playing smart, like by raising your weapon/spell damage or actively blocking and dodging attacks. I'd like to suggest another perk point mod that I enjoy. "Perk Points and More Gold for Bounty Quests" does exactly what the title says. Every time you turn in a quest to kill a giant, a bandit leader, or a dragon, you get a perk point and a bounty that is actually worth chasing. IMHO a very immersive way to profit as a mercenary and progress your character in a way that also promotes exploration and interacting with the world, and it makes bounty hunting quite a lucrative job that can be done alongside your chosen guild/s quests.
At the beginning around 0:13, to the left of the girl who fell is a .nif and texture - these are throughout Skyrim, and the texture you are using and the transition to the edge of that .nif hides the seams very, very well. What mod are you using for those? RockTundraLand01 is an example of one of them.
I love mods and theyre also a big part of my experience too. But if youre doing that much to the game youre no longer playing the same game just play something else that meets what you want.
Erm.. You are adding a mod that improves your stamina while running to add immersion, but then adding a mod that means you can swing sword for days and still be 15 onehanded.. seems purpose breaking
Right ? Earlier he's like "just dumping points into a stat when you lvl up is dumb, much more immersive if it increases when you use it", but later he's like "having to use skills to level them up is dumb, it's way better if you can just dump points into them when you lvl up". Contradictory much ?
@@strawhatoverlord9184 Indeed. The Static Skills Leveling one is the only one I won't be using in the list. I think the vanilla skill leveling method makes a lot more sense, like lifting weights repeatedly to improve lifting strength. Makes a lot more sense than magically gaining alchemy when you never even touched the stuff. I will however still definitely use Skyrim Skill Uncapper to increase the skill cap, and to lower the speed at which XP is gained for skills because they do tend to go up too fast for my taste.
Indeed. I think people who use mods and completely turn it into a different game should uninstall the mods. If you don’t like the game the way it is, uninstall
@@LockPick-g2b lol, if you limit yourself to only vanilla skyrim you might be missing out man, mods are amazing, and they are a part of the game, without mods the game would've been dead all those years ago
I have a question, im following the same progression setup as you, but i see you are using valhalla combat in addition to exhaustion, how did you make the 2 mods cooperate ? The only way i found is to deactivate Valhalla combat stamina debuff, but even then, my stamina is still regenerating above exhaustion limit. For example lets say that, with exhaustion, my stamina fell to 50% and can't go above, with vahalla combat installed, after consuming stamina, it is going back up to 50% really fast as it should be, but is slowly (1% per 3 seconds) regenerating the entire bar afterward, like, if i wait for 5 minutes, my exhaustion would go back to 100% as nothing happened. Is this normal ? Or did i miss something between the 2 ?
idk I dislike the static lvling mod but only because if I use a thing it should increase, like honing my skill with a weapon or running around in armor to be more accustom to it weight and aware of it pivot points
With Static Skill Leveling you can be a master enchanter without ever touching an enchanting table, or a master archer without ever shooting a bow. How does that make sense?
Can someone tell me which settings remove the skill caps i have on the static skill levelling menu? Unlike in the video at 8:24 , mine has a cap ex. "Smithing 20/63". I have Experience, Skyrim Skill Uncapper, and Static Skill Levelling Rewritten mods downloaded. Thanks!
Take what I say with a grain of salt, but it seems that the static skill mod is giving a lot of people issues, for example no matter if i edit the .ini or mcm, none of what I change actually does anything, no matter what version of experience I use

@@evilpac2327 I agree, it's also because a lot of mods are "utility" or graphical. There are not enough mods that CHANGE the vanilla experience enough to make it not the vanilla experience.
@@azu260 nah u don’t understand
My pc already heating up from watching this😂😂😂
I have a question, im following the same progression setup as you, but i see you are using valhalla combat in addition to exhaustion, how did you make the 2 mods cooperate ? The only way i found is to deactivate Valhalla combat stamina debuff, but even then, my stamina is still regenerating above exhaustion limit.
For example lets say that, with exhaustion, my stamina fell to 50% and can't go above, with vahalla combat installed, after consuming stamina, it is going back up to 50% really fast as it should be, but is slowly (1% per 3 seconds) regenerating the entire bar afterward, like, if i wait for 5 minutes, my exhaustion would go back to 100% as nothing happened. Is this normal ? Or did i miss something between the 2 ?
i need a mod that decreses my skills over time
idk I dislike the static lvling mod but only because if I use a thing it should increase, like honing my skill with a weapon or running around in armor to be more accustom to it weight and aware of it pivot points
I'd love if you ever released your Skyrim setup as a wabbajack modpack.
With Static Skill Leveling you can be a master enchanter without ever touching an enchanting table, or a master archer without ever shooting a bow. How does that make sense?
Very, very, very, very nice!
I may have to give these a try. Also, my main question is what Mod line up are you running because it looks fantastic!
Nevermind....I found his mod list XD
Can someone tell me which settings remove the skill caps i have on the static skill levelling menu? Unlike in the video at 8:24 , mine has a cap ex. "Smithing 20/63". I have Experience, Skyrim Skill Uncapper, and Static Skill Levelling Rewritten mods downloaded. Thanks!
