Lady Eileen Hudson TBM rebuild is nearing completion at Snowy 2.0!
Over the past six months the Snowy 2.0 project team has been meticulously planning and coordinating the reassembly of the Lady Eileen Hudson Tunnel Boring Machine (TMB) at the Talbingo work front and she’s almost ready to begin excavating the 5.8km tailrace tunnel.
Last September, TBM Lady Eileen completed the 2.85km main access tunnel at Lobs Hole, where she was then disassembled and transported to Talbingo to be reassembled. Several new components have replaced the original sections of the TBM, including a new cutterhead, front and middle shields, and main drive, a massive task for all involved. Great work team!
