I appreciate all your information. You’ve confirmed all my complaints. For the price of a Spyder Rt Limited this system REALLY sucks! The most disappointing part of the bike. Finally they have Apple Car Play on the 2024. A few years too late BRP 🤬
I have a 2018 RTL. I gave up on BRP connect after about 6 months. It just easier to use my iPhone for music and my TomTom 550 Rider for a gps. Great tutorial.
Thx. I would say the general consensus would agree. A half of 7.8 inch screen that far away is difficult to see. Since BRP Go has come out, this video is still useful to see all the screens but hopefully BRP adds back some of the lost functionality when they replaced Connect with Go.
Thanks for doing your best to explain a very NOT user-friendly system. And to anyone who reads this, don't kill the messenger! I know there are a lot of problems with BRP - he did not invent it he is just trying to explain it so remember that if you want to vent.
Thx. I am hopeful that the pending BRP updates will solve the reliability issues. For me, it’s much easier to use Cardo voice command and the iPhone and forget the dash. I prefer to see the rpm anyway.
@@DFWMoose I have seen so many of these videos that turns into everyone going off on BRP instead of appreciating someone trying to make sense of it. Unfortunately I use my phone, when the on screen maps was one of my original attractions. Where did you hear about the new update? I hope you are right.
BRP/CanAm the Honda Goldwing navigation and sound system certainly is much easier to use and performs well on my 2012 and 2018. Either my ignorance and lack of experience isn’t helping me operate the new F3T system. Hoping for divine inspiration coming soon. Happy travels to all.
BRP is promising an update this summer. Just in time for iOS 16? This video is the current app interface I’ll update when BRP does. BRP Go App Tutorial to BRP Connect (the dash) on a Spyder. ruclips.net/video/B8BtEtqRRGY/видео.html Thx for watching
Thank you. This video was helpful. It's not just a brp issue. I'm coming from an Indian Roadmaster & their music controls don't work on headsets (volume, tone...). Their nav & touch screen was good. I'm getting a '22 RT and I'm getting a Zumo. I like Garman units. Wish it was integrated but no bike is perfect.
Glad you found it helpful. It’s the only one I’ve seen to use Picture in Picture. I too like Garmin but it maybe a waste of money as your cellphone will pickup gps without cellular service. Download a program called GPSDIAGNOSTIC and see how many satellites you get. But if you are going to travel off the beaten path then you would need offline maps as Apple Maps or Google requires cellular connection in most cases.
Thanks, but I don’t need BRP Connect. I have been ridding for over 40 years and I’m not learning a new system just to ride and enjoy my self. 👍🏻 to you for your effort.
You and I both have similar experiences when it comes to BRP connect. On my ride on the Blue Ridge Mountain Parkway I continued to just use my iPhone connection. That said, I’m still going to play with trying to get BRP connect to work a bit better. I have the Cardo pack talk bold as well.
It’s too small that’s for sure but since I did that video they changed to BRP Go which is in some eyes even worse. I have BR paired only to the dash and either use my phone or Garmin Zumo for Nav.
I haven’t tried using the BRP GO GPS yet. You’re right about the small GOS display. They should have programmed it to cover the entire screen with speed and fuel level within the GPS.
@@greggarmin9426 that would help. I think that trying to use the same dash on skidoo’s and snowmobile’s was a poor choice. Their 4 Wheels use a unique dash dedicated to off-road. They advertise it as 7.8 inches yet only 1/2 is GPS, too small.
Do you have some sort of 3.5mm plug connected to the bike’s 3.5mm cable? That’s the only thing I can think of unless you’re accidentally hitting the Aux button above the tank.
I have an android phone same issue. Everything you are saying here l though it was. me. One map is ask 60.00 the other one is like 40.00 I don't mind paying for a service but not if I can't do anything with it BRP program I feel is incomplete. I have a senta 50S The Bluetooth from the helmet to the phone works. The phone to BRP works. The helmet to BRP Bluetooth is not Connecting . I have a 2021 RT limited Just bought a month ago but I Only have About 30 miles. Trying to get everything together. I stopped at Kelly's auto parts and bought the Mcguire's cermatic wax and cermatic detailer I got tired of RUclips I couldn't make up my mind on them. And then all the snake oil started coming out. At least mcguire's Has been around for over a 100 years. I tried it on my old helmet 1st. It came on pretty good. Then I took a leap and I decided to do the trunk on a spider . OK now I'm impressed. I'm using this so I don't have to keep waxing. And see if it protects it from getting scratched up. I noticed right away that all the black panels were super slick . I've been riding my bike around town to get used to it to get familiar with it. The last bike I had was a gold wing 1500 which I've had for 26 years. So this is a brand new animal for me to test out on my retirement.
I’ve abandoned BRP Connect for now. Waiting on the update announced on 8/28 as coming in a few weeks. So use my Cardo Packtalk bold in conjunction with the phone for music and GPS, no issues. It works flawlessly. If BRP Connect worked as smoothly I would use it but it doesn’t. Welcome to three wheels. Meguires is a good wax. I found the Turtle Wax Ceramic to work for me but I have used mequires very similar.
The plus of using Genius maps is that if the cellular single is low then the map is still displayed. But you should be able to use Google maps as the phone Android or Apple have a stand alone gps signal. It’s enhanced by cellular but NOT required.
Get sena 10s or sena spyder st1 and I phone all hands free turn it on speak into mic does what u tell it CarPlay or navigatetion much simpler canam radio way to confusing and has no power distorted u can blue tooth to bike also radio is junk but for 30gs wtf
No but some things behave differently when running versus just key on. Generally it’s in the music control but generally I control my music via Siri commands. The headlights go out after thirty seconds or so when the bike isn’t running so it’s similar to a car in Accessories mode. Prevents draining the battery.
No but any of the GPS apps do. You can use genius maps which I prefer as it’s a one time fee and unlimited maps. Rever and Sygic have recurring fees. There is NO connection like a CarPlay or Android Play. I’d suggest you download the app and you’ll be able to quickly determine what’s included or free and what’s not. You may prefer to use Google or Apple Maps directly from your phone. The only negative is if you were to lose GPS signals but since 2017 the iPhone and most Androids have separate GPS receivers.
