Every entertainer from Elvis Presley through to Michael Jackson, Elton John, Barbra Streisand and even Lady Gaga owe it all to this man! He was first and the greatest showman the world will ever know. His generosity towards others less fortunate than himself knew no bounds. He gave of himself right up until the very end when there was no more to give. God bless his eternal soul!

There was only ONE Liberace, ever.
We don't have a Liberace in our world of today.
The world is very lacking today, we do not know what we are missing
Amongst a few other legends who have gone on, Liberace is one of those missing from today, sadly.

With a few exceptions, there is no talent like this today. Thanks for all your great posts over the years. You lift the spirits of many people who knew and remember liberace.

@Mike McDaniels Don't quite know how to explain it but the video you linked to.... Well, she's "playing" the piano and doing all the right notes but I don't "feel" anything from her playing, where as with Liberace I get a feeling deep in my core of somebody truly loving what they're playing. As I said, I'm not sure how to properly explain that feeling.

He was an amazing performer. My father had played for him several times under contract. The thing that most puzzles me is that all the piano greats of his time were jealous because he could play just as well as any of them. His sense of interpretations were immaculate. He was an artist and all artist even his critics are blessed for they have given music to the world for our enjoyment. God bless all those who contribute to this wonderful place.

Irine said one time that Lee would be a better showman than doing boring concerts as like Oscar Lavant. She was very correct in her thinking. Mom said one time, that Lee would give the shirt off his back if it would keep that person warm. She always laughed at that notion. These are just some of the stories i heard throughout the years about Liberace, but I can truthfully say, when he motioned me to come to the piano and play chop sticks with him, was a thrill and watched him on TV was a delight

It's amazing to have friends that would give Lee such extravegant gifts as some of his fabulous jewelry that would surely be worth in the Millions today. I had met Lee at the age of 5 at a Gin joint called the Escape in N Milwaukee. The owner named Skip Berg and his wife Irine knew Lee very well. Irine and Lee graduated from the Milwaukee Conservotary of Music, in which my great Uncle Herb Stothard (head of the musical dept at MGM) and professor at the MCM taught Lee as his instructor. Back in the early 50's when Lee would come to town, he stop at the Escape and if dad was there (he was an MD) and Skip a patient, would borrow dad's candy apple

Mom always had a feeling that Lee was gay but never discuused it out loud when Lee was either at the bar or playing the ivories.
