How to get Better at Mario Kart: • FULL Beginner Guide | ...
The final wave of the booster course pass just released, with new tracks, new shortcuts, and new characters. This is my first time using Funky Kong, Diddy Kong, Pauline, and Peachette online in worldwides. Playing on the courses Tour Rome Avanti, GCN DK Mountain, Wii Daisy Circuit, Piranha Plant Cove, Tour Madrid Drive, 3DS Rosalina's Ice World, SNES Bowser's Castle 3, and Wii Rainbow Road.
setup:
character: diddy kong
vehicle: biddybuggy / mr scooty
tires: roller / azure roller
glider: paper / cloud
Biddybuggy is indeed used in time trials for the hit box, but because the hit box lets the vehicle to hang off the edge without falling off, allowing for much tighter lines.
Mr. Scooty is used for tracks with walls as the smaller hit box lets you take tighter lines without hitting the walls.
That's all true, though I think the hitbox allowing for easier coin pickups is a factor as well, especially on certain tracks
Makes sense! Now that you mention it, I know that this is the case for inkstriker vs mach 8. Both have max antigravity speed, and mach 8 is used to avoid falling off (N64 rainbow road 200cc), while inkstriker is used to avoid hitting walls (water park 200cc)

@@twhylerm That's true, but it follows that making it easier to grab coins allows you to be more consistent in your runs, and maybe even take slightly more direct coin lines. This is probably why Biddybuggy is so often used over Scooty, even on tracks where hanging off the edge or curb of a track is not possible

A couple days ago I was having a conversation on the phone while I was playing Mario Kart and it was so hard to focus that I kept messing up in the game. So yeah, props to all you guys that play the games very well and talk to us, the viewers, at the same time! Y'all make it look so easy lol
I'd imagine it'll take lots of practice and muscle memory, but even then the situation can change unpredictably and he needs to adapt/respond to it promptly too. Such a marvelous display of skill indeed
Not the same. They just have to talk but dont have to "process" a reply and think of what to asnswer to said reply, which is the main distracting part when actually holding a conversation.
Oh yeah talking to someone is definitely harder than talking to myself, but i also play much better if i say nothing or only talk about my gameplay.

I’ve been using villager girl (same stats as diddy) + biddybuggy since wave 4, I’m so glad more people use this combo now!
My favorite female Villager combo is Cat Cruiser, Azure Roller tires, and Cloud Glider. It's what I used to beat the 150cc staff ghost at Rome. 😄

I’ve used Female Villager with Mr. Scooty and Roller Wheels since launch. Glad to see it get some love
11:43 the CC curse: When you get a certain level of popularity, especially in a game that can have a wide variety of age range in its audience, you are inevitably going to get some people that troll just to interact with their favorite CC. You're still the goat, all these videos, whether they are wacky combos or tryhard optimal racing, are still super entertaining!

I've been learning a lot from your videos! I main light blue Yoshi because my aunt got me a light blue Yoshi plush when I was little so it is my favorite Mario character. I've played Mario Kart since Mario Kart Wii but I never learned any more advanced tech tho so its really cool to see you put that tech into action. I usaully use the yoshi bike with rollers and paper glider but seeing you using outside drift has inspired me to try mr. scooty. Outside drift is still strange to me but I'm getting there. Anyway, can't wait to see your next video!

Diddy Kong is based on spider monkeys, which aren't apes. However, that Diddy was, presumably, being controlled by a human, which is an ape.

-Look what the current world record for any track is and note down the combo they use.
-Invert the combo (so if the wheels had the 2nd highest speed stat, choose wheels with the 2nd lowest speed stat).
-Try and come first place on that track with the inverted (worst) combo for that track. Its kind of like the video you made "Can I win with the worst combo?" but harder.
Also I used this this combo and won 5 times in a row lol
Watching this Disney level monkey plot unfold was one of the most entertaining things I have seen today

Here’s my hot take of the day, red shells work too well and are more fun to play around when you can get them to crack on stuff easier.
Don’t get me wrong, in mkwii it was a bit too easy because sometimes it would literally just crack on nothing, but in this game they are too good and force you to play defensively. You hardly ever get to be offensive about green shells and lay down bananas as traps as a result.
TLDR: Item play is more fun when reds track less and is more skill based as well.

