If you average 15 points per race and each race is an average of 3 minutes long, that means you'll have to put in 333 hours minimum to get 100,000 points

In theory, if some one plays straight for 17 hrs a day (assuming 7 hrs of sleep) and win every game (at 25 points) it would only take around 10 days to get that number. That has been out for a while now so that number is possible.
that is way too ideal. I assume more like worst case of someone playing 8 hours a day would take about 2 months minimum of averaging 20pts per match. Just think about 99900pts / 20pts/match * 6min/match / 60min/h = 499.5 hrs > 63 days
the point is, hundreds of hours in botw is one thing while mario kart just doesnt have that kind of player retention usually. and I could still be under estimating average points and match+queue time
You're both forgetting something. You don't get NEARLY the max pt value for beating a room of people dozen of thousands of points under you... and you lose TONS of points for losing to people that much lower than you are.
99k VRs are just hacked. This is MarioKart, it's designed AGAINST you being that good.
people have achieved way over 500k points by this point, 100k is more then possible
@@pyrojkl just for reference one of the world record holders for a time trial time has over 1300 hours in the game and several people that play competitive I've seen with over 2000 so people grinding for only 600 to max is not unlikely also the games been out for almost 5 years

@Dirty Pixels yup but we all have our likes and dislikes. I honestly like all tracks in mario kart except baby park. Baby park would maybe be fun if u had the whole game filled with close friends to be in chaos with I guess lol.
@Dirty Pixels yeah definitely. Also Grumble volcano has been an iconic and well known map that everyone would love to play on the Wii. Being made into Mario kart 8 was amazing and looked way nicer and is still one of the most fun tracks of all time. Might be hard for some people though xD

Has all Mario karts in 1 bundle to play every version to the newest any online and that the newest has the remake of them all aswell xD like smash ultimate stuff just including to play the older updates too maybe or mechanics because wii has the most best playtime of em all

assuming 99975 points. YOu start with 1000. If you won every match, and that gave you about 20 points. you would need 98975 points, or 4950 games of first place to get that much

The 99999 VR Player has probably played since day 1. The game has been out for about 4 years now so it's expected there might be a group of 99k VR players. Then again, the game likely has hacks (it's an old game after all) so it could very well be hacked but I think it would be more evident if it were hacks. I did see them leave in the middle of a race at the 14:42 mark so maybe they are legit and don't want to lose unnecessary VR.

Man who has strong career based off of endless hours of 2 interations of mario maker plus side content can't believe someone put a large amount of hours into matio kart and was only nearing 100k points. Why?
Two reasons. 1. He didn't sit down and do the math. (For which I don't really blame him.) The number is so unusually high that at first glance, it seems like it would take an unrealistic amount of time to get. It actually turns out to be more feasible than it first appears, but you wouldn't know that without checking. 2. Mario Maker has an *absolutely absurd* amount of variety. Go watch any two videos and you'll see they are never alike. It's like having a brand new game every time you sit down to play it. While Mario Kart can be made interesting by playing against different people, it's still the same thing over and over and over once you get familiar with the maps and characters. Especially combined with over-estimating how much time investment is required, it seems like anyone would get bored with it before getting there. Especially for someone like Ryu who tends not to be a completionist and can pretty easily let go of something once he gets tired of it.

Yeah, 99k players are legit Ryu. They were around within the first year of the game. They usually are not matched with 4 digit players though so you never see them, unless it's thru a friend inviting them. I have about 40k VC with just under 400 hours total played. So this can be done within about a year of playing.

Ok let's do the math:
it took Ryu about 23 minutes for 8 matches so let's take that as a rough indication of the average time spent per race, including load times and wait times, which gives us 23:8=2.875 minutes
Let's say you can manage to get 20 points per race on average mostly first places and good results otherwise.
then to get 99.000 points you would need 99.000:20= 4950 races to get there.
Which means 4950x2.875=14.231,25 minutes which is 237,1875 hours.
I mean there are plenty of games I've spent more than 250 hours on so, it's pretty reasonable overall. Especially since the game has been out since 2014.

Ryu, on the N64's Rainbow Road, you can use the bumps on the road that the thwomps make to jump and get the boost. Just saying.
If you get 20 pts for winning a race, and you averaged 5 wins per hour, it would take you 1000 hours to reach 100,000 rank.....damn
