I used to live in Long Beach. I moved about a month ago out to AZ. Im here scrolling through memory lane regretting the time I spent back home. What I would do to go back…
Back in 1984, spent about 10 months living out that way. Spent a lot of time fishing Newport pier, Huntington pier, and the pier just south of Laguna. The misspent days of my youth. Good times, thanks for the ride along.

Thank you for this! My yearly trip to California was canceled due to the current situation. I need this in my life - I’ll be back hopefully in the Fall or Winter of next year.
Gorgeous day for the sights and sounds of an enjoyable drive! Though the end of your drive is beautiful, the beach barricades bring one back to today’s reality. All my best to you.
Currently on a lockdown in Scotland due to COVID-19 and haven’t really enjoyed the outdoors or any socialising for sometime now. This video has went down and absolute treat. Thank you so much. Stay safe.
What a difference a year makes! Just got back from visiting and the drive from Huntington Beach to Laguna Beach took an hour because of the traffic! Still totally enjoyed it.
If you do the drive early on a Sunday morning it can still look like this. For you non-Southern Californians, this is a major commuting route and alternative to the San Diego Freeway for its entire length in LA and Orange Counties from Malibu to San Onofre and Camp Pendleton. Really even from Ventura in the north to Malibu in the south too.
I perform this commute to the yearly Pageant of the Masters for the last 18 years. Each year it was as though I was travelling this route for the first time. And I've enjoyed every minute of it. Clearly I am no stranger to Route 1, PCH. My daughter and I have had dinner at Duke's in Huntington Beach a few times to reminisce of our adventures in Oahu, HA. Thanks for the view!
Enjoy the start of the drive through the city I grew up in and love. I lived and worked right there at the Burger King area for over a decade and enjoyed every minute.
I missed Buena Park, CA. I live in Dayton, Ohio, huge difference. Too bad Southern California is so expensive. Thank you for the lovely tour brings tears to my eyes. ❤ i will always love this great State for there's no other. ❤
I have lived most of my life on this beautiful stretch of Pacific Coast Highway from Newport Beach in the 1970 on the Peninsula to1984 worked in Fashion Island. Surf the waves in Huntington Beach the mid 90s now live in Long Beach. Great moments and memories from this video. Thank you!
considering this is a highway it looks very calm, i know its obviously a more scenic highway, but still i would have expected the usually highway aggression and such, but it looks like a chill ass ride, can't wait for the borders to reopen so i can come visit from canada.
It is beautiful to drive Pacific Coast Highway which was I use to so I could go up north to visit family. But I live in Georgia now and I love it here !
Saludos desde Argentina , para el próximo año mi meta es poder trabajar en en los Estados Unidos , un país de ejemplo a seguir, mis respetos para ustedes 🙌
Starts at the Long Beach traffic circle. I used to work just a short way up Lakewood Blvd. at the former McDonnell Douglas aircraft manufacturing plant. The area west of the traffic circle, which you didn't cover, used to be a fairly gritty urban area with lots of prostitution and gang members. It seems to have cleaned up now. The route along PCH you proceeded on is still a fairly gritty urban area, though you can't tell it from your shots. Most of PCH is pretty nice. I grew up a few blocks east of where it runs through Redondo Beach. The area between Western Ave. in Harbor City running east past the Harbor Freeway to just a bit east of the Long Beach traffic circle is the only really sketchy part of the whole route. The rest is fine, ranging between merely urban to occasionally beautiful. Thanks!
Albert Myers - There used to be a restaurant on the left called The Hawaiian. It had real tiki torches, a literal forest of palm trees and everyone's notion of Hawaiian music. My parents would take us there for special occasions, like a Saturday or Sunday night. It's probably no longer there. I first tasted Oysters Florentine there.
I used to live near Huntington Beach and that brought back a lot of fond memories, although HB is more built up than years ago. I still remember all of the streets, Golden West, Beach Blvd, seems like yesterday. And the weather is ideal like usual.
@@WindWalkTravelVideos I just heard a loud muscle car two MC's go by and it wasn't that loud. I guess it just you microphone settings. I'm guessing it's some kind of 4 cylinder econobox your driving.
the shopping center (on the right) at 7:30 is brand new (for those who are not local)
8:07 ... entering Seal Beach, CA :)
9:49 leaving seal beach; ironically also an area code of the Orange County area (which you're also in)
11:00 ... the chill laid back Sunset Beach :) - really love PCH
14:15 .. about to roll into the beautiful Huntington Beach .... one of my favorite places here in so cal

I just visited Southern California for the first time, and I envy you the beautiful place you live in.

I noticed that many cars stop at a great distance, is that normal or does it have a specific reason?
🤫
Honda recommended. Otherwise water pumps and wheel bearings and leaking fuel creating a fire usually occurs.
I miss Java Lanes!! Rad bands there!!

Thank you for this beautiful video of this beautiful place. I dream to live and work there as a dentist. I am sick of living in Germany.

Great move going south from where you started because if you would have gone north on PCH you wouldn't have so many good comments.

How fast are you driving through the Long Beach area?
It sort of feels like you are going fast sometimes. Speeding a little bit?