Take what I say with a grain of salt, but it seems that the static skill mod is giving a lot of people issues, for example no matter if i edit the .ini or mcm, none of what I change actually does anything, no matter what version of experience I use
Great progression modlist you have here.
Been playing with them for a little while, do you by any chance have the Experience's skill cap turned on?
I remember back then in 2010 when I really hate the game because I can't dodge or parry an enemy, now you can do it with mods :], however it's the best dragon game at that time and the music OMG!!! DO VA KIN lol
Dude amazing video!
I'm a bit of a armors mods collector, and I'd love to know what armor mod your character is using
It's called Viking Armor Collection
I use and love the experiance mod I’ll check out the rest of these, sky shards I personally hate though look super cheese.
What is the sprint mod and combat mods?
my new pc is being built i can’t wait to finally play modded skyrim with a good frame rate 😭
I want to know what armor mod is that and hair you used
Viking Armor Collection
please make a collection on nexus for all your mods
How did you patch static skill leveling and experience mod to match your ui choice in the skill menu?
What's your favorite mods in the game
Experience is my favorite mod
I wonder if it's possible to make Exhaustion and Exercise work only when Survival Mode is enabled.
can you tell me what are your AI MCO movesets? i've been trying to find some good ones that work for animated armoury and heavy armoury
I use holmgang
@@SoftGamingOfficial hmm, i tried that one yesterday, but I'm gonna try out some of the For Honor in skyrim ones
@@SoftGamingOfficialLove all your Skyrim vids thank you! I believe you play also with a controller, would you consider doing a vid on your choice controller set up?? Thanks again!!!
@@ikeharrison1 hey thanks man yea I can take a look
What mod you using for the magic circle when you cast? Looks cool. :)
Strange runes mod
Hey love the video. Was wondering about the compatability between exhuastion/exercise and static skill leveling. Would the upgrade attribute such as health or magicka interfere with the stats upgrading that comes with exhuastion and excercise? thanks
Do you mean geometric Stat growth? And no they are separate
What is the armor your Dragonborn wears?
for some reason every time I level up my skill cap increases, by the time I'm level 20 my skill cap is around 400. And I don't know what is causing that
No Pumping Iron?
Any chance of updating the google drive that has your modlist soon :), really love how your game looks
Hey yes I will do soon
@@SoftGamingOfficial good to hear 👍
For some reason when I tried to use Static Skill Leveling Rewritten, the MCM didn't appear, and changing the settings in the ini didn't work either, does anyone know why?
What is your beard/hair mod?
Great video man. Are you playing on the latest version? 1.6.6? Or 1.5? I just got the latest version, but I'm wondering if i should downgrade
I'm still on 1.5 but rhese mods should work fine on 1.6
Hello, can you tell me what is the mod that produce blood splatter when you hit the enemy? nice vid anyway
what mod are u using for landscapes texture ? looks dope
I have learned that no matter how many mods you add to skyrim, it will forever be as wide as an ocean but as deep as a puddle. Thats why I dont see myself ever playing it again.
I understand this. I don't agree with 100 percent. But I do understand it.
I think that's because mods can only go so far. They are really cool, but the game itself is the limit to how deep they can go.
@@evilpac2327 yeah
@@evilpac2327 I agree, it's also because a lot of mods are "utility" or graphical. There are not enough mods that CHANGE the vanilla experience enough to make it not the vanilla experience. More in depth stories and actually in depth non fetch quests could make the world more "deep" but they are rare and hard to come by. Endereal is one. It's a whole new game inside Skyrim lol.
@@SKYKLFthere are alot of quest mods. Jayserpa, nimwrairh make some good roleplay oriented ones.
Are all of the mods in this video compatible ? or do i have to choose one of this mods ?
I installed Static Skill Leveling Rewritten middle save and it worked well... Until I started a new save. Now can't level up one handed, two handed and Marksman don't know why. All others skills can be upgraded normally. Any idea what's happening? I'm using all the mods of this video plus ordinator
you sound so new zealandian
This may not be to ask but can anyone help a brother out? I’ve followed his mod list and have everything added but several mods are installing without esp. most notably is northern farmhouses. I’ve tried reinstalling and moving things around but I can’t get the esps to appear. Any ideas?
What is the armor you were in the begining of the video?
Viking Armor Collection
Hello, Great list! but i cant for the life of me make "static leveling rewritten" work, i mean it almost does but im stuck with the bug in wich your skill levels dont change after you allocate the skillpoints. Ive seen its a common issue with this mod but no one has a clear soliution, not even the author. Any help would be appreciated.
Have you found a fix for experience? its not working with a new update and i can not use it unfortunately..
What is your nordic dungeon texture mod?
What's the mod that changes perk tree's background?
So if you remove skill gain exp what do you do to Standing stones?
what is the amour you are wearing can you tell what mod is this?
Is there a mod on the Xbox version that is similar to the Experience mod?
Hey, is there a Mod that sets all your Skill to lvl 1 at the start?
