Absolutely love Pam Ayres. Her over pronounced diction is just perfect. I would've love to have seen a collaboration with the late great Victoria Wood. Now that would have been something really special ❤
Such a kind lady. I asked permission to print one of her poems ( Tippy Tappy Feet) in a dog club magazine. She replied in person giving permission and no charge
Good Old Pam. I first saw her on the TV while I was still in the army at Bulford in Wiltshire in 1975/76. I thought she was brilliant then and still do
aderynmawr 😂, just scrolled down & read your conversation with him. I remember watching her on TV when I was a kid with my Mum & Dad rolling about laughing. She’s brilliant & spot on with this poem. I’m 48 now & when I start going on about stuff my wife just shuts me up by telling me I’m turning into my dad 😂. I’ll have to share this video with her. Thanks for putting it on 👍
Oct 20, 2019. I a 78 years old. This is the first time I ever heard of Pam Ayers. A perfect example that no matter how old you are, there is something to learn. She could be on anyone's show, stand up anywhere.
miller forester. AND, without the foul disgusting language they all use, to their shame it’s the women also. Pam Ayers is lovely. Might be inuendo, but it’s the lovely Morecambe and Wise sort.
Have followed and loved Pam Ayres since I was a young teen. Brilliant talent, unique, there will never be another like her sadly. I’ve enjoyed reading her poems and stories to others and laughing our heads off because they’re so funny and so true.
Those of you who have heard the lady before will enjoy the repeat. Those who have never before, will be surprised and pleased, at such brilliant skill.
We in New Zealand Loved our primary teacher reading her child appropriate poems to us in to 80s. Esp " i wish I looked after my teeth" ... First relevant and fun poems we'd ever heard. 😊
That is exactly what I think………if she were, we would all look forward to each important event in the country being celebrated by a brilliant poet. PA doesn’t only write great, amusing, poems. Years ago I heard her reading a poem about how she felt when her son left home….to go to University, I think it was. It was so moving, and so true.
It's not my fault that I know everything. Blame my wife, she insists I have an answer ready for everything, without my answer she is powerless, because she will have nothing to argue about....
Apart from William Shakespeare, Pam Ayres was the furst poet I knew and she was the definately the first I enjoyed. What a great talent she has. In a quiet way I think she is a national treasure. :)
There are some performers that you can never tire of hearing: one of those is Pam Ayres. Have you seen her live? If not, don't delay. A joyous couple of hours awaits you. Farewell, my friend.
Because, by flagging the rhymes, she invites everyone to the party. Pam reminds me of the Goons in some ways: you know what Seagoon or Eccles or Gritpype or Bloodnok will say, because you (listening on the wireless) are invited to be part of the silliness.
Her talent and diction's like a breath of fresh air!!! LOVE her act!!!
Her diction is music to my ears. No “wanna” instead of “want do”, no “twenny” instead of “twenty” etc. etc.
😊
Never gets old.......watching this on the last day of 2019.
Josie Thornton into the early hours of 2020 and I’m the same!!...she’s absolutely marvellous
Josie Thornton want to chat watch this
@@phildono1 Feb 2021!
I have a feeling there are Millions of women that this will resonate with. Bless'em all!
You Brits can be so delightful. Love from Missouri USA. 🌹
That line ‘I often wonder what it must be like to be so strong/ Infallible, articulate, self-confident and wrong’ is pure gold!
😂

Excellent! I've been called Pam Ayres the second by friends, but I am not as good as she is! Absolutely Fabulous!
Such a gentle powerhouse.
Bless her.

So, how many people see themselves in this and are brave enough to admit it? I do.
I MUST make sure my wife never sees this!
Her husband sounds like my kind of man 😁👍
Neil Johnson Neil Johnson now don’t you start - I’ve had enough trouble with Bill Wellington ⤵️😄

Just found this, she is spot on👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I hope you enjoyed Pam Ayres, she is a wee national treasure. She done a lot of TV in the 60s and 70s
miller forester. AND, without the foul disgusting language they all use, to their shame it’s the women also. Pam Ayers is lovely. Might be inuendo, but it’s the lovely Morecambe and Wise sort.
A national treasure
She was always able to put everyday experiences and feelings into poetry- what a talent!
Have followed and loved Pam Ayres since I was a young teen. Brilliant talent, unique, there will never be another like her sadly. I’ve enjoyed reading her poems and stories to others and laughing our heads off because they’re so funny and so true.
No thanks
Great fun and Pam never disapoints. Love her cheeky grin when she comes to the punch line.
This has cheered me up immensely on a sad day

Brilliant!!! There will be many a wife/partner out there shouting "that's just him!!!" A comedic pleasure to hear. Well done Pam!!!
I love her,she make smile and that hard in this day and time
Such an awesome, understated talent. We love you, Pam!
A history lesson of the time ..... its a tribute to her poetic skills that they are remembered as Pam Ayres is herself ....
She still tours i saw her show last year in Oxford.
A Masterpiece. SHE should be the Poet Laureate

I have listened to this many times, over and over again, and it makes me laugh every time brilliant....
Hello 👋 how are you doing?
Apart from William Shakespeare, Pam Ayres was the furst poet I knew and she was the definately the first I enjoyed. What a great talent she has. In a quiet way I think she is a national treasure. :)
I love her poems; have most of her books and been lucky enough to have seen her live more than once. Thank you Pam.
Absolutely brilliant but of course nothing like my husband!
Why is this wonderful lady not a Dame by now, typical that those who deserve it never do!
write to your MP to nominate her
Very clever and funny lady. Great talent. Pete Hutley, Newcastle,Australia
What a talent, there’s only one Pam, the world would be a lesser place without this genius 💋💋💋should be a dame
agree totally
Genius ……….. are you serious . She’s popular with people who don’t read or travel.
Simpleton.
Pam, and this video in particular, should be included on the NHS's prescribed list of remedies ! What a fabulously talented person she is !
Not until your abdominal surgery has fully healed! 😆
Pam Ayres, what a national treasure she is!
Pam is a joy and a treasure! Love her!
What a treasure Pam is!! If only we could bottle her humour: what a tonic that would be!!!!
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
A national treasure ❤
This is homespun wisdom. I am also from her neck of the woods. Love it.
Wonderful. Pam Ayres' words and rhymes are spot on. And I love the accent too.
How is it we can see the rhymes coming and yet they are still hilarious?
Max Boyce does the same thing. Often gets the first laugh before the punchline, and a bigger laugh after. ("Heard it before, have you?")
There are some performers that you can never tire of hearing: one of those is Pam Ayres. Have you seen her live? If not, don't delay. A joyous couple of hours awaits you. Farewell, my friend.
Because Pam is a genius! :o)
Because, by flagging the rhymes, she invites everyone to the party. Pam reminds me of the Goons in some ways: you know what Seagoon or Eccles or Gritpype or Bloodnok will say, because you (listening on the wireless) are invited to be part of the silliness.
Because anticipation is nine tenths of the pleasure.
