  • Enjoying a rainy rYde on my Can-Am SpYder F3-S. Around the 5:21 elapsed Time of the Video, I spot two other riders huddled together and taking cover under the I-95 Overpass. I just waved to them as I passed by! I enjoy rYding in the Rain, whether I'm on two or three Wheels, especially if it's hot and humid outside...I especially like the cooling effect from being air-dried once it stops Raining. Refreshing!

    Nice video of ridding in the rain. I have been a motorbike ridder my whole life. Been thinking about one of these Spyder’s, however the Dealers don’t want to budge off MSRP! I won’t pay list. Starting to look at low mileage used.

      Yeah, they're great for Riding in inclement Weather, and for Travelling...and an absolute MUST if you ever carry a Passenger. I also have a "traditional" Motorcycle as well, and both have their own positive and negative attributes.

      francis brown LOL, it is a rather odd Sound, and not exactly a pleasant one. It's a full custom Exhaust including a Cat delete, and since the Engine is a rather odd inline triple 3 Cylinder it just produces a unique exhaust note.

    Hey man, this video upload is approx 4-5 year old.
    I have a few question for you if you don't mind. Do you STILL ride the F-3? if no, why not? what happened?
    What kind of maintenance does it require and approx how much do you say it cost?
    Also what kinds of issues/problem that you have faced, I only ask these is because I want to get one to, and i want to learn from other Sypder F-3 owners.
    thank you

      I no longer own the Spyder F3-S. I usually don't keep any Vehicle for very long, just because I want to experience them all! LOL. As far as Maintenance, it's really no different than anything else. The entire Time I owned it, it was still under the Factory Warranty. I did perform my own Oil Changes, and I upgraded the Brake Pads to a higher Performance Compound, and I had a Custom Made Exhaust installed on it. The only issues I had was I had a Brake Light Bulb burn out the Day after I Bought it, and then later on I had an issue where it went into "Limp Mode" when I was over 100 Miles from Home, but after a few re-starts the issue seemingly resolved itself and I made it Home Safely. I'm not sure if you're asking about how much Maintenance Cost, or how much the Spyder itself Cost. Maintenance? Again, no difference than anything else. Cost of the Spyder? I Bought it new, and it had several Accessories on it when I Bought it (Wheels, Windscreen, Stripe Kit, etc) and I Paid right around $25k for it. It was a great Ride, awesome for Touring and being able to carry Luggage, and also great (and Safe) for Riding 2 up, great for Riding in Inclement Weather also...I Rode it Purposely during a Hurricane! Unlike a 2 Wheeled Motorcycle, you'll never "Lay it down", and you never have to put your Feet Down when you come to a Stop, you never have to worry about Balancing it, you never have to worry about trying to pick it up if it falls over, because it's not going to fall over! It was a great Ride, it was just Time for me to move on and get something else. I hope my response helps. Take care, and thanks for Watching.

      @@g-forcejax9256 dude, thank you so much for sharing this. it's Valuable to me, it helps me learn what to expect if and when I buy a spyder. The only thing that stood out was the Limp mode, but as you stated that also corrected it self after a few trys.
      Cheer, enjoy the weekend

    Hey love your video I've noticed you run in the rain more than anyone else that I know what do you use for your helmet visor to keep the rain off

      The Helmet I'm wearing in this Video is made by "Speed and Strength" and it's the SS1600 Model, there is no Visor. www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/speed-and-strength-ss1600-cruise-missile-helmet

    What is that red button on your left handlebar? Got me puzzled.

    • @g-forcejax9256
      @g-forcejax9256  7 лет назад

      It's not actually a Button, and is no longer there actually. What you're seeing is a metal plate that I once had affixed to the Clutch Master Cylinder lid, and I had a round Magnet stuck on the metal plate. On one side of the magnet I had a piece of 3M double-sided Tape on it...the red that you see is actually the liner for the other sticky side of the Tape. My video camera's all have a magnetic base to them, and sometimes I would place one of my camera's there. The Magnet was just stuck there, as I also used that metal plate as a place to keep a spare magnet.

    Spyders totally laugh at the rain, two wheelers are too high risk in heavy rain anyway, hit some oil on the street and you will most likely lose it, and find yourself sliding down the street, thats why I ride one too.

    How to make a spyder even safer? add a bunch of flashing rainbow LED's, they will see you (and be pissed at you) from a mile away, at least in the dark and night.

    • @g-forcejax9256
      @g-forcejax9256  7 лет назад

      And Drivers will still look right at me and still turn in front of me! My LED's are positioned so that none of them are forward facing, and cast their light towards the ground or towards the Bike itself, so as not to cause anyone's vision to be affected.
