  • 🏗️ Milestone Lift!
Both of the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) cutterheads have been successfully lowered into place at the North East Link Project in Melbourne!
Each of these massive cutterheads weighs over 400 tonnes. The team employed the skills of a hefty 550-tonne gantry crane to lower them into the launch box.
Once commissioned, the TBMs will embark on their 6.6km journey to Manningham. Stay tuned for more updates as we make progress!
Webuild, as part of the Spark Consortium is delivering the North East Link tunnels for the Victorian government. The project will enable a more sustainable future by taking 15,000 trucks off local roads every day and reducing travel times by up to 35 minutes for commuters. Once complete, it will be the longest road tunnel in Victoria.
