2018 was a insane year for Kanye. Executive producer for 3 albums and was even working on a fourth one before he scrapped it. Hope you react to Ye which is the only other one you haven’t reacted to from this trilogy of albums he produced in 2018.
The story about the production on this album is pretty cool. Kanye heard the whole album and said “I can produce this better” and re-did all of the beats apparently.
Can honestly relate to how you felt with IYKYK, it's one of my favorite rap songs of all time. The beat is infectious and Push has so many quotable lines with fantastic delivery. Really loved your analysis on certain songs here, probably my favorite reaction from you so far! I think Pusha T has a lot of other good work too like My Name is My Name and King Push's Prelude, but Daytona is for sure his peak.
Hope you go back and finish Kanye’s discography. I think it’s some of the most important work in hip hop. You can even track his mental health waning from tlop on.
i would honestly love seeing kanye albums reactions in chronological order, i think you will definitely understand why he is considered to have the best discography in hip hop along with kendrick
The community cards are really cool :) Can't wait to see what album you pick up next. Not saying it should be the new Peggy but it should be the new Peggy
This is one of the albums I can come back to frequently. I started listening to Push after “Good Music Cruel Summer” which was a HUGE collaboration album of such amazing rappers at the time. Kanye had Big Sean, Travis Scott, Cudi, Chief Keef, Ma$e, GhostfaceKilla, and more, just rap on great tracks. Highly recommend giving it a listen. It’s a 2011 compilation from Def Jam.
No matter what anyone says about him/what crazy stupid stuff he does, Kanye is a Legend in Hiphop and is one of the most influential artists in the Genre. And even though I understand you not wanting to listen to him, not covering his first albums would be casting away a huge chunk of Rap history imo Also Push and Kanye together is always magic🔥
I love pusha-T, he just is straightforward and simple but delivers really well in my opinion. Also path i recommend listening to the RTJ4; if you dont want to listen to the entire album i really recommend pulling the pin. Mavis Staples gives an absolutely haunting but stellar vocal performance on that track
Another classic from pusha t is his album Hell Hath No Fury when he was working with his brother malice in a group called clipse and was produced by The Neptunes (Pharell and Chad Hugo)
If you like this, and his story-telling and 'energy' with which he raps, his latest album "It's almost dry" is filled to the brim with it and ends off with such an angelic and dark track with brother and former duo partner, (No)Malice!
love that you reacted to this, this is definitely one of my favourite hip hop albums of recent memory. helped me get much deeper into the genre w stuff like clipse
So glad you're listening to Pusha ‼️ One of the greatest to ever do it for, had the opportunity to see him live and he has top 5 Aura of all time as well ‼️💯
Path! I reckon you should check out the 1984 film "Scarface" if you've never seen it before. the amount of influence it has upon hiphop culture and Bars over the decades cannot be overstated, Being mentioned by greats such as Hov, Nas, Pusha, and Future just to name a few.
The moment you realized Kanye produced it was hilarious, I get not wanting to listen to his stuff (Even I didn't listen to Vultures 2) but you should listen to his old stuff, it's pivotal for not only the rap genre, also for music in general
i would love to hear your reaction to Graduation, 808s and Heartbreak and/or My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy by Kanye West. One of the greatest 3 album run.
i havent heard much from pusha but ive always seen his as like, more intimidating than other artists partially because of adidon, i feel like you can *hear* that hes talking with purpose
love this album so much, felt like a classic the second it came out. every time I come back to it I'm shocked it's only 21 minutes long. the production on this album is insane and push is so smooth. don't think it would be a path reacts album but darkest before dawn is what got me into him and has a couple of my favorite songs of his. also I like how you kept your laugh in at 5:28 lol
Honestly one of my favorite rap albums from the decade, even though it'sso short. Minimalistic production that still hits incredibly hard and pusha T being as charismatic as ever. Love your vids! Would be very interesting to see you react to Tool's 10,000 days, I think you would like it.
I fucking love push. Favorite rapper ever. Glad you enjoyed Can’t stress enough how great his work is on the Clipse albums, Hell Hath No Fury is my favorite rap album of all time
Yes! Daytona is such a great album, and one I still regularly listen. Now you have no excuse not to record a Hell Hath No Fury reaction haha. Pusha and No Malice (his brother) killing it over Neptunes production, classic.
Can’t get over how good your video structure is! PS I would be happy to hear you react to any other Radiohead album if you haven’t listened to them yet.
You'll probably like "It's Almost Dry" as well. Push is a unique artist for sure, I feel like he very strongly bridges the gap between the street level and artistry. You'd never hear someone else pull of the music he makes and have it sound so natural.
If you like Santeria’s hook, PLEASE check out 070 Shake’s music. You Cant Kill Me is an absolutely beautiful album. 070 has an insanely unique sound mixing RnB, Hip-hop, and Soul.
I’m begging you path. Drop the college dropout reaction. You gotta listen to the college trilogy. You missing out on some of the best music ever created
Omg I was listening to your kids see ghost review while working and I told myself she should do Daytona and u went to listen to the album and here we are now
I love this album, how it gets darker and darker from presenting the criminal or underworld lifestyle into addiction and death to zeroing in on an enemy (infrared) you gotta go deeper into Kanye stuff if you haven't heard Be by Common (kanye and j dilla produced) or any of his first 7 classics. MBDTF album has the best Rick Ross verse oat on the song, Devil In A New Dress. You seem to pay attention to details and analysis, Kanyes albums go really deep with each album building on the next, it'd be fun to watch you dissect it
imo you're not missing much with rick ross. he's a former corrections officer LARPing as a kingpin, it just doesn't work. not to mention his wealth of lyrical landmines over the years!
It seems after the Drake vs Kendrick Beef we both collectively look up Pusha T, I love his personality when he explained how the Story of Adidon was made and the thought process for it
