Saw then in Weston Super Mare a couple of years age cried all the way through with laughter they ar disgustingly brilliant hope to see them again some day.
And they still proffer the lie that wages will go up only if worker improve their productivity - wish they in reality do, but still don't get paid more, ^oo^
I love you ladies so much! I have been listening to the series of clips on RUclips all week whilst at work. It has kept a smile on my face. I have, however, learnt (the hard way) not to sing along to the Dogging song in the office! :-)
@@westaussie9497 I doubt the had much choice, if you say so much as tits in an office these days you get slapped with sexual harassment no matter if you have a book of ornithology on your desk.
Wonder if other countries have anything as intelligently funny as this? Our language is something to be treasured, shame it doesn't seem to be taught in school these days.
So I'm a year 12 student. (VWO 5 in the Netherlands, a bit hard to translate) and we're dealing with 'the market' right now in economics class. I'll explain you just a little bit about the song; 1 They KNEW what they were singing about. They say they don't and it wasn't 100% perfect. But it's not much worse than the explanation of my textbook or the Wikipedia page about the subjects. Explaining more advanced economical subjects in a clear and simple way is most of the time really hard. And I can tell you, if these women didn't understand what they were talking about, they wouldn't be singing like this. If you know the terms, you could follow their explanations. It wasn't gibberish! 2 They talk about a couple of things. These are all 'investment models'. Basically, you know you can invest in stocks, right? Well, there a lot of deals you can make and other things you can do with your money on the stock market. Stocks, bons and options are some examples we had in our textbook that are bit more on the 'easy side'. These women sang about some more complex ones. When people talk about difficult stuff on 'the market', they talk about these deals. It's no more difficult than 'buy a stock low, sell it high, profit'. It's just a more complex construction than that, but the idea is the same; It's all just ways to make money. 3 You can't expect people to follow along with a song like this. This song would be great before and exam, because it goes through everything very quickly, but with enough detail. But when you first introduce people to these concepts, you're obligated to do things more slowly and give people to time to ask questions. I had to stop the song quite often to proces what they talked about and sometimes had to look up some terms. And then I could follow along. And I had a basic understanding of this subject! The audience didn't! I know the goal was to make the un-understandable. But I just want you to know that by the way these women talked about these things, if they had done so more slowly, left room for questions etc. They could have made the audience ACTUALLY understand these things! :D I think that's really, really cool! I was already fan of these three girls, but now I'm even more because they made my economics homework more fun! :D Thanks a lot Fascinating Aida!
The bankers understand the system quite well. They know they will always profit even if they screw the system, indeed they will often make a great deal of money if they position themselves in the right way just before an economic crash. They have access to tools which most people do not, they have cushions for their mistakes most do not, and those performing this song are falling into the common trap of believing they are illuminating the public in regards to the flaws of the system when they are only skimming the surface. If you really want to tackle the financial crooks then you need to start with organizations such as the BIS, the tax havens which launder many billions of drug and other criminal money, and ultimately allow trillions in legitimate money to go untaxed. Whining about issues outside of this is very much like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Oh and we should maybe try to teach the general public about fractional-reserve banking, a process no individual would be allowed to do as it would be considered fraud. For those who do not understand this involves financial institutions lending more than they actually possess. They basically invent money, it's a theoretical number they are owed on a ledger. If everyone decided to demand their money all on the same day (a run on the bank) then it would destroy the system because it would expose the underlying lie which keeps it going. This is why governments support banks when they shut down to prevent a run and yet people still don't seem to ask the important questions when this happens.
in the situation described they'll make a loss IF they sell the instrument/s at that point. They'll continue to make a paper loss until / if the instrument returns to the value they lent it at. What you also have remember is that B pays A to borrow his instruments so if they did make a loss it would be somewhat mitigated. Also short sellers frequently operate on high volume low margin trades so in reality the value of the instrument falling by half is unlikely (although it has been known to happen).

Now in September 2020 the credit crunch of 2008 seems like the good old days
I know right. Sad isn’t it.
Love these ladies so much been following them since the 80s, miss Marilyn Cutts but Liza is equally amazing and she has amazing legs.
And the legs were relevant why?
Just wonderful!
Actually it began with the decoupling of wages from productivity circa 1979, but that's another song, and this is still a fantastic one.
And they still proffer the lie that wages will go up only if worker improve their productivity - wish they in reality do, but still don't get paid more, ^oo^
simple explanation, for simple people.

VERY VERY CLEVER

A song which makes a point, obviously you missed it.
That was a fantastic explanation! I never knew how absolutely disgusting these practices were. Who the bloody hell came up with this fecking nonsense?

Leah Schofield *facepalm* I was correcting your grammar, you need to learn it
oh ok
Leah Schofield I do it all the time
is it just me, but doen't A make a loss through devaluation of shares (not always caused by B, but still a loss)?
