Thanks for not putting sugar in those wonderful grits! Salt, pepper, butter and more butter! (or a little red- eye gravy) I've noticed in your videos that you are not "Goldielocks" riders...Riders waiting for perfect temperature, no chance of rain or getting the bike dirty. Wife and I have been riding together 49 years, and we found out long ago that you won't get to ride much if you're waiting on that perfect day! Just have to gear up and "suck it up buttercup". Thanks for taking me along!
Made it as far as Hatteras Light in 2018. We were staying in Duck. We are looking at another OBX vacation in 2022. The Spyder gets through water well, but not so much in mud as I found out this weekend in MD at Wicomico Motorsports Park. I was attending the SXCS races there on Saturday. Looks like you are having a good trip.
My Cousin Vinny! Our favorite movie! UPDATE: I just arrived in Alabama for an emergency work trip. Too Funny! I will have to make sure I don't get any mud in my tire!
hwy 12 through rodanthne has always done that since i was a kid i am almost 65 orgen inlet used to be a ferry ride bud too much money no sense hurricane way back cut that inlet
I really enjoyed the virtual ride along. Breakfast at Grits Grill is a favorite spot for us. Really plentiful servings and good food. Our beach house is in the Cove just north of there. Liz worked at the hospital next door when it first opened until we hit the road. We love the rides we take there and make trips to Hatteras each time we're there. We haven't taken the Spyder on Ferry to Ocracoke but plan to on our spring trip back to the coast. Keep on enjoyed the adventure and know we love to share them. Thanks
Beautiful ride, thank you for not showing us the 2+ hr delay 😳🥺🤣 waiting for the ferry haha. This was another enjoyable good morning video to watch with my good morning cofffee 😁👍👍
This one definitely brings back memories of summer family vacations in Nags Head. Enjoying the beach and surf all day and then going out for fresh seafood for dinner and maybe a round of putt putt LOL Thanks for another fun video and the trip down memory lane. Oh BTW, Nancy is a big fan of a cosmopolitan! 😉
It is my favorite place in the whole wide world and we did get to see a lot of beautiful stuff in North Carolina but I did not get to go exactly down there but that will be next time. What is your favorite song I couldn't tell if it was playing? And also is it just a regular James Bond martini you guys drink or is it something more fun and fruity?
Too much good music to have one favorite,, A Martini is Gin and dry vermouth, ) Change anything and it stops being a Martini. . -Alton Brown of Good Eats.
Hey John, have you ever experience hydro-planing on the Spyder? Here in Newfoundland parts of our hwy have ruts from all the transport trucks which when it rains they fill with water. Then of course riding our Spyder we have three lines and it's impossible to avoid them. I've hydro-planed three times now and it scared us enough to think about putting it up for sale. I've been riding 2 wheel motorcycles for 40yrs and only had the Spyder for 3yrs. We have new tires all around.
Wow,,, No, and we have lots of rain miles. The only time that came close is in standing water and (did not see it until it was too late) it was for a short distance.
Thank you for sharing. Never been but it looks like a great place to go. The food looks delicious. Enjoy!
Grits is an acquired taste and one this Canadian has not made 😎
So true…we all define comfort food differently!
great video ,
That bread pudding with the whiskey glaze sounds amazing.
It was really great made with apples and bananas too (unusual). It’s bread pudding season-yeah!

You can't go wrong with a stone ground natural grits with butter and cheese. Spiders do hydroplane so slow down in the water.