I liked how they where on double dash. You could actually dodge them in turns sometimes because right before impact they would slow down to then become a green shell without bounces

If I had to be honest my favourite combo/my is Larry scooty (Larry, mr scooty, rollers, waddle wing) first of all it was a small hit box so its Easier to not get Mario karted and the waddle wing adds some speed while Larry, mr scooty and the rollers keep the mini turbo stat high and it’s just cute the rollers really sell the idea that it’s a scooter and snaking is very viable with this combo.
I mainly play with a vehicle build with a sport bike body, crimson slim tires, and a gold glider.
As for who I play as, it’s usually Toad, Lakitu, or my Mii.

Welp today I realized different karts sound different. I genuinely never noticed that, and I have played this game a lot.
6:40 Calling it now, that person was secretly someone who scored over 99999 and so much higher than that that the game integer overflowed and displays a 1 instead
I'm new to Mario Kart. This is my first week playing it at home. So far, this is my favorite MK channel. I have always avoided meta/OP vehicles in other games, so rather than going to (yawn) Yoshi and Teddy, I was using Birdo and Streetle and doing very well with them; however from this video, I gave some attention to Diddy Kong and the Biddybuggy. While I stayed with the Streetle, I'm really happy with the change to Diddy Kong. Drifting brings a whole new dimension in fun play, and this combination ensures more of that fun while retaining a little bit of speed that I might not get with Biddybuggy.
The sound design of the karts is something my brain never even registered.
genuine question: why do you hold a coin instead of taking the double item set? like for example at 15:25 you could've used the coin and taken the double item set with a chance of getting better items?

I'm so glad I found this channel, it helped my so much to improve in mario kart and I learned so much. I thought mario kart it was a simple racing game but it has a lot of tactics, but now I've become adicted to try them, thx so much.

I never play online since I don't have Nintendo Online anymore and my internet poops out randomly for races to feel good, but when the latest wave came out I swapped from Waluigi Biddybuggy to Diddy Mr. Scooty day 1 because I thought "haha, funny monkey." I fell in love with it and now use it as my main get up, it actually plays so nicely!
One thing I wish the dlc gave us is more diverse kart parts, because it got old watching everyone use the rollers. Where are my square wheels nintendo!!!!

There is a voice chat for Mario Kart on the Switch. It requires downloading the Nintendo Switch Online app on your smartphone though. I don't know why, I just know the function is there.

they're used for their mini turbo stat, not for acceleration. Acceleration just happens to come with miniturbo

My current main is: Daisy, comet bike, sponge/GLA tires, and paper glider.
I know it’s not great, but I’m holding out hoping the next game making inside drift not completely terrible.
Also, I run sponge/GLA over roller b/c for some reason they give you more control while drifting and they let you take corners sharper. Still can't decide if I like sponge or GLA better...
i personally don’t think they will ever change inside drift because balance issues it either is broken op or worse..maybe they could fix the drift camera angle, but the hop trade off w better drift angles just is so different playwise it seems pretty difficult..
@@wc1472_ Honestly, it's more a problem with the track design; there are just so many shortcuts (particularly shroomless) that I simply can't do b/c of angles...
What I'd love to see is them bringing back Wii style inside draft, but then give buffs to outside drift, like bringing back fire hopping or something.

(11:00) As much as I hate to disappoint, I not only lack DLC for diddy (that money got spent to enable online multiplayer), but I main comet which is an inside drift bike-Lawd forbid I copy your loadout, I think they'd revoke my license lol.
That said, I always keep an eye out for ya, and If ya see a dry bones on an orange bike with metal wheels behind ya then just know I've for your back... until I pass ya lol.

Not sure if you’ve done this but this could be a series/video idea: survival challenge(online). The goal is to have the least amount of characters eliminated by the end of the challenge. You lose a race that character is eliminated. You win a race that character stays alive and you move on to the next character. Thought it would be a fun series!

I almost always get bottom half in races, though.
8:17 it does have a voice chat! you need the nintendo switch app on your phone for this, the other players too and then there is a voice chat option :)

The name of the 300 vr player means “Mario kart free trial version”.
What's funny is the fact that Teddy Buggy is no longer the most optimal vehicle frame after the wave 6 changes. Cat Cruiser has the exact same stats (at least as far as using Yoshi is concerned), except for the invincibility stat, because Teddy Buggy got nerfed in only that stat. So Cat Cruiser is now the most min-maxed vehicle frame in terms of stats.
It does have a bigger hitbox by quite a way though.
Supposedly the Teddy Buggy is still considered the best because of the way ATV's drift, but I don't know the specifics.
