Tommy's voice is incredible, but the way the two acoustic guitars pull together and feel like an entire ensemble is great. This performance never get's old, picking out little details every time I listen to it. I'll be coming back for years still.
I know I can't be the only one who absolutely loves DMA's version of Believe! (more than Cher's version lol). I came across these guys on the internet during covid lockdown & I've been a fan ever since! I wish nothing but the best for DMA's! Cheers from a fan in the USA!!
The countdown sent me down the rabbit hole rewatching all the best ones and catching ones I've missed this and sofi tukkers chasing cars are actually 2 of my favourite songs ever.. coming from a metal core & hip hop & punk rock/rock fan for most of my music
Dud, how can this guy have this fucking vocal power without even showing the least bit of effort and still chewing a gum. Wow, congrats guys, pretty sweet shit
Les Weston I listened to this for the first time 4 days ago and something drags me back to listen to it every day since. Most amazing vocals. Cher probably made millions off the song which is crap in comparison to this version.
DMA's look like they've just finished painting a piece at Macquarie Fields Train Station and are about to score a bag of shard on tick off their mate EskiOner down at East Hills for a big night ahead at an underground rave out in St. Mary's. But, like most dealers, EskiOner inconveniently wasn't at home and told them to wait a few hours until he got back... So, with a bit of time to kill and growing bored of the amount of Aussie hip-hop and Gabber on their stolen iPhone playlists, they decided to pop in to an Erskinevill music shop, rack a couple of guitars and head up to the JJJ studios to staunch Richard Kingsmill in to allowing them to record an amazing version of Cher's 'Believe'. Matt and Alex were rolled immediately afterwards... But, no one cared, because of how insanely talented the DMA's crew proved themselves to be.
MrBladezt Oh this is fucking classic, you're right on brother. They went on to have a fuckin clanger of a night waking up the next afternoon with no memory of their soulful rendition recorded on a national radio station until their neighbour Gavin (who still owes Matt half a pack of durries) played it loud on his Nan's stereo.
this is absolutely perfect from the way they're dressed the way his upper lip curls in as he sings The Chewy sitting idley in his mouth his voice just lord it's a tie between this and just a gents like a version
I must've watched this 1000 times by now. Seen them perform it live twice in the past month as well and it's never anything less than stunning. Unbelievable band!
such a shame when they were at their peak 2017-2021 they never played believe live, they still have some good newer tunes but have stagnated in popularity in the UK. For example Radio X never ever play them, not a loss perhaps but for the genre of music not being on the biggest radio and media resource for indie bands in the main country of their popularity is a big loss they need to correct i think
Best proper "like a version" in a long time. A lot of them just play the song the same without changing it up. This was completely different! Love his voice! Absolutely hooked!!!

I am guilty of being a middle age man that has lost his way, I’ve spent so many years just spotifying and going to concert gigs I’ve lost all connection with good local live music, for shame on me. But somehow found this and has started my love for the J’s again, After this COVID shite I feel like the live music seen in Melbourne is going to explode again like it was in the 80’s.
The intro sound played at the start of every single 'like a version' film clip is more violent than a dyson airblade in an airport with a hangover... None the less, excellent tune
I've listened to this 100 times. I wake up and fall asleep with it stuck in my head. His persona, chewing gum like Barbra Streisand used to do while recording, the position of his arms and hands is odd and seems to show a vulnerability. I've listened to some of their original stuff. Very cool.
My god, his vocals are tremendously beautiful. This version is so raw and earthy, deserving of Triple J''s #1 Like A Version, Even whilst he's chewing gum... He's a gifted vocalist.
yep I put like 70 bucks on this to win. Defo #1 like a version. I know it's crude and shit that Oz betting company's are exploiting even JJJ . I took advantage.

Joshua Robbins Right on! It's almost comical how that voice comes out of that guy!
Mac demarco is another good example, he records on tape like the old days and plays beat up guitars, most rugged guy but his music is amazing
To be fair, that is a Burberry shirt.

Hi Dylan, is there going to be a Recovery reunion?
