    Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Bait and baiting up for sea fishing is a essential subject very rarely covered, or just covered very quickly and not in enough detail. You've made a perfect tutorial, covering the subject well.

    I am not new to fishing however it is really good to see how others bait up and will be using some of the ways you do it, seems just because I have done it certain ways for years doesn't meen I can't learn new ways, and at sixty two years old that is saying something.

    A few video ideas as being quite new to the sport I'm not the best, but for us new guys mabye a fish identification video as to be honest the only fish I know so far are codling and whiting!
    Also mabye show us new guys the best ways to unkook fish from different positions? Gutted hooks etc.

    • @fishingintheukgarywood

      Hi, it depends what size bait I'm using and the fish I'm targeting but usually sizes 1/0 to 5/0.

  • @multisturge
    @multisturge 3 года назад

    I seriously need to get back into fishing, once covid restrictions lift more that the first thing I'm doing. Never tried fish baits, lug or crab but had some decent fish on rag. Nothing with sandeels or squid though. Is it necessary to wrap every bait with elastic? I certainly would with eels and crab but never wrapped rags.

    • @fishingintheukgarywood
      @fishingintheukgarywood  3 года назад

      Just the big baits and frozen ones mainly to secure them to your hook and stop them slipping down and masking the hook point No need to put bait elastic on fresh worm baits like rag worm.

    • @multisturge
      @multisturge 3 года назад +1

      @@fishingintheukgarywood fair enough, first bait I used was frozen squid on the Bristol channel but caught nothing. Used hook clip but no elastic.

    • @fishingintheukgarywood
      @fishingintheukgarywood  3 года назад +1

      Tight enough so the bait doesn't slip down the hook and mask the point of the hook, but not so tight that it cuts through the bait.

    People should dispatch and eat fish as soon as they are caught not play with them or leave them in a state of stress. Good fisherman and hunters try to minimise the distress to the catch and respect wildlife.
