I watched this video when you first dropped it. Wasn’t fully ready to start. Now I came back to watch it again because I just filed for my authority a couple days ago. Got my dot # / mc # yesterday. So it’s time for me to start shopping for insurance as well. Also I’m in southern Cali as well 😬😅.
@@HotshotAdventures I can’t remember if I have your info to reach out but I do want to run Something by you if you don’t mind?? Best way to contact you ?
Be careful about the 40 w/ mega ramps for cars. Reason being is I started with a PJ trailet with mega ramps and cars werent easy to drive onto. If you look at her trailer, its lower to the ground than a regular flatbed gooseneck. So just be careful. You may need to add additional ramps.
Hi and thanks for the advice . I’m in Memphis and I’m about to start driving for my self . Will they give quotes without any money down ? I want to get quotes before I start buying equipment.
Love your videos they are very informative and helpful. I have a quick question about hotshot insurance . Is it true that if you run local with in your state , you will pay a lot less for your premium insurance? .thank you very much for all your info
Great video content! I'm subscribed. I've been driving commercially for 20 years. Have been an owner operator for about 12 years in Class 8 big rigs. Just got my authority about 10 months ago. I wanna jump into hotshot biz because I'm tired of the 18 wheelers. How much of a difference was their as far as your operations and booking loads after your first 90 days?
I dont think there is a special board for bumper full loads. If you want to haul freight, I would use truckstop or Dat, depending on your area in the we country. If you haul cars, use central dispatch. Congrats!
Good morning, so what I'm getting from the video is that, I have to have my insurance before I get my DOT, and MC number? Or vise versa? Can I email you personally?
My granddaughter and I had a question cuz we're both looking at getting into this. When you mentioned that you have to send in your insurance compliance or whatever it is you call that that you have to do that for every single load that you accept or do you have to just send that to the carrier or the hell I don't know what the hell I'm talking about
Hey I just applied for my own authority for the last 4 months I have been driving under someone’s authority thank you for the tips on the insurance Is the insurance that expensive?
Thank you for your great videos! I am looking to get into hot shot driving. I have my CDL since 2004, and want to start my own business. Is it hard to find work? How much money do you need to operate? Thank you for videos!
Just found your channel and subscribed .where do you find the insurance company scoring ? Awesome info . Going to go watch your videos from the beginning .how are you doing your carrier packet? Thanks again
If they are going to charge you a fee, it should be wrapped up into the quote, not a surprise fee you have to pay extra for later, after you've already put your down-payment.
You do not need to go through a broker. For example, if you went with progressive, there are many brokers that will set you up with progressive, but you can call progressive directly and get insurance through them, and save yourself the broker fees :) but shop around, because brokers may have a better rate for you. Never know til you shop around
And you can get your dot #, but it will not go active until you have commercial insurance. So my advice is to not apply for a dot # until you are prepared to purchase insurance. Dot # will be "pending" until you show them you have insurance. They give you approx. 4 weeks to get your insurance, then they cancel your pending dot number and you have to pay another $300 to get a dot # and then you have another 4 weeks to upload your insurance docs. Hope this helps, let me know how things go!
Hey I have a new authority for hotshot trucking and is based out in California. Im having trouble with finding a insurance company. Do you have nay suggestions?
Appreciate all the info! Currently a CDL student in CA looking to get into hotshot already have authority under a family member but what insurance co. do you use for no experience new CDL holder for your hotshot setup. Thinking about doing enterprise as well, continuing to do research. Thank you for the content !!
@@HotshotAdventures will do, progressive did gave me the contact to an agent in my area but unfortunately they told me the same thing that because I'm new authority and new Cdl.....but thanks any, appreciate the video and the response.
@@nathanl6450 You can use Progressive but their quotes are very high. I had mine done by an agent who went Into the marketplace and got me the coverage I needed. And he had very good quotes. If you need a referral message me on Whatsapp at +1-872-400-2600 or email me at Ryanmarceloumar@gmail.com
I wouldn't suggest progressive. Also, if they are the only company you've called, I strongly suggest spending hours, days if needed on looking for the best insurance at the best price. It's all going to be expensive, your new driver, and your company is new..the point is to keep your nose clean and it will get better. I dont know if this guy has good insurance, but I approved his comment to give you another avenue to look into. Hope it helps.

If you have Progressive Insurance' you can go online and do it yourself 24/7

Who do u have for ur insurance broker..
Why don’t you keep a copy of the certificate of insurance on file or in your email?
It has to have the Brokers name as the Certificate Holder. It changes from broker to broker.

Is there any percentage the broker supposed to take from the premium as a fee ?
Broker fees are usually flat rate
Yeah right my broker fee is ALWAYS AS MUCH I CAN GET. Sorry if you are a horrible negotiator I will take that for my financial advantage.
How can i find an A rated company that will insure me?..Progressive said they can't, I'm new authority and new CDL. Help please
